Good question - I’m sure there’s a few on here that could shed some light on this
-
There’s this strange narrative that PSR has led to a more competitive premier league landscape (partly or wholly because cartel clubs like Man Utd and spurs have fucked it last season). Unfortunately them fucking up has led to more support for the PSR rules; seems like even when they absolutely fail they’re still reaping the rewards somewhat. Infuriating.

James Trafford: NUFC in talks with Burnley over £30m transfer (Various)

Does he ever catch the ball? Also, a weakness is his ball playing, granted not Pope levels but 40 is a lot for this lad? hmmmm I'm not sure. -
True dat But by effort I just mean actually getting some tickets and going to some games At the moment, our membership scheme means a punter who has regularly gone to games for years has the same standing as a punter who's not a Newcastle fan but is visiting the city and fancies going to a single match

U21s euros just started on channel "4seven". That's channel 49 on my free view channel. Channels for all games can be found here... https://www.live-footballontv.com/

They've printed it back to front.

It might be a snip, but when you are trying to stretch a budget to cover all the positions we need, it is quite a lot of money.
-
We've got plenty of money we can tap into though, we don't need loopholes. We just aren't allowed to spend that money because the cartel don't want us competing with them for players and trophies.

Took this (which I immediately sent to my Manchester United supporting father-in-law): I'll take a photo of the entire shirt later.

Really surprised Chelsea or Man Utd aren't knocking about for him this summer. -
Seem to remember plenty of people scoffing at Pickford's price as well. Obviously he's a mackem with teeny tiny arms, but he has proven to be a top keeper nonetheless.
-
Plus he's literally been quoted a couple of posts above as saying he was disappointed he at not joining Newcastle from Watford.
-
As with any target, we wouldn’t be bidding if they weren’t interested, all that stuff is done before any bid is placed.
-
Any pics? (Got one each for me and my son on way on a slow boat)

8 years ago Pickford was on a similar trajectory to Trafford and went for 25-30m. I'm not saying they're the same player, but 8 years later... 30-35m for Trafford seems a snip.
-
It doesn't. I think he's just saying that the Plc losses are the ones people report and focus on, whereas the actual footballing losses are less than reported by the Plc. Haven't looked into it to find out where the difference comes from - it's just when accounts come out everyone focuses on the headline loss number, but you can only really guess at the real PSR loss number. Anyway, it's quite funny how some didn't want Elanga, but now he might cost a wedge we're outraged by that too. Think he could be great here, personally.

No shit, baldylocks. Who wouldn't want be here.

Aye, that was the point I was trying to make. It's not as if keeping Tonali in over Longstaff would have meant we'd continue to lose against Brentford, Sheff Utd & Burnley. I know he wasn't exactly brilliant in those 3 games but it was a massive baptism of fire to the PL against the 4 teams we had first. I don't even think it was necessarily wrong to not play him, I don't buy this line that results and performances improved because we started playing Longstaff, though. We just weren't playing the previous season's top 6 anymore. -
He’s a soon to be Premier League Keeper though?
-
Bowen and Wharton were championship players when they got signed. I see it as £40m for the best young English goalkeeper around. If Howe wants him, that’s good enough for me.
-
It's pretty clear why we can't use those loopholes, it's because of our income. We make about half of what the Sky 6 make, so those loopholes won't help us in the long run. Until we get good academy players to sell and revenue closer to the Sky 6, those loopholes are for short-term gain and could really hurt us later.

And this is why capitalism is a total fucking sham. The people with the money completely game the situation across every industry and the same thing happens over time, the rich get richer and the percentage of the rich gets smaller while the poor get poorer and the percentage of the poorer grows larger. It’s a totally completely and utterly fucked financial system
