  2. What half a season was this? I understand the massive respect for him but this is fiction.
  3. Huge game at stan Monday v Birtley for the third place shout. worthy of the £7 entrance fee easy.
  4. The thing is, clubs can make offers toward the value of the release clause, they'll start somewhere below that, and if Newcastle hold firm, fair enough. I think city could lure him away perhaps under the release clause, if they hold secret talks with his agent and Bruno throws in the towel, I would hope Bruno would never do that though, and if he is set on moving on, he get us the maximum value.
  5. Do we fuck want £85m for him
  6. Today
  7. Yes, a long time plan within the EPS Development Area, that a large pub is to be incorporated within the old "Worswick Chambers" building, further down Pilgrim Street from the Pilgrim Quarter HMRC construction right next to where Worswick Street Bus Station used to be, and the owners of 'Stack' have been given the license to run it.
  8. He must have had early onset, as I when I was readiing his wiki earlier - he's 65/66. It's no age, really. Such a shame.
  9. Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but is Tonali able to play any friendlies? The Melbourne games at the end of the season for example?
  10. Yeah I agree, I just meant it’s pointless in terms of any further punishment. They do have to investigate and charge etc.
  11. If done for a positive outcome I don’t think it’s pointless. if he broke the rules while under FA jurisdiction then they must investigate to send a clear message it won’t be tolerated. where the outcome has to be positive is not destroying the guys career or making him more likely to relapse or ruin his life with a new non consecutive ban. what they should be doing is using him as an example to existing and upcoming players. You break the rules and we will come down on you. BUT if you have a problem with gambling and if you are betting on games stop. Come forward and tell us, we can work with you to get help and support. Come to us and you get help and support rather than harsh punishments. the problem is the same as many addictions, if the law is punishment you’ve criminalised addition, which I know many in here dont believe is an illness. But punishing and driving illness and problems further underground doesn’t help. It 100 percent needs investigating, the outcome is the important bit and what message the FA end up sending out.
  12. Absolutely. Probably why they haven't stressed out doing it asap as it'll be something they have to do, but it's nothing that will change anything (unless he starts betting again that is) in practical terms.
  13. Common sense, yer I know, would be a further sentence but suspended. Keeps everyone satisfied.
  14. It’s a pointless exercise but I guess the FA have to investigate and therefore charge him. Even if they won’t give him any extra ban.
  15. For the sake of stopping the conjecture the FA are investigating up to the 12/10/23 the Italian FA first pulled Tonali in on the 12/10/23, there is no overlap, he didn't bet under investigation, anything more than a consecutive ban is over kill.
  16. His betting appears to have stopped when the investigation began so any ban above what he's got currently would be absurd
  17. If he was betting under investigation or bet on Newcastle, he deserves another 10 month ban tbh.
  18. Stifler

    St James' Park

It’s not meant to be used during msthdays, they even say. It’s designed to bring income in when the football isn’t on. The bar would be a waste time otherwise as it is in clear view of the pitch, and you can’t serve alcohol in clear view of the pitch during games.
  19. Aye, for people that don’t understand sports, what they fail to get is the amount of emotion involved both during but also looking back
  20. The new charge is dated until the 12th October, which is basically when news of the investigation broke, with him being questioned at the Italy camp. So you could probably argue it started before then, so he was probably betting whilst under investigation (without knowing it), but most likely wasn’t betting once he knew of the investigation.
  21. Remember us playing at home to Juventus in the 1983 European Cup quarter final, against what remains easily the best team I've ever seen play us at our place, by a mile. Boniek, Platini, Paolo Rossi, Tardelli, Dino Zoff - fuck me, what a majestic line up. We lost 2-1, and put up a decent showing on the whole, but the one player on our side who had the talent to have played in that Juve side was Sid Cowans. He scored for us - a diving header, after he'd put in one of the most fucking delicious little two footed shuffles of the ball I've ever seen (imprinted on brain for the 41 years since) before playing it out and running in to head the return ball in. Genuinely feel myself getting a bit teary here just thinking about that, hairs on arms standing up, the lot. Football, eh? It's nuts.
