  1. Back to a formation we haven't played once this season?
  2. No. http://theifab.com/laws/fouls-and-misconduct/chapters/indirect-free-kick
  3. And yet he doesn't have an assist to his name this season. It's weird he didn't get one for that Joselu goal If Joselu could finished maybe he would have but Matip kicked it off him.
  4. Players are banned from betting on football.
  5. It was supposed to implode, it didn't. Approx 10% of the explosive didn't go off, they still expect it to fall but just don't know when.
  6. slowly, brick by brick that's what I was told by some guy at St James a few years ago, anyway. Assuming you're talking about leazes terrace Leazes Terrace is a Grade 1 Listed Building. To give an idea of what Grade 1 means in terms of significance, roughly 90% of all Listed Buildings are Grade 2, about 7% are Grade 2* and only about 3% are Grade 1. They are buildings of exceptional significance. There is no realistic prospect of Listed Building Consent ever being granted to move it, which would inevitably harm its significance. Aside for that, it's f***ing massive, it would probably cost hundreds of millions of pounds to do. It is never going to happen. Nor should it, it's a stunning building that I beam with pride is part of my city every time I walk past it. Spot on.
  7. It wasn't a sitter but it was a very good chance.
  8. Give us the back story and some context then. When did this happen? On which forums?
  9. Southampton scored in the 75th minute in their last game West Ham's goal today wasn't in stoppage time either.
  10. And yet he doesn't have an assist to his name this season.
  11. Someone got their calculations wrong: http://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-42216297/pontiac-silverdome-stadium-fails-to-implode-in-detroit
  12. So many empty seats at Man City.
  13. Still in force just never enforced.
  14. This wacky BBC coverage is a bit crap, can't see it being tolerated by clubs at a higher level. There was the farce on Friday when the players coming out of the tunnel and now today they have presenters on the touchline interviewing the manager in the middle of the first half and then on the pitch just after the half time whistle has gone interviewing a player-manager.
  15. It's not though is it. Teams generally get corners and free kicks in every single match, and can go months without getting a penalty. The basic argument is that he is vital to the team because of his set piece play, I’m arguing that doesn’t justify playing him all the time on the off chance that he does something on a set piece... just why Shola shouldn’t have played all the time on the off chance we get a penalty and he puts it away. Anyway we are going around in circles here... But we had alternatives to Shola for the majority of his time here and we don't really have any alternatives to Ritchie right now - perhaps that changes when Atsu returns. And you just can't compare the likelihood of getting something out of a corner with a penalty. It's nonsense.
  16. Well, it's not. Teams get corners and free kicks every single match pretty much, that certainly isn't the case with penalties. Our team isn't simply good enough to take away our set piece threat.
  17. Russia meddling in our affairs again. Clearly from the Russian tourist board.
  18. When I say "mediocre" I'm going by the dictionary definition of distinctly average. And I view his set pieces as average because I'm judging by what I see when it comes to technical execution of e.g. corners - I think he floats it more than he whips it, at a higher trajectory that makes it harder to score and easier to defend. Better set piece takers can whip the into an area at a trajectory/pace that causes far more problems. You must be blind or partially sighted. We're probably the best we've been for 15 years + at attacking set pieces and a lot of that is down to the delivery from Ritchie. So far this season it is his one redeeming feature.

I think the Souness prem side was as bad if not worse. The Souness side was s**** because Souness was an idiot. Talent and ability wise it was a million miles better than this one. Shay Given, Kieron Dyer, Craig Bellamy, Patrick Kluivert, Laurent Robert, Emre etc. I could go on but the talent in that squad compared to what we have now, the difference is monumental. Sorry yeah, I was talking after the lunatic flogged half if not all those players you said. He had utter dross toward the end of his time, It should actually read Roeder then, as it was him who picked up the s*** Souness left behind. Still on another level to what we have now. Given, Dyer, Solano, Emre, Martins, Owen, Milner, Parker etc.
