He's a journalist, they are close as that manager / journalist relationship goes but that doesn't mean they are close as people. Rafa is using his experience to get the most out of the likes of Hardy for his benefit and that of NUFC. Rafa is playing the game very well.

They have mutual acquaintances, nothing more. They certainly aren't close but he will be getting dripped bits and bobs about what's going on I'm sure.

Until Dave says otherwise.

It's a general discussion around the subject so I guess it's okay. See below.

Absolutely. Joe Kinnear was our manager ffs. I would have probably given him the same advice.
-
What's that about? You don't remember Coloccini's letter?

20 correct scores and I'm near bottom. Need to stop forgetting to do this.

Sure they did exactly the same last season too. Started really well, pressing, full of energy and got some great results then went completely to s*** for a few months over Nov-Jan. Their wobble was only really October and November - the did well in December and January. Not so sure they will be able to turn it around in this division. From December to playing us in March they lost once.
-
We should be looking to beat both Leicester and Everton at St. James' Park.
-
He was a bit rusty and gave the ball away a couple of times but he was all over the pitch, had more touches than anyone in the game. He makes a massive difference to how we function.

He didn't want to be here from day one. Only came for the money and to keep his agent happy.

Author clearly hasn't seen us play recently.

Mitro and Merino on.
-
Bloke next to me hasn’t bothered coming back for the second half.
-
Players back out. No changes.
-
Watford have been neat and tidy but nothing special. We’ve been shocking, static and individual mistakes time and time again. Merino on at half time and a bit of luck and we can get a point here.

It's not just location in terms of where it as and it being in the city centre. St. James' Park may be in a different form now but the various revisions of if over the years are a massive part of the history of Newcastle United. The fact we are on the same site, and St. James' Park has been embryonically developed over the years as the same ground where football has been played since the formation of the club in 1892 is significant. The current bricks and mortar (or should that be cladding and glass) for then yes - very little historic or cultural value but I would hate to see us move given the location and history of St. James' Park and the surrounding land use prevents us from doing a 'Spurs'.
-
The location, absolutely, but there's nothing historical or cultural about the actual stadium imo. Aye, let’s juts forget about 125 years of games, players, matches, performances etc. Eh? SJP has only been in its current form since 2000. The oldest part of it is only like 24 years old. Bit of grass in middle, had football played on it by NUFC since 1892.
