is there anything we can do as fans to take this into our own hands? i mean we can't just sit idling by and watch the club go down, or even come close to getting relegated!! I dont particularly give a rat's ass about our squad of players as individuals or personalities. Having said that, it will be up to them whether we stay up or not. Survival will have to depend on them, and I don't like the status quo. I'm wondering....is there anything we can do to help the situation?? Can we get 20 or 30 or 40 thousand signatures to ask the club to open training up to the public? Maybe the daily support of fans will get them going! We can sell whoever we have to sell in the summer. But in the meantime, we need to stick by these players as our fate is in their hands! What else can we do? I really think we should take matters into our own hands, and I believe Newcastle-Online has enough man power and passion to think of something!!! Come on boys and girls....who's with me! Mods, feel free to start a new thread if anything

Haven't read the thread, but mark my words: Oba Martins will be back better than ever, and will have a spectacular end to this sorry season. He will single-handedly keep us up.

Don't think it matters much laying the blame at Taylor's door-step. It definitely was a red card tackle though. If you're not fast enough to react then you shouldn't be going into dangerous tackles like that, or you'll get punished. In this case, unfortunately, the punishment to Eduardo himself has been a lot worse. Just one of those things that happen. I'm hoping Taylor will be man enough to follow Eduardo's recovery closely, and be there for him as much as possible. That's what the grand old game of football is all about.

poor eduardo. shocking injury. all the best to him for a full recovery

No room for tournament top scorer Sammy Eto'o? Is that your team? or an official thingy bob?

Best team in the tournament by far. Again Egypt completely dominated, and should have been up by a few goals before they scored. To be honest, this ACN has had some of the best football I have seen on display in the last few years. The performance of Egypt particularly. If this had been the World Cup, I believe Egypt were actually strong enough to emulate Turkey, Croatia and South Korea, and reach the final 4. Such was their organisation, confidence and pure application. Sad it's over actually. A whole lot better than the shite served up in the premier league (e.g. Chelsea-Pool)

Superb football by Egypt tonight. Played their hearts out, and won almost every 50/50 ball. Technical quality however was on show in abundance, and imo they were well worth their win. You could tell IVC waltzed on the pitch like the spoilt premiership/ligue/liga stars thinking they'd walk them over. Egypt surprised me with how technical their players were, and fitness was by no means their weakness. Simply outplayed the ivorians in a terrific exhibition of counter-attack football. Pissed me off they milked the fouls and injuries like.....but that's only a taste of Drogba's own medicine. Final should be an epic

no offence decky...but its discussions like this that help add fuel to their fire. I know your intentions are not to shit stir. But those who want to shit stir will pick up on these sentiments, and the next time we don't pick up 3 points, they will be out in numbers as usual.

Mate of my brother's. Just found out today. -
He's a fucking baby!!

looked a really good player. He IS a really good player... What's he been like with FC Zurich? Does he play as an out and out striker? or does he play just behind? Ben Saada, the little number 7 was eye catching as well, and scored a brilliant free-kick a-la Robert.

Brilliant game between Cameroon and Tunisia. Some insane goals as has become the norm in this tournament. Tunisia were very unlucky. Cameroon clinical and professional. Manucho's finish for Angola was something else as well. Special mention for Tunisia's Yassine Chikhaoui. Zidane look-alike. At 21, he has excellent fluid movement.

People recognize that it's a special club, and quite a few in fact have a rather unexplainable affinity towards it. I was sat at the pub today watching the match with a few friends (Man U, Liverpool, Everton and Preston fans), and all were willing wor lot to win. Could have well left the pub before full time, as we'd just finished a sunday league game and were on the post-match piss up. All stayed til the final whistle. When I ask them why they give a fuck about Newcastle, they all just shrug and say....we just do. -
