That's harsh. He's managed to score 14 goals for us, this year. Ba boom tish

The guy weighs about 20 stone for fucks sake. We need pace in the side not some wheezing bloater with a drink problem.

Is Albert Riera realistic?

Easily done

I've never seen a better left back in one-on-one defensive situations. Next season i'm certain we'll see pundits and commentators bum the hell out of him
-
Hopefully we could get a couple of million for Xisco as well
-
Thats what they tend to call them. Really? Damn thats queer as is calling their club shop "Planet Blue". Sounds like a sex shop

Just properly laughed out loud at my desk reading that. Juvenile but very funny!

Considering our transfer policy is to sign players under the age of 26 with a potential profitable resale value, i don't think the club would either.

I'm sure there would be no shortage of takers for Hughton's services if we let him go and i'd be devastated to see him sacked now, only for him to succeed somewhere else. We seemed to have unearthed a decent up-and-coming manager and we should hold on to him for next season and beyond as far as i'm concerned. The players are playing for him and clearly want him to stay so it would do untold damage to moral and club stability if we dumped him out the blue. It would be a ridiculous decision by Ashley. Therefore, it's nailed on to happen

The issue with Taylor isn't ability, it's the fact that his position at the club may be untenable due to the fight. If we could sell him for £6m+ and replace him with a Nedum Onouha, Curtis Davies or similar then we can retain the harmony in the camp without losing out on defensive quality. The others, with the exception of Coloccini perhaps, would be more difficult to replace so it's a no-brainer for me.

I like the clubs policy of keeping everything to it's chest, it seems always give us some nice surprises. I feel 20~25million is a good budget for the first season back in the Premiership. The Routledge signing completely out of the blue was brilliant. Totally unexpected but very welcome!

We all seem to be forgetting that we were an absolute fucking shables on the pitch last season. No direction, no organisation, no heart and a lot of players who simply didn't give a fuck. Wolves, Birmingham, Burnley (at the start of the season), Stoke etc have all shown that you can get results in the Premier League, without ruining yourself financially, if you are well organised and resolute. And those happen to be the two biggest attributes we've shown all season. 10 goals conceded at home all season doesn't happen by accident. My doubts about Colo still exist because of the regularity with which he was shown up last season but if we continue to defend as a team he won't be exposed so often. IMO we need the following players: Proven premier league CB Creative midfielder First choice right back Backup left back Proven top level striker (not necessarily proven in the Premier League) At least one proven winger I reckon we can pick up half of these on free transfers so whatever budget we have can be used on 2-3 quality additions.

After what happened in January I doubt anyone knows the real figure Hughton will be given. The club kept their cards very close to their chests, ocassionally mentioning figures of £1m and talking about loan deals, and then spent around £5m. They'd be daft to start announcing transfer budgets because it allows other clubs to hold us to ransome so I don't think we'll ever know. I just hope we're going to be pleasantly surprised.

Firstly I'm looking forward to a bit of wheeling and dealing this summer. I love it when we sign players I don't know a lot about but turn out to be really good. It's a shit load more exciting and interesting than signing the likes of Duff, Butt, Smith etc. After that i'm looking forward to a season without much in the way of expectation. If we stay up i'll be chuffed to bits and anything else is a bonus. The atmosphere is back and we've got a group of players that I genuinely like for the first time in ages. Fucking bring it on!
-
I'd love us to have another go at signing Curtis Davies from Villa. He seems to be spending most of his time on the bench and he fits the bill in terms of age and ability. Not sure O Neill would let him go though
-
I just think he's too old and too expensive. Doesn't fit in at all with out new transfer policy
-
Fuck him, he made his bed so let him lie in it. I loved him when he played for us but he jumped ship when we needed him most. He's too old anyway
-
I've tried Googling it but i can't find one
-
Likewise, i've always liked him as a player. Could be the answer to our creative CM dilemma as well as useful back up for the left wing
-
I still have my doubts about Colo mainly due to the regularity and ease with which he was shown up last season. Having said that, our midfield was fucking garbage and offered no protection whatsoever to the back four. Hopefully, with the organisation Hughton and Calderwood have instilled plus the addition of a mobile midfield general, the CBs won't be exposed so often. The thought of either Nicky Butt or Alan Smith featuring in our Central midfield next season makes me want to weep

I'd like to see something like this: ...............................Harper Behrami........Coloccini........Williamson........Enrique Routledge.....Barton........Scharner.......Guitierrez .....................Carroll........C Cole We'd be pretty dangerous down both flanks and, with Scharner, we'd have another option for CB.
-
He's one of the only players we have in the squad who has proven premiership quality. He hasn't shown it for a long time but he has performed at a decent level in the top league.
-
I just read on Twitter that they had heard Martin O'Neill had left Aston Villa.

fyp. Talksport are a fucking joke. How are they still allowed to broadcast? They're like the Daily Sport of radio
