I just hope he's not dogshit after all this
-
er....no...he's in Newcastle preparing for a game I would need medical assistance if he was up here and we fkn nicked him off the Mackems. I would need some clean pants
-
He's pretty shit at Premiership level from what I can remember but he'd probably do a decent job against the dross in this league. If we go up we can get rid and sign someone half decent
-
Although I don't want to see any team go into administration, except for Man Utd of course, Simon Jordan is a right twat and for that reason I don't have any sympathy
-
Credit where it's due - that is a cracking signing.
-
You were merely doing your duty as a football fan. It shoudl be made compulsary to give Gary Neville the wanker sign whenever you see him.
-
I'd have him here in a shot. Let's just hope Hughton/Ashley have read his come-and-get-me plea
-
I'd love to stove his face in with a shovel.

When and where have I criticised his performance yesterday? I stated my opinion of one of our players, something which i believe is allowed and actually encouraged on football forums. There is no doubt that Colo is a good defender but just not in the Premier League. Yesterday's performance hasn't infuenced my opinion of the guy either way - all defenders make mistakes, it's just part and parcel of football. He's been pretty solid all season and fair play to him for it. I just don't think he'll help our cause if we go up. Do you think replacing him with some jelly legged t*** like Andy O'Brien will improve us? No I don't. Why, do you?

How am I being fickle? I've always said that Colo was unsuited to Premier League football and nothing has changed my mind. Surely if I was to say Colo has had a great Championship campaign and I have now changed my mind about him, that would be fickle

Says you, who suggested we buy a striker who failed in the championship when we're 5 months from the premiership. I suggested we buy a pacy striker to play off the bigger, more physical strikers, we have now. I then suggested one name based on seeing him play for 20 minutes of a cup game. Maybe he wasn't the best suggestion but read the title of the thread "realistic transfer targets". I believe Danny Webber is a realistic transfer target. He might well be shit, I haven't seen enough of him throughout his career to judge but I thought I'd drop his name in there. The way you go on you'd think he was my favourite player. Why don't you lighten up and stop being such a bellend!

It's no coincidence that Collicini made a mistake in a game against the nearest team to premiership quality we've played all season. His game is totally unsuited to top-level English football. We've dropped down a division and he looks OK and that, in my opinion, is due to a slower pace of play and individual strikers being significantly slower than premiership strikers. We should keep him until the summer then flog him, and buy a decent english defender who can handle the rigours of the premier league (if we get promoted).

If we replaced Nolan with Guthrie and stuck Ryan Taylor on the right wing I think we'd keep posession better, have a better balance and, more importantly create and score more goals. R Taylor......Smith.......Guthrie.......Jonas looks infinitely better than Guthrie......Smith.......Nolan.......Jonas

The last quote I saw from Alex McLeish talked about Barnes looking good in training and that he was hoping to have a chat with him regarding his plans - he definitely sounded interested in signing him.
-
Does he sell shit clothes by any chance?
-
Dressing ridiculously, mainly. Isn't he scoring for fun in Greece? Don't think you could get him as a CCC side though. 15 goals in 17 games according to Wikipedia. Doubt the world's fattest cunt would be prepared to fund a bid for him then

I think Carroll would be more highly rated and probably more appreciated if we had a decent goalscorer playing alongside him. Our problem is that none of our strikers are the play-off-the-shoulder sort, so a lot of the ball winning and hold up play done by Carroll and Ranger is wasted. What we need right now is someone more direct and clinical in front of goal, who can feed off the likes of Carroll. Right now we're relying on Carroll to bang in the goals, so when he misses chances or doesn't get in the right position it's frustrating as fuck, but that's not really his game. He does trouble defenders and win a lot of balls in the air but without a decent player to run off him and feed off the flicks all that goes to waste. Take Heskey as an example - he hardly scores at all but he's still very highly rated for the way he creates chances for others by holding the ball up and winning headers. If his team was relying on him for goals the fans would fucking hate him because he's a donkey, but they don't. The teams that have signed him have played him alongside a decent pacy goalscorer and in almost every case the partnership has flourished. I still rate rate Carroll but I think he's a victim of circumstance. He's not a natural goalscorer but put him alongside someone like Beckford and we might be onto a winner.

What's Djibril Cisse up to these days?
-
Look, i'm not suggesting he's the next Batistuta but I watched the game last night and he looked handy when he came on. He fits the bill of a pacy striker who wouldn't cost the earth and has scored goals at this level. It was merely a suggestion, i'm not in love with him or anything like that!
-
Bollocks! You obviously didn't watch as much of the game as I did. Portsmouth were absolute utter shit before he came on. His pace up front gave them a different dimension, and it was only after he came on that they looked like scoring.
-
If the Beckford deal doesn't come off i'd like to see us stick in an offer for Danny Webber. I saw him play for Portsmouth last night and he looked very good. He's also scored a stack of goals at this level and, with Portsmouth's financial problems, I can't see them turning down a decent bid

McLeish has got £40m to spend. He was promised it when he joined the club. I heard an interview with him on the radio to day and he talked about his sizeable transfer kitty but said he didn't want to disrupt his current group of players by making loads of new signings Been waiting a while for that hasn't he! Maybe he was promised it when the new owners took over. To be honest i wasn't paying that much attention

Giles Barnes if fit again but the sounds of it. He's been training with Birmingham City and they want to speak to him about his plans. I still think (if fit) he could add that creative element that our midfield has been missing for much of the season.
