f*** me, I used to go to school with Nick Ruberry! He's the son of Barry Ruberry who bought Huddersfield Town when they were good and pretty much ruined them.

No! Just because we're in a lesser league doesn't negate the desperate need for creativity in the centre of the park, pace on the wings and decent service to the strikers. If we don't sign anyone we'll suffer the same problems we did last year ie. strikers feeding off scraps.

Bramble dropped a couple of unbelievable clangers when he first joined Wigan, missing an easy clearance to leave the opposition attacker clear on goal. Bruce, being a top CB himself, obviously worked on his concentration and gave him the confidence he needed to be the defender we all knew he could be. Couple that with the fact that Wigan had an experienced, intelligent player in Paul Scharner playing alongside him, one of the league's best defensive midfielders in Palacios playing in front of him, and a group of patient understanding fans who didn't jump on his back after he made an error, and it seems he found the right club at the right time.

Yeah but that wouldn't fit with Parky's agenda of having a bloody argument about anything no matter how irrelevant his stance is. See what you have to say when the next sale deadline passes ringo. IMO 100m is too high and it seriously hampers the sale. He's got people biting at 100 million. The final sale could be 100m it maybe less. But so f***ing what, as long as the club is selling. The first day we've had some remotely positive vibes in weeks and you are pratittling on about how the club's not worth 100 million, you're a f***ing loon. Again who the hell cares ? Lets just hope we get some good news by the end of the month, worry more about that than whether you are proved right that the club is not worth 100mill. pratittling!? Nice! You should get that copyrighted before someone else takes the credit

Dietmar Hamann on a free. Worth another go?
-
Yeah, as i understood it the groups were only given access to the data room once they'd proved they had the necessary funds. All 4 groups are studying the books so they must've met the financial criteria

Real Madrid's potential midfield next season: Ronaldo......Kaka.......Sneijder......Robben Hmmmm, not bad!
-
I suppose an online supository of poorly scanned files with Llambas and Ashley's writing all over it including games of hangman on contracts and Ashley doodling "Sports Direct 4 LYFE" as well. These online data rooms are quite possibly the most annoying things ever, I was in charge of managing and organizing one when the company I worked for sold our division to one of the big investment banks. Ever since being on that end of due-diligence, i officially hate that term. Do these data rooms speed things up? Supposedly. It basically allows interested parties to view the club's accounts remotely which i suppose is a major advantage for foreign groups

He may be a figurehead, he maybe a big contributor to the consortium and with a potential 33% of ownership (his funds) looming you simply cannot say he's just another employee. To be quite honest I couldn't give a fuck if he owns us outright or just a little piece - I would rather have FF at the helm than Mike (i'm an enormous cunt) Ashley any day.

The danger is that we sell off our high earners and one or two of our other attractive players but don't leave the manager enough time to replace them. I don't think anything should be done until a manager is in place because he will need time to assess what/who is needed to plug the gaps in the squad. That said, if the instructions are to sell Barton, Collicini, Butt, Duff and Geremi then I wouldn't be too worried. We need them off the wage bill and they're unlikely to represent major losses to the quality of the team anyway. Unfortunately, knowing Mike (clueless) Ashley as we do, he's more likely said everyone is up for sale in which case we'll lose players like Bassong, Taylor, Carroll, Ranger, Beye, Enrique before any of the shite gets snapped up.

I'm interested. Yours optimisticly P.Reid

See you later you mop-haired clogger! Don't let the door hit you in the arse on the way out.
-
I think he's a cock smoker myself. Who would you rather have - Dave Whelan or Mike Ashley?
-
With the attacking players that Wigan have I reckon Martinez could do very well. I hope he does as well. Dave Whelan is a proper club Chairman who listens to the fans and gives them what they want. He deserves to do well IMO
-
The level of incompetence shown by Ashley since taking over the club beggars belief. How the fuck he managed to create a successful business empire is one of the world's great mysteries. Fat useless cunting cuntbag!
-
Denis Wise? It's not so much that it's in the NOTW, people are believing it because David Craig said the information behind the story came from very credible sources
-
The club will be much more sellable with Shearer in charge, his chosen back room in place and a sustainable wage bill. Although fatty wants to sell it's unlikely anyone with half a brain (still a chance for FF then) would buy the club in its current state. My guess is that Ashley is stuck between a rock and a hard place - he knows he needs Shearer in charge to help him sell the club but Shearer won't sign up unless Ashley gives him transfer funds. It's a tough one Ashley but if you make your bed you lie in it!
-
I want our entire midfield to go. Ashley, Wise, Llambias etc have succeeded in creating the most static, most predictable, slowest and least creative midfield in the country by selling players with pace and good delivery, and either not replacing them at all or replacing them with players of a lesser standard. We have (or had) one of the most lethal strike forces in the premier league and left them feeding off scraps for 38 games because we'd sold our best wingers and never addressed the desperate need for a creative CM. At least this will change with Shearer in charge - he, more than most, appreciates the vlaue of good service. At a push i'd keep one or two of our box to box midfielder like Guthrie and Nolan but other than that the rest can be sold so we can start again. Midfield i'd like to see - Commons Nolan Ledley McGeady

No qualifications for the job? A casino manager's job is to shaft punters out of their money while making them believe that they may have success. How much more qualified for the Newcastle Chairman job could he be?
-
Name a player at this club that didn't. I find it ludicrous that we're singling out specific players and blaming them for this. I know that Colo's errors have been particularly visible because he plays in the center of defense and Butt was especially out of his depth but none of our players were up for the fight week-in week-out, especially when they needed to be, down the stretch. Sebastian Bassong
-
I think Shearer will walk away unless he is given exactly what he wants by Mike Ashley. In his interview he spoke about the mistakes that have been made and that the running of the club has nt been good enough. He also said that things have to be discussed and questions answered - I take that to mean Shearer telling Ashley how he wants the club run if he is to stay, and asking how much Ashley is prepared to back him with in the transfer market. If the answers given aren't to Shearer's liking he'll be off and, as gutted as i'll be, I wouldn't blame him.
-
He's not a bad player, tbh. Playing for a club that operates like a pub team has probably taken it's toll. He's fucking gash! We're a shower of shite, no doubt, but other players have stepped up and shown their worth. Collicini has got worse as the season went on, shown absolutely no desire, no heart, no passion, no pride and no willingness to fight for the cause.
-
Worse than Boumsong! Guttless, talentless, clueless mop-haired fuckwit! Here's hoping i'll never have to see him polute one of our team shirts again.
-
Aaron Gunnarson from Coventry looks a decent player and he's only 20 years old. Darren Gibson from Man Utd would be a good signing as well but i doubt they'd let him go Adam Johnson and David Wheater from Boro look pretty handy too Other than them.....fuck knows!
-
Like all fans I'm gutted but I can see the benefits of it as well. The other thing that occurs to me is how much more exciting the next season is going to be than any of our past 4-5 seasons. Unless you're challenging for the title or the european places the premier league is dull as fuck, and we haven't been anywhere near that level for ages. It'll actually be a nice change to be challenging for something important again next season and to be one of the better teams in the league. Still shit though!
