I picked mine a while ago but i've just looked at it again and i'm doubting my selection: .................................Cech Zambrotta.........Puyol......Cannavaro..........Lahm Bystrov...........Ballack.......Vieira.........Ronaldo ......................Benzema....Huntelaar sub:Arshavin

Excellent! Good to see our new scouting team is unearthing some gems. It's probably bullshit anyway, but I haven't slagged off Wise etal yet so i thought i'd try it on for size.
-
I've been really impressed with Villa recently, both on the field and off it. They've obviously employed some very good PR people. Top work!
-
I personally think that we'll see the N'Zogbia of old again if we sell Duff.
-
I don't really get the anti-Crouch brigade tbh. He's scored plenty of goals in the Premier League, the Champions League and at Interntional level, and at times he's unplayable. It's a bit of a no-brainer for me this one.
-
But surely the idea is to buy players who will experience their best years with us? The point isn't that he has significantly lost any pace, but that he will in the next couple of years (the time he would be playing for us) and that we'd be left with another 30+ year old player on big wages that we can't sell.
-
Leave him well alone. His best years are behind him IMO. I personally think all this stuff we hear about players peaking at 28 is no longer true. The Premier League is now based almost purely on pace which means that by 28 players have already passed their peak. SWP is 27 and is happy to waste years of his career warming the bench. Not the sort of player i want us to sign.
-
Well, i've seen enough. Sign him up!
-
When does it officially open?
-
There's no doubt he's a moany fecker but he has actually got a point. If you sign for a club on the promise that you will play as a striker in a 4-4-2 formation, yet every time you play it's off the bench and out of position in a 4-5-1, how can you expect the guy to be happy? He's basically been lied to.
-
The club's new transfer policy is to buy young talent that WE can develop into stars. Anelka is 29, will cost big money and will no doubt be on huge wages - there is no chance we'll sign him. Next!
-
Cuellar hasn't just looked good, he's looked absolutely outstanding. That's what everyone is so excited about, he's like a one man back four. The SPL is not the best level to judge a player from but you can get a pretty good idea of how good someone is from the Uefa cup, and Cuellar looked immense in that competition as well.
-
He gets the occasional run-out as a substitute and normally does well. He's a bit of a fan's favourite as well.
-
Drenthe is too good a player to be warming the bench anywhere, including Real Madrid.
-
has drenthe pushed on to getting a regular place or has he burnt out ? He hasn't made the squad.

They always look good on paper... but football is played on grass as the old saying goes. They always look good on paper... True, but like the Spanish i'd never bet against them. Sneijder, Robben, Van Persie, Huntelaar, Van Horseface, Van der Vaart, Babel - not bad!
-
If it's just between us lot it doesn't matter though because we'll all have started at the same time
-
Yeah but if we qualified we'd have to put up with Steve McLaren's dodgy team selections, shite football and hideous gurning face. At least this way Capello has a few months to mould the team, which will hopefully mean we stand a better chance in the world cup.

On paper the Dutch look very good. Might have a cheeky bet on them to win it

Fuck me, if that bastard asks me to check my username one more time this monitor is going out the window
-
This. I've said it before - I have only ever met one Spurs fan i like, and i've had the misfortune to meet quite a few. Set of deluded, arrogant Southern fannies

If it is the transfer policy i think it's bang on. How many times have we paid over the odds for a player who has had his best years at another club? This new board obviously want to sign players who will have their best years with us which is what we should have been doing all long rather than pissing money down the drain on fucking geriatrics, journeymen and crocks. If Dunne comes here i won't be too disappointed because he's still a reasonably good age but i would much rather we signed a top class, up-and-coming CB and developed him into a star (ala Kolo Toure, Olof Mellberg, Joleon Lescott, Paul Scharner etc.).
-
They're going to bankrupt themselves at this rate
-
It seems we may have a bit of bargaining power with this one as Emre's agent has confirmed he's been in talks with Galatasaray over a possible move.
