Saw Farfan play last night for the first time and wasn't all that impressed. Zarate is a player worth watching. I've seen him play a couple of times now, and although he hasn't adapted to the pace and rigours of the Premier League yet he looks like he could be very good in the future. He is exactly what we're missing at the moment - a young, pacy, skillful attacker who runs at defenders and can open doors. If Brum go down we should snap him up before bigger teams start sniffing

Viduka's ability to hold up the ball combined with Martins' blistering pace would cause more problems for a defence than Alan Smith's 100% work rate. He's garbage, absolute garbage. A striker who doesn't score goals is a shit striker!

The biggest factor here is that Strikers are paid to score goals. We are in a relegation scrap and desperately need goals. The only first team striker on our books who hasn't scored a goal for the club, and more worrying hasn't looked like scoring a goal, is Alan Smith. Martins, Viduka, Ameobi and probably Carroll are more likely to get us the goals we need. I couldn't give a flying fuck about defending from the front. Where has that got us so far? Smith might offer something but it's nothing we need at the moment. Drop him for good or we're going down.

But in Martins we have an explosive, pacy striker who can score goals from inside or outside the box with his left or right foot, and he's also pretty good in the air. There is no logical explanation for Martins not being picked over Smith. And while i'm on a rant, if Keegan is prepared to let us drop into the bottom 3 and possibly get relegated because he refuses to pick Viduka due to a bad attitude, despite the fact that he represents a far more potent threat on goal than Smith ever will, then he should leave. By all means kick Viduka out in the summer, but we need him right now (bad attitude or not). We all know that Viduka would have buried that header against Blackburn - the one that Smith ballooned over the bar from 3 yards out. He'd probably have helped himself to a couple more as well such was our dominance.

To be honest i'd probably be less frustrated if it was true. At least that would explain this fucking lunacy. Playing that plank out of choice is a far more worrying scenario.

In that time we've scored 3 goals. Smith has scored 0 and created 0 yet he still gets picked ahead of Martins, Viduka, Ameobi and Carroll. I'm fucking seething about this useless cunt being in the starting 11 week after week when we have much more capable alternatives on the bench. We're in a relegation scrap for fucks sake! Geremi has to play in this game. He's no world beater but he contributes 10 times as much as Butt, Barton and Smith.

I'd rather see Ameobi, Carroll, Viduka, Martins, Owen, Terry McDermott, Noddy, The Jolly Green Giant or Free Willy up front than Alan Smith - he's fucking useless. In fact, i'd go so far as to say he's one of the least effective strikers i've ever seen in a black and white shirt.
