  1. I'd like to see this: ....................Given Beye......Taylor...Faye......Enrique Milner....Barton...Emre....Duff ............Owen....Martins But i think we'll see this: .....................Given Beye.....Taylor.....Faye.....Enrique Milner....Butt.......Emre.......Duff .............Owen.....Smith
  2. Can you explain exactly what Terry McDermot does to justify his salary?
  3. More anti-Newcastle propaganda. Do not believe a word the Daily Mail says. I wouldn't wipe my arse with that rag
  4. I agree that he hasn't done much wrong defensively but he offers no threat going forward and nothing from set-pieces either. The height, pace and crossing ability of Beye add another dimension to our play
  5. I'd rather we played the defenders in their favoured position tbh, which means Faye at CB and Beye at right back. Beye offers a lot of attacking threat from right back, and we could really do with that right now. Butt needs to be dropped straight away. His tackling is good but his passing is causing us a lot of problems. I'd go with this: ......................Given Beye.......Taylor....Faye........Enrique Milner.....Geremi/Barton...Emre....N'Zogbia/Duff ..............Owen.........Martins I would like to see how Milner would play in a more central role, so for a more attacking option we could try this: ..................Given Beye.....Taylor...Faye.....Enrique Duff......Milner...Emre....N'Zogbia ...........Martins..Owen
  6. The problem is that, as good as that lineup looks, there are only two players you could say have genuine pace - Martins and N'Zogbia. In addition to flair and creativity, the main thing we need to add to our squad in the summer is 2-3 players quick players.
  7. Are we the slowest team in the Premiership? It's like watching a Nursing home select eleven. Fuck me!
  8. There was obviously a reason behind us not following up the Barnes bid. Perhaps he was seen as part of the youth recruitment and we considered £3m for a reserve player to be too much. Who knows! The fact that people are talking as if he would've come here and single-handedly dragged us out of the mess we're in is crazy. The board proved they were prepared to spend money by making offers for Woodgate and Sissoko (if he is to be believed), but unfortunately for us (and understandably) they didn't want to come here. Players we probably could've got are Chimbonda, Routledge, Benjani, Alves, Van Buyten, Patrik Berger etc. Is this the type of player you want? Would any of them have significantly improved us? We knew we were going to be signing any big name foreigners because Keegan said from the start that he wanted players who wouldn't need time to adapt to the Premiership. In other words current Premiership players. Well all of the better players are at teams that currently sit above us in the league and whose clubs are in better shape than we are, so why the hell would they want to come here?
  9. If Beye and Faye are back i'd go with: ...............Given Beye...Faye...Taylor...Enrique Duff...Milner...Emre...N'Zogbia .........Owen...Viduka/Shola If not: ................Given Carr...Taylor...Cacapa...Enrique Duff...Milner...Emre...N'Zogbia ..........Owen...Viduka/Shola
  10. Good post. It seems people are envious of Wenger's achievements at Arsenal yet don't want to see the same set up implemented here. Strange. Iz becoz we canna parayde dem lyek. If dey not heard of dem den they must be s*** innit?! seems like deja vue here. Under Souness we were told that it was fine to clear out the bad eggs because Alex Ferguson did, now we are being told its OK buying a load of 17 year olds because Arsene Wenger has. Quite incredible the complete rubbish that people get suckered into believing, and all because the fat b****** ate all their pies or something......... Not to mention, that Bobby Robson has been down the same path and didn't match Wenger ie Bramble, Ambrose, Viana, Gavilan, Cort, Cordone, Jeanarse, Lua Lua, Bassedas, O'Brien.............. his best buys for the club being Woodgate, Bellamy and Robert by a country mile. Agree with that. It's ok building for the future, but it should be done after the main squad is built. Arsenal didn't go out and find youngsters whilst Arsenal were s**** - they built a good team before then building the academy. We're desperately short of players who can improve what is essentially an awful premiership team. We should be looking for those players now. But Keegan has said the players he wants are not available in January, so what is he to do? Does he buy other players now for the sake of getting people in or wait until the Summer to get the players in he wants? Do you not feel you've heard and seen it all before though? I have absolutely no confidence that the players we can get in summer will be any better than the ones we could get now. We'll certainly be in a worse position in summer than we are at the moment. I don't think we will, clubs are more open to transfers in the Summer than they are now, we've seen in the past how few transfers go through in January and we had the exact same problem last January when Roeder went after Crouch and Curtis Davies, clubs don't want to sell if they're chasing Europe/promotion and you can't blame them. The other problem is our league position, you've said yourself that we're in danger of going down so why would a player want to leave a club pushing a European place to come here now with that risk still there? Come the Summer the only thing we won't have going for us is being in Europe, it's up to Keegan then to convince the better players to come here and be apart of his vision at the expense of missing out on Europe for a season. The signings of these young lads should have no impact at all on the first team or how it does business at the moment. What he said!
  11. My post was directed more at NE5 than yourself so i apologise if i've offended you.
  12. Keegan tried to sign players this month who would improve our first team, but either their clubs wouldn't sell them or they didn't want to join us. You make it sound as if they haven't been trying. We tried for Woodgate, Sissoko and god knows who else BUT THEY DIDN'T WANT TO COME HERE! Have you got special needs or something?
  13. You're wasting your time Greg. It's like banging your head against a brick wall.
  14. Who the fuck do you suggest we'd signed this month? Come up with some realistic possibilities and why they'd leave their current clubs to join us, and i'll conceded that you're right and i'm wrong.
  15. Anelka, bought for £500,000 by Wenger, sold for £22m. What was he thinking buying talented youngsters?
  16. So head-hunting a well respected scout from Real Madrid and having him sign some of the best young talent from around the world is a bad policy!? What planet are you on? If we sign 20 young prospects at 300,000 each, that's £6m - the price of one Alan Smith. Some won't make the grade but some will, and they will either play for us or be sold at a profit. If you can't see the benefit of that then you're a fool.
  17. 1. stop signing wankers. Mentally unstable players like Barton, Bellamy etc. are going to cause problems. It's in their nature 2. stop making Hollywood signings and having a fucking carnival to welcome them ala Owen. Every player should be made to feel just as important as the next. 3. insist that every player who signs for the club lives within 20 miles of the club. No exceptions 4. have regular team meals and other extra-curricular get-togethers 6. Don't sign anyone who can't speak the language 7. Get the team more involved in the community so they can appreciate how much the football club means to its fans. Get them connecting with the city As for now, god knows! We're stuck with what we've got until the summer.
  18. What will it take? Becoming a winning team again should help. It'll bring back the feel-good factor and enable everyone to relax a bit more.
  19. Language difficulties must be a massive factor as well. Enrique couldn't speak English when he first came here, how's he supposed to become mates with people when he can't converse with them. Owen fucks off in his chopper straight after training and our new midfield maestro is on bail. That can't help matters either.
  20. Why the fuck does this Chimbonda rumour keep coming up? The last thing we need is a fucking right back.
  21. Huddlestone is under-rated, and Lennon is better than N'Zogbia so i'd take them both if we were offered them.
  22. They say to us 'we want N'Zogbia', we say to them 'we want Lennon, Berbatov, Malbranque, Huddlestone etc. in exchange'. The point i'm making is that they might not be prepared to do business unless we include N'Zogbia in any deal.
