Newcastle United lose Judicial Review against HMRC
steve_69 replied to ChrisMcQuillan's topic in Football
£5m, I doubt it's the club then as if it was then it would be a lot more, too much trouble to go to for only £5m. I can't imagine Ashley pays Charnley anywhere near enough money that he's committed £5m worth of tax fraud -

HMRC say "arrests relate to £5m of suspected income tax and national insurance fraud." More on #SSNHQ -

Better the devil you know. Who do you think Ashley would replace him with, some world-renowned business brain with the humility of a saint? -

If it's to do with transfer dealings we're likely to get a pretty hefty punishment. Didn't Barcelona get a year transfer ban for something to do with dodgy transfer dealings? -
His aerial challenges were pitiful last night. I don't know if he has a problem jumping or he just couldn't be arsed but he never once looked like beating a defender in the air. Isn't that supposed to be his strength? Out of all of our players I want Mitro to succeed the most because as a character he's brilliant but I just don't think it's going to happen for him. I get that he's not suited to Rafa-style football but we were hoying balls in the box all night last night (which should be his bread & butter) and he never once looked like scoring.

I'll never trust Ashley to do the right thing. This is exactly the time he usually throws his massive 'fuck up' spanner in the works, just when we're all feeling on a high and enjoying supporting the club again. If he could just not be twat this time around we could carry this momentum into a great, feel good PL season but I can't help feeling there's anther disaster looming. I think the fat shit does it out of spite and nothing would spite us more than him shitting on Rafa. I hope to God i'm wrong but would any of us be surprised?

If we can score 4 there's no reason why we can't score twelve

Talksport is f***ing painful in general. They just talk over people and spout s**** all day long. How Darren Gough has a job in broadcasting is beyond comprehension - I bet the guy struggles to get himself dressed in the morning. I normally don't pay too much attention to it, it's normally just something on in the background in the car on my way to work. But last week they were running a poll for which Premiership team has been the most disappointing in the Champions League. Spurs were (rightly for so) leading the poll but Durham was having none of it. His choice was Leicester being the most disappointing because they only got to the quarters, which isn't acceptable for a team that won their respective league. You know at that point he's just being a cunt to work all the thick listeners up into a frenzy. I imagine most of them don't get it. I can't have it on in the background, I know at some point my ears will tune in to it and it'll wind me up

States we can't score for s***, predicts we score twice. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the N-O logic. I get what you're saying but we have struggled to score lately. That said, I think we up our game tonight and find a way to score 2 goals. I don't see any way that we can score 4-5 goals. Happy?

This is it. I'm not going to blame players for going down easy (providing there is some contact which impedes them in some way) when it's been proven time and again that players don't get penalties by staying on their feet The fucking pundits are complicit in this as well. If they started calling a dive a dive rather than supporting players who go down when they feel some contact, it wouldn't be seen as the norm. Publicly shame these diving fuckers and start putting pressure on the FA to clean the game up. Every time i hear 'there was definitely contact' I want to hurl my fucking TV out of the window. So fucking what if there was contact, it's a contact sport. If the player could have stayed on his feet but CHOSE not to, he's fucking cheating!

That challenge by Son for Tottenham and how Victor Moses reacted to it is everything I hate about modern football in a single incident. Moses could so easily have hurdled that challenge and moved into a really dangerous position unimpeded but instead, he CHOSE to go down to win a penalty. He could see the challenge a couple of seconds early because Son went down so early. It's bullshit! That's a dive, if you choose to go down it's a dive. If you have no choice because the challenge is so strong, it's a penalty. People cite it as professionalism but it's fucking sickening.

We can't score for shit so I don't know what all you 4-0/5-0 predictors have been sniffing. I reckon it'll be max 2-0. Daryl Murphy and Ciaran Clark to score

Yeah, what the fuck is a Stormzy?

The more time passes, the more people seem to forget just how terrible Mike Williamson was. He was literally one of the worst CBs i've ever seen.
-
The best I can say about him is that he didn't give away any stupid freekicks and him blocking that quick throw was the most significant contribution he's made in a game all season. If it wasn't for his hair he'd be completely invisible.

It sort of feels like the reverse of the Premier League in terms of refereeing decisions in this league. In the Premier League the big teams do seem to get a lot more big decisions going their way. In this league we're undoubtedly the big fish and we seem to be on the wrong end of ALL the big decisions. It's like we're being singled out for special treatment in order to give the underdogs more of a chance.

Straight off the training ground that one.

We needed to make changes at half time FFS! What the fuck is he waiting for?
-
That miss was unforgiveable! Atsu's was bad but that was a total gift. If we're not going to score those chances we won't score at all
-
Diame's first touch is worse than mine. There's hope for me yet

I understand the reason for the Gouffran up front experiment but it isn't working at all. Rafa needs to figure out how to get the best out of a traditional CF pretty fucking sharpish or we're sunk.

Probably the best thing I've ever seen Colback do in a Newcastle shirt.

We've got absolutely fuck all idea going forward.
