More than Thauvin and Obertan.

It is if you place any value on the opinion of the manager. I really like Pochettino as a manager. He's currently driving Andros up with a big f*** off smile on his face. Is that a positive thing? Depends on the way you play tbh. Townsend is very direct and that might not suit how Pochettino wants to play. There are loads of reasons a manager might let a player leave, it doesn't automatically mean the player is shit. I'm pretty sure Towsend had a big falling out with some of the backroom staff so that might have something to do with it? The other thing to bear in mind is that we're battling relegation and Spurs are fighting for the Champions League. Maybe Townsend is good enough for a mid-table team but not a top 4-5 team.

We have no wingers so I disagree. We have a centre forward who gets no service at all, we have no pace in the team and Townsend potentially provides both of these. He might not be your cup of tea but we need decent, pacy wide players.
-
There's no pleasing people on here. We're splashing the cash, showing we're prepared to alter the transfer policy and giving the manager more of a say in who we sign. Surely these are positive things?
-
I don't know where all the negativity is coming from. He did well for Spurs for a while before they changed their playing style and he's done well for England as well. He can cross a ball and score goals and we need both of those things. £12m is a bit of a pisstake but who cares?! We need players who can make an impact now not next season, and if Townsend can do that (and i think he can) the money is irrelevant. I don't care if we keep him for the rest of this season and sell him in the summer for £2m. If he helps us stay up it will have been a worthwhile signing
-
He's on Chelsea wages which i'm pretty sure we won't be prepared to match on a permanent contract. He also won't fall for the "play well for us and you could earn a move to a bigger club" line again. If it's a loan, I reckon that's all it would be

"Newcastle are thought to have tabled a club-record £18m bid for Berahino, which would surpass the £17m they paid Real Madrid for Michael Owen back in 2005. " From that Daily Fail article

I love Crouch. Seems a great lad and he'd probably finish some of the chances Mitrovic keeps wasting.
-
David Silva thrives in this league and he a piss-weak dwarf. In fact, the same goes for Hwan Mata. Amazing what proper management can do.
-
The top pros all have huge egos as well so they'd back themselves to break into the first team and hold down a starting place.
-
He did manage Cabella though, who was arguably the more talented player. If he had managed Thauvin the lad would probably be stacking shelves in Tesco by now.
-
So is getting relegated from the Premier League Ashley, you enormous dickhead
-
Unfortunately we're not in a position where we can wait for him to come good. We're relying on him to score goals now. If we sign a proven goalscorer in the January transfer window we can hopefully get into a safer league position where Mitro's misses aren't so costly and worrying. Take the pressure off him a bit and watch him develop into the striker we know he can be.

Is Wenger wearing a tracksuit?!

We're going to lose this. Never been so sure of anything in my life. Couldn't hit a fucking barn door
-
Where have we heard that sort of shit before?!
-
Yeah but this time there's £60m of TV money at stake. In the past they've been patient but i'm not so sure they will this time around

I'm going to go against the tide a bit here and stick up for him.....sort of. To Colback's credit he always shows for the ball. He does fuck all with it mind but he does help out his team mates by always being available for a pass. He's busy in that midfield area, has plenty of touches and understands the need to pass and move, something that can't be said for a lot of players we have and have had in the past. After that though, there's not a lot going on. If McLaren really was this wonder coach we're constantly told he is I reckon he could mould Colback into a useful player because the fundamentals are there to build on. Sadly we're not seeing any improvement at all - he's the same player now as he was when we signed him 2 years ago?.
-
Steve, you're talking shit mate.
-
Time to go pal. Over cautious, no plan b, shit selections, can't motivate the team to perform against lesser teams, no signs of recovery etc. etc. The only way is down I'm afraid
-
He's been away now for almost a year, and we're still going on about him?! Visit the Ben Arfa thread, watch the video and you'll understand why he's still being talked about. Pardew should never be forgiven for what he robbed us of

Love that guy
