So you'd be happy with McLaren as well then

The alternatives are Remi Garde, Thomas Tuchel, Paco Jemez, Christophe Galtier....... No they're not. In a different time, on a different planet under a different owner they would be but under this prick the alternative is John Carver. It seems this situation needs some clarification because clearly some of you can't read: Do i want John Carver as manager? No Do i want Steve McLaren as manager? No Do i want John McLaren as manager? No Do i want Steve Carver as manager? No Would i be HAPPY with either of them? No If i HAD TO choose between the two, who would i go for? McLaren 100% Are there any other candidates i would prefer to get the job? Yes, at least 30 including Garde, Klopp, Keegan, Galtier, Ancelotti........ Any questions? Show me one example of where I have used the words 'happy' and 'settle' in any of my posts. Is it any wonder people assume we're all thick? There you go. And we don't assume you're thick any more than we assume the sky is blue. Nice example. You might want to read it again and then refer back to your previous comment. I wasn't talking about you or anyone else on here assuming i'm thick. I was referring to outsiders thinking Geordies are all thick and if they read most of this thread they'd have the perfect evidence to back up their argument.

Nor mine but i'd rather see as much of the club's integrity maintained so that when a new owner finally comes along and saves us from this pit of despair we at least have something salvagable. As i said in my previous post, McLaren wouldn't represent excitement but his appoimtment would be something of a relief. If you didn't still support the team, surely you wouldn't be on this forum? Well unless you have a spare £350m lying around you're just going to have to endure it like the rest of us or find a new team to follow. We know that NUFC under Ashley is a shadow of what it could and should be and that supporting the team is hard f***ing work but if you turn your back on them completely then the fat c*** really has won. I'm not accepting Ashley's way any more than you are but seeing the team managed by a safe pair of hands with some management credentials would be infinitely preferable to seeing it managed by Pardew, Carver, Kinnear etc. What absurd logic, this forum is more than just NUFC. Utterly stupid to suggest i would leave just because i am not watchig our games What on earth would Ashley sell for if the majority agreed with you and were happy with SMC acheiving his PL status each year by simply existing in the bottom half? Enough fans accepting this bullshit and him getting TV cash wouldnt change a f***ing thing. Dont get how you can say you agree aboutAshley yet accept more mediocrity as its a paler shade of s**** It seems you have missed my point entirely. In fact, you've missed it so badly you're in another fucking stratosphere. I protest against this regime in every way it is in my power to do and i will continue to stay away and put no money into the club while Ashley is here. But NUFC is in my blood. I'd love to not support the team but sadly that isn't an option. Do i enjoy watching us? Nope. I hope the protests ramp up to such a degree that Ashley has no option but to sell up. I hope the man goes bankrupt and suffers a horrible, painful death. But in the meantime, the team still has to play football in whatever league we find ourselves in and i'd rather it was managed by an actual football manager than a walking potato. If I had it my way we'd hire Rafa, spend some money on decent players and aim for Europe again. But i don't have it my way do i? I don't accept mediocrity any more than you do. If you can think of something more I can do to change the mentality of the owner, i'm all ears pal?

I agree, but there is, obviously, only one way we can rise from mediocrity, and that is by change of ownership. Until theres someone prepared to buy us and fans are prepared to walk away completely(already some saying its a step up on Carver so will stay) there will be no change imo I haven't set foot in the stadium for over 2 years, i haven't bought a shirt for 6-7 years and I won't do either until there's a change of ownership. But that doesn't stop me supporting the team and when they play I want them to play well and win. That will never change. I have accepted that under Ashley we will never challenge and we'll continue to lurch from disaster to disaster so when we're offered a possible ray of light in the form of an actual football manager who has some credentials forgive me for being positive. It's not a feeling of excitement, it's more a feeling of relief. The alternative is certain relegation under a cretin who continually embarasses everyone associated with this club like his mentor before him.

    Steve McClaren

Exactly. Lets just all accept a lesser form of mediocrity......thats the true spirit of football He's an actual football manager who has actually won some stuff. That represents progress. Is it the most inspiring appointment we could make? Absolutely not but i'd bite both your arms and legs off to get him here because if Carver is in charge beyond Sunday i'm in danger of hanging myself.

    Steve McClaren

I can't believe any of you would seriously moan about McLaren when you know what the alternative is.
  10. Dat mid-table. Man, if we get someone half decent we might even get as high as eighth. f***ing hell, as long as we avoid europe and the cups and anything designed to incite even the vaguest spark of excitement we might be able to get paid play in the bestest league in the world for years. I'm positively jizzing. If you guaranteed me 3 more seasons of midtable finishes and no cup runs or relegation and eff knows what... i'd take the relegation. Yep, absolute no-brainer. Ambition to get out of the Championship or mundane seasons of nothingness in the Premier League. Give me the Championship any day.

    John Carver

I sometimes wonder if people have missed the fact he's lost nearly every game horribly. I desperately want to stop supporting this club/team.
  12. steve_69

    John Carver

Chances have taken a serious dent?!! Are you fucking mental? A fucking dent!!!!!
  13. The duds are cheap. and don't make a fuss because they are punching way above their weight
  14. steve_69

    John Carver

If he was any sort of man and fan he'd have walked away long before now after realising his beloved club was in danger. Says he's one of us and loves the club but continues to send it down the shitter - tells you everything you need to know.
  15. Highlights exactly how much he sees NUFC as a business - surrounds himself with proven finance-minded people he knows and trusts at board level and consistently hires complete duds to run the football side. Absolute cunt!
  16. That's the team I would put out. No Raylor or Williamson in there though so there's no chance of it happening. That's surely the team anyone but a dribbling moron would put out. I fully expect to see Williamson, Raylor and Jonas in the starting lineup come Sunday
  17. Must be gutting for Hull - desperate to stay in the Premier League but will probably end up going down. Then there's us - probably stay up by the skin of our teeth and half of us would rather we went down.
  18. We're basically fucked. Fat Sam will bring a physical, aerial bombardment and we'll capitulate like a bunch of school kids. Probably worth sticking some money on a James Collins hatrick from set pieces.
  19. Nah. I'm not suggesting Beardsely should be high up on our list. I actually think the opposite is true - he shouldn't even be on our list given the number of credible managers we could go for. However, with Steve Bruce you know what you're getting - a mid-table (at best) average manager who has never done anything of note and can't manage talented foreign players. At least Beardsley has the unknown factor. He might be (and probably would be) totally shit but he might turn out to be brilliant. None of us know. I do think he'd try to play decent football though. Steve Bruce is about as 'meh' as you can get.
  20. I'd rather give Beardsley a go than hiring someone like Steve Bruce.

    John Carver

How is John Carver being mostly absolved from blame from the media in this debacle? I understand that the old boys network stick together and protect each other but this is the most blatant case of a manager being to blame that I have ever witnessed. Regardless of what you think about Pardew, this same group of players was picking up points under his management and yet, under Carver we are now the worst team in the league by a distance.......and according to the media, it's the players who are 100% at fault. They're even sympathetic towards Carver in some instances. He didn't even get that much of a shoe-ing for the 'best coach in the Premier League' comment. It's criminally bad, misleading reporting and it makes me fucking sick.
  22. ridiculous to think that all we need to be certain of staying up is a home win against a lacklustre West Ham team.
  23. i think they also said Steve Bruce has never beaten Man Utd as a manager. It's perfectly set up for the fat sack of spuds to break his own duck on Saturday and send us down.
  24. Have they got any big lads? We can't deal with big lads.
