There's no way he saved Pardew's job. He was never in any danger of losing it regardless of how utterly shit we were

    John Carver

The mostly silent 30,000 apethic fans made less noise than the usual 53,000 mostly silent, apethic fans.

Just read this article by The Secret Footballer and so much of it rings true about our current situation: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2012/mar/09/the-secret-footballer
  4. The fact that McLaren's tactics extend beyond lumping it up to a big man and playing every set penis to a hapless lumux at the far post is a step in the right direction. We might actually be able to buy in to the football again even if we continue to detest the regime. That's a small positive but a positive nonetheless.
  5. The mere fact that these arseholes seem to be considering Carver for any position other than Head of Cone Placement shows exactly how much they know about football. His record is fucking appalling, his tactics are unidentifiable, his ability to motivate players is non-existent, his team selections are awful and he has absolutely no record of success in football management to point to. There is literally no reason at all to have him in the running. I'd welcome McLaren with open arms given the alternative means almost certain relegation
  6. I'm not sure 'safe option' is the right description for the succession of utter gash we've had at the helm - Kinnear, Shearer, Pardew, Carver. Even Hughton was a risky appointment at the time. They need to stop taking stupid gambles, look at the credentials of the available candidates and make a decision based on merit for once.
  7. I'd take Claridge over Carver

It's a massive gamble keeping him in the job until the end of the season. There's a very good chance we won't pick up another point and we're playing two of the relegation battlers. Lose those games and we're in trouble. They'd be better off giving Beardsley a try for the last few games - might get a new manager bounce.
  9. Didn't realise Ryan Taylor was playing until just after half time. Then he proceeded to have an absolute clusterfuck of a game once i twigged.
  10. that's a guaranteed 3 points for each of them which closes the gap significantly

When he got the job I posted on here that I wanted him to do just enough to keep us up and nothing more and that I would accept a squeaky bum end to the season just to ensure he doesn't get the job on a permanent basis. Well, so far so good. To be honest though, he is even shitter than I thought he was going to be and I am genuinely concerned that we might go down.
  12. Just think how many more papers they'd sell if they represented the views of the masses rather than toe-ing the party line to avoid a club ban. Fucking sickening cowardice from what should be one of the biggest fan mouthpieces in the area. Take the ban, print what you think is right and become the poster boys for the protest against our horrific regime rather than being controlled by it you fucking pussies.
  13. Great Tweet by @shiteseats today. Caption: Know your strength Mags
  14. Worst performance i can remember in recent times. Absolutely fucking pathetic!

One more win and we should be safe. That's all i am hoping for before now and the end of the season - 1 solitary win. With Cisse out, Perez and Cabella benched and Carver's clueless tactics being employed we've got no chance of a top 10 finish so 38 points, end up around 15th-16th and hopefully the tits at the top will see that it doesn't make business sense and is too big a risk to give licky the job full-time. I still have no doubt, however, that Ashley will insist that the new manager works with our current coaching setup.
  16. Wait for the scores to be updated man. Let me enjoy my moment you fucking killjoy!

    Erm, fuck off John
  18. Fuck me, i got 65 points and when i looked at the Highest total it was 65 points. First time that's happened ever
  19. Randy Andy O'. He was at least a threat in the oppositions box. Scored a pretty lush goal in that Carver 3-0 v Blackburn too iirc. Rate O'Brien over Williamson. Can't think of many worse CBs. I rate Tina O'Brien over Williamson. He's one of the worst CBs we have had in the Premier League, if not the worst
  20. Yeah, I have to admit i'm a fan as well. He's not afraid to speak his mind and rock the boat a bit, which is a rarety among footballers, ex-pros, managers, commentators etc. He's also not just another conveyor belt, boring as fuck 'game of two halves' mong either. I appreciate he's not everyone's cup of tea and the reasons why are pretty understandable but personally I think his attitude within the game is pretty refreshing.
  21. Problem is though, his new team haven't been fully Pardewed yet so they're still playing with a bit of freedom and passion. Our lot have been Pardewed and now Carvered.
  22. Carver is basically saying we're likely to get beaten by Palace because Pardew and his staff know our team inside and out. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-boss-quips-hes-8608021?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter Nice attitude John. How about changing the tactics, training and personnel to do something he's not expecting you toilet!?
  23. I'd almost forgotten what an attacking subsitution looks like.
