  1. The PL were never going to approve the deal, assurances or arbitration or whatever. If they weren't satisfied with the information that the Saudis provided, they should have rejected the bid. But they didn't. Because they knew they had no reason to reject it based on their own O&D's test. They needed MBS on the ticket, so they could link the takeover to piracy and reject it. PIF/Staveley/Ashley knew this, which is why it is now being played out in public. To try and shame the PL into making a decision that either a) results in an appeal/legal claim or b) pisses off their money men a

    Transfer rumours

Was really good until he did his ACL I think Meets the scouting test. Sign him up.
  3. He wouldn't be, from what I read. Money in the club, but no shares, control or influence.
  4. This could genuinely be from a sketch show
  5. A woman at the London rally was just interviewed live on BBC News. She blamed homeless soldiers living on our streets on the EU. Peak Brexit.
  6. It's obviously clear this leak hasn't come from Ashley/Bishop, just like all the others. The issue has never been interest in the club. The interest is there. It's the unwilling seller that has stopped it from happening.
  7. The takeover bath is on standby.
  8. We were awful in the second half. When Carroll and ASM came on, nobody had a clue where anyone was playing. Carroll was on the wing at one point ffs.
  9. It’s an incredible ruling. Some of the highest judges in the UK are basically saying that Johnson lied to, and misled, the Queen. If the Supreme Court allow this to stand (which they won’t), it makes all the precious constitutional crises look like child’s play. Surely the Queen has a personal responsibility to not get scammed? If the decision is illegal, she is an accessory. There is no mechanism in our country to remove him from power if the Supreme Court uphold this ruling. The only way out would be resignation, VoNC or if enough Tories found their balls and actually stood

  11. Johnson’s entire campaign has been built on “We leave on 31 October, do or die” The party is destroyed if the election takes place in November, when we haven’t left.
  12. They’ve gone full on Brexit Party / UKIP
  13. He’s already leaning that way talking about a Common Ireland food area or whatever he said yesterday. The polling showed the vast majority of the Tories don’t care about NI, and it’d be finally delivering Brexit. With the Boris Believers and those just wanting to get Brexit done, it’d probably squeeze through the House.
  14. If he loses a vote of no confidence they then have 2 weeks to form a government. If he resigns as PM the tories have a new leadership battle, surely? I'm not sure why you're involving the queen, unless Boris refuses to resign following a vote of no confidence? Is that what you mean? That person would be able to be Leader of the Conservatives but wouldn’t be able to command the confidence of Parliament since Boris sacked half his MPs, so there’s no saying the Queen could appoint them as PM.

    Match tickets

"the lads" always makes me cringe.
  16. Johnson is leader of the party, though. Can hire and fire who he likes. And he'll do anything Cummings says to stay in power.
  17. In fairness, if you discount the goals we've conceded so far, we're unbeaten. Great start to the season.
  18. Farage is going into government if we have a general election IMO. Boris pitches himself as the man who wants Brexit, against the enemies of the people who want to stop it. He has to do a deal with the Brexit party on not contesting important seats, Farage ends up in coalition. No deal Brexit, decade of recession and racism. Nice. Johnson can’t have an election before 31 October for this very reason or he’d have called one by now.
  19. Look at this, and always remember, Bruce called this summer's transfer business "remarkable".
  20. All the best things lead to civil unrest, no?
  21. It’s all bluster and bravado that he knows will leave to nothing. There’ll be negotiations, the EU will give him some relatively irrelevant declaration that changes nothing but he’ll pretend that he’s slain the dragon. He’ll return to Parliament on 24th October with exactly the same deal as May’s, but called The Great Exit Reconciliation. Add up the deal’s supporters, with Boris soldiers, Labour rebels, those that are terrified about the prospect of no deal and those that just want to see this thing done, and he’ll have enough to squeeze the deal through. By the end of the transition per
