  1. What's wrong with the comms it's a clear handball!
  2. Nicely pointed out. That one is my second fav, like.
  3. Would prefer to keep the current badge to be honest. It's great.
  4. Never a pen but great finish from Prowse.
  5. He finished the quote saying that he has nothing but positive things to say about the club and that he has made loads of friends here and hopes we get Europe.
  6. During the winter months In the early noughties I used to buy a mince pie at half time, but they were so hot I used to use them as hand warmers in my pocket for most of the second half then eat them in the last 10 minutes. Worked a treat.
  7. Barely heard the wolves fans where I was sitting opposite.
  8. Wolves was my first game since Brentford and I have to say the atmosphere was better than I expected though not great by any means. I was sat in the Gallowgate/Milburn corner. Most around me were sat in silence all game and this one lad a few along from me seemed pleased to have someone to join in with him. Wolves fans were atrocious I thought. Barely heard them throughout apart from after they scored but even then they were poor but I think it's clear as day that our issue will be solved by a singing section or two. Like minded fans have to be together. Good noise can come from the small sections of vocal support we have already and I am positive of what could be achieved with a couple of designated areas and that is even without safe standing. One thing I don't like is the lack of Blaydon Races. How has this happened? We sang it first half but never again not even after the winner when it should have been belted out. But overall there is a good base to work with.
  9. The most skillful player I have ever seen play for us. The first time I saw Bruno play in the flesh was this season at home to Brentford. I just remember being in awe of him. Last time I felt like that was watching Ben Arfa. The Bolton goal still fills me with unbridled joy.
  10. Any ideas on when we might see any plans for expansion?
  11. Absolutely. Bunch of sound lads. Really enjoy listening to them. They deserve to be far bigger tbh.
  12. Glad you like it. Was in the club shop the other day and they had that shirt for £65.

Not without the glass centre marra.
  14. I didn't think he was that bad. I mean most of the time when he gives the ball away it is through trying to force something positive to happen. He goes for the harder more risky pass. I am happy with that tbh. Love the bloke.
  15. It's like every time he gets the ball in space in the opponent's half he doesn't anticipate someone coming in from behind him to nick it away. It happens time and again, especially against the top teams.
  16. There has been some real good effort. Wilson at least is putting himself about.
  17. Wish we would shoot more man, about three chances to have a go first half and we didn't.
  18. From what I have read, the pubs around Kings Cross were as busy as they have ever been according to the landlords. One ran out of beer and another said that they took four times what they would normally take on a weekend. Newcastle fans were well behaved and the weekend went "completely stress free".
  19. I thought the atmosphere at Liverpool v Madrid was pretty electric first half to be honest.
  20. @Heron is the embodiment of how every fan on this forum feels about this football club and this city. Speaking for myself I can say that he has the balls and wherewithal to really make a difference. Something I could only dream of. I know he has said that he will put in a word (and that's great) and that he wants to focus on wor flags but in my opinion the flags and atmosphere go hand in hand. His experience and knowledge of dealing with the club and his all round passion for NUFC is unmatched and could be key if he were to take some kind of a formal lead role in any plans going forward. I realise that it is easy for me to say this and that he is probably sick of all the effort but the man's a star and there is no one better.
  21. Well, I can only speak for myself and I am one of them. I have seen estimates that up to 100k toon fans were in London so it makes sense. I had no chance of a ticket but just had to be there to experience it. I know on my train back Sunday morning there were quite a few people who had done the same as me. I spoke to a few and they were all gutted to not be going to the match but were glad to feel that connection to the club and pride again. I also mentioned in another thread that there were seven of my mates who are proper old school mags been going for decades who were down and set the pubs ablaze pre match but had to watch the game in a boozer. I can probably count in double figures the number of people I know who sacked it off when Ashley killed everything we know and love about this club who are actively trying to get back in amongst it. Hell I am even having thoughts of getting my ST back.
  22. Superb cause. One I will fully back in any way that I can. Regarding the crap atmosphere at Wembley, I know Rangers had a similar issue in Seville last year. The place was bouncing the day before, like London was for us on the Saturday but when they got in the ground there was hardly any singing. A lot blamed it on people who never go to Ibrox but somehow ending up getting tickets etc etc and that people had shot their bolt the day beforehand. This may have played a part for us too although it wasn't 40c at Wembley Not having the Blaydon Races ringing out at Wembley is criminal and I have noticed that in general it doesn't get much of an airing at all these days although one thing I liked about the Saturday night in London was that it WAS being sung and crucially it was sang at a MUCH slower pace than you would hear in the ground. It was brilliant to be honest. I noticed more than one group of none football fans in the bars in awe, just gazing around when it was ringing out. Ultimately, we would all love the whole Gallowgate to be a singing/standing section but I think having just 2k or preferably 3k in each stand at a total of 8 or 12k would really get the place rocking. We know how loud 3k away fans can be now imagine having that in each stand but full of our own singers it would be epic.
  23. From my experience the "Lost 10k" is certainly a real thing. I went to London on Saturday to meet up with nine lads in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. These are black and white daft blokes most of whom were at the 76 and 90s finals. They went home and away for years but for whatever reason gave up in the mid to late Ashley years and out of the nine lads only two had tickets for the match. We sang ourselves hoarse around the bars of London on Saturday and would have done exactly the same at Wembley but instead they were stuck in some London pub and I was back up to Newcastle. It is what it is and I certainly have no ill feelings to any new fans who have started going in the last few years but I am sure this kind of situation was replicated time and again in London at the weekend. So many of the old hardcore lads just simply aren't able to get in anymore.
  24. Someone give Mike a job over here ffs. Ridiculous that he's had to go back tbh.
