Not even remotely worried about England coming for him. He's a manager who seems to thrive in the day-to-day stuff, building a squad, preparing for each fixture in ridiculous detail and training his squad each day. Managing a country seems like the exact gig he would never ever even consider. A game or 2 every 3 months? Fuck that

Not seen too much of Pulisic tbh so not best placed to make any type of judgement on him but I don't recall seeing take a single game by the scruff of the neck and drag his team through it. Maybe he's not that type of player or I've missed the times he has done it but I'm far from convinced and if he's going to cost a few bob then I think I'd prefer to look elsewhere. That said if Howe wants him and we end up getting him then he'll get my full support obviously. I trust the manager and trust the scouts and recruitment team to choose their targets carefully.

Refusing to even discuss things that are happening at NUFC is ultimate humiliation for them. I get the sportswashing thing, it's absolutely the case that it's what they're trying to do but to not even entertain any discussion abut it (unless it's 11 year old piss-taking standard drivel) is an acceptance/coping mechanism thing. If you don't allow it to be discussed the you're only 1 stage away from sticking your fingers in your ears and screaming lalalalalalalalalala like a toddler It's absolutely brilliant. Don't like it so you refuse to discuss it so you don't have to face the reality of it all. Flawless logic

Wonder what the room service is like?

ASM casually looking like he could punch the cunt out of 99.8% of the GB prison population there

It was the compulsory shit-eating grin every time he screwed a simple chance 5 yards wide, or lazily jogged 4 yards offside whilst looking to walk in behind the CBs for me. Easily the most frustrating striker every to have to watch - the whole "eeee, I've fucked that one up again, haven't I? hurhurhur". Every. Single. Time. Then he took a job working for Ashley. Tacit endorsement of his running the place into the ground. I don't hate him.... Scrub that, I do actually.

Would be a hell of a signing for Southampton and one that they should definitely make of they have any intention of staying up. He wouldn't cost too much and he'd bring so much to their side. Once again, I repeat, it's a brilliant signing for them. Ideally in the first week of January tbph

The key will be how Maguire and Stones handle M'bappe once Giroud goes off. He'll move from the left and play through the middle you'd imagine. If he runs at them late in the game... If I was Deschamps then I'd be tempted to even start M'bappe centrally and put Coman out wide of something like that. The options he has are ridiculous, they'll rightly start as favourites.
-
The experience will have done him the world of good, mixing it with the likes of Messi and Otamendi etc. He's still just a kid but he's been deeply involved in a World Cup campaign and that will help him and us when he joins officially. He's raw but he's clearly got the talent and he'll get better and better as he gets older, fitter and stronger - he could well be a little diamond

It's pretty cool to think that we've played on the same rectangular piece of grass for about 130 years. Not sure many teams in any sport can say that, 99% of the team's history and achievements are linked to that one bit of turf in the city centre, this isn't a normal club in that respect

Holland Argentina is definitely going to ET and probably pens, they're very evenly matched and it'll take something special to split them. Argentina have Messi but I don't see any Dutch equivalent so I'd back them to knock Holland out if it comes down to brass tacks
-
I think if England don't win it I'd quite like Argentina to win to tbh. Would be lush for Messi to close his career by lifting it. Not sure they will as Brazil look better but they're 3 wins away and I think there's enough talent there to win it.
-
Great save tbh, the lad couldn't have done much more in that situation
-
Good performance from the aussies so far, not particularly exciting however but it suits Australia to drag this out and slow things down. This has Argentina 1-0 written all over it though
-
Dutch controlled that tbh. Content to let the US have it safe in the knowledge they wouldn't do too much damage. Always looked like they had a few more gears they could have used if it got close. Which it did. For 3 minutes.
-
That's a killer goal to concede

Loads of space between the Dutch back 4 and their midfield 3. Still think the States will create plenty more chances yet

I think we underestimate the amount of fans who want to buy tickets to see the club, this is different to the fans who just 'follow' a club. I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest that we could get 50k+ season ticket holders if the prices were reasonable, the demand to see the club play in cup games is clearly there. These types of games sell out in hours now and the demand is currently outstripping supply. 70,000 seems about right (given sensible pricing of tickets) but that means a new stadium and if you're building a new stadium them you may as well go 80,000+ to future proof it. The club hasn't won anything domestically since 1955, any success at all and it'll still be difficult to get a ticket even at 80k. The clamour for tickets is ridiculous

Wales using their second time-out early doors

The most shocking part of all that shit is the fact he's only 44. Looks at least 64. Comfortably

Sure West Ham were similar until John Lyall went

Messi sot is boosted to evens on PP tonight gentlemen. Must-win game for them too

Still firmly believe that Southgate is that shit scared of failing that he's pushing the path of least resistance. He saw the Iran win and figured 2 draws would be enough so he went out and told them to keep a clean sheet and that was a job well done, the post match interviews confirmed it tbh. I'm also convinced that he'll set up exactly the same way on Tuesday and aim to finish on 5 points minimum to 'hopefully' win the group. Win the first game and grind out 2 draws rather than just go for the win 100% in all 3 games. Part of me hopes that Iran go eyeballs out and beats the US in a 3-2 thriller while we slog out a 0-0 with Wales whilst finishing second. It's just negative as fuck, he's got a fantastic squad - just try and win every game, play with a bit of purpose and look to win rather than simply not lose.
