Huge amount of intangibles involved for anyone to say what we should do next. Does he want to sign? Would he kick off if he doesn't get a move? How much coin do we have? Do we have other CB targets? Are Lille up for negotiating? Would 40m get him? The only ones who know are those involved directly. I've not seen him play but I've got no option but to trust those who have and are trying to buy him or others.

Looks good atm but it's not done until it's done, very wary of late bids from other clubs who can offer European football rather than a relegation battle. He would, however, be a huge first piece of the jigsaw we need to solve to get out of this mess though. We still need another 4 or 5 through the door though as we're thin anorexic in some many parts of the squad. Let's get the points on the board first.

Totally agree but I think the huge void in the middle of the park is the biggest issue right now imo. The obvious solution is to stick Pogba (or v.d Beek) in there rather than dross like Fred or Matic. Not sure where Pogba fits into this 4-2-2-2 though. They need to make some big decisions about the composition of that squad though.

Well deserved win that. Rarely looked in any bother, dominated large spells of the match and could have had a few more too.

Feels like every single Wolves player is in his own postcode and has time to take a touch and keep it moving. They're just occupying the space in between the Man U formation. Smart manager and drilled players I suppose.

Pick that fucker out. Been coming

Because he tells them exactly what they want to hear. Quinn did exactly the same, the veracity of their bullshit is irrelevant.

Every player we sign this window will have one I'd imagine, just indicative of the shite we're still very much in.

"It's done. Nothing can stop this now."

Can't get over how bad they look. 0 corners and 1 shot on target after 39 mins and even that would have been given offside had it gone in, ref just played on. Is it the players, the formation, the team selections or all 3? They look rank.

Sound the Phil Jones klaxon...

It's the easiest job in the world and he's still fucking shit at it
-
Defending his profession? Professionals are accountable for their actions and mistakes made cost them their jobs. He's a fucking shitehawk who spouts spurious shit 17 hours a day and gets away with it. What a fucking cunt man, honestly Imagine a solicitor, doctor, nurse or fireman fucking winging it every fucking day? Mistakes and errors don't matter, zero accountability for any decisions. Fuck me.

It's like watching 2 arseholes kicking the fuck out of each other, no chance I'm splitting it up, just get on with it lads. Maybe throw a hammer into the fray for a bit of spice.
-
So why don't both/either of them name the names that are in the pipeline? Easiest job in the world. Speculate furiously and constantly, claim wins if it happens and nothing happens if it doesn't. Zero accountability all round. It's an absolute racket and all about clicks rather than accuracy, I don't believe a fucking word any of them say.

You'd think that Everton will need to balance the books and that means any serious offer for Digne would surely be considered. It also suggests that £40m spent on Rafa's players means he's not going anywhere in the short term. Why would you give the boss £40m to spend if you're a) skint due to ffp and b)thinking of binning him imminently?

Better buy another nail

What grounds are they using to refuse permission to leave and play? Are they allowed to just block it and say no? Surely not.

Peak Ramsey is well in the distance from everything I've seen and read. He used to be very very good, as good as any CM we've had for decades at his peak tbh. I've just not seen enough of that recently enough to justify signing him. Put whatever his wage would have been into signing someone who's still hungry and wanting to perform. Just feels like dead money spending it on him right now.

Got to bear in mind that £30m is the cost of a good/decent PL player these days, it's not an excessive amount of money for most established PL clubs. The fact we consider it outrageous says more about how we've been run recently than the quality we're now looking at. We're now simply paying the going rate for players to improve us, the worrying thing is the number of players like this we actually need...

Getting left behind in the market here.. Other are stealing a march.. What are they waiting for??

We think we're entitled to all of the trophies we've won over the last 60 or 70 years. Apparently. Exactly.

As soon as Man U (and Spurs too) complained that they couldn't put a team out a few weeks ago and the PL, naturally, caved and postponed their fixtures it opened the door for everyone to wade in. The PL had the perfect opportunity to act decisively and they fucked it. They let themselves be railroaded into giving them exactly what they asked for (heard that one before) and now it's a bit of a shambles. They could have refused and made them play. They didn't. They could have called a circuit breaker and cancelled the League for 2 weeks. They didn't. They could have drawn up a different set of conditions needed to postpone a game. They didn't. All clubs are working to this criteria and all the crying that Southampton fans are doing counts for precisely fuck all. Suck it up, dry your eyes and get on with it.

Needs to be all systems go as regards getting the transfers in now. We've not got a meaningful game for over 2 weeks so there's no excuses to not get players into the club asap. I'm sure they're working hard on it but it needs to be the sole focus on moving the club forward now.
