Always liked Barca for the way they came through the Franco shite. Like Juventus and Ajax too. Also have a soft spot for Red Star Belgrade (as was)
-
Not sure what they discussed but can't help feeling that this meeting should have happened at least a week ago, if not sooner.

lol, its raining, sheep stay at home, perhaps sky wanted the protests to start tonite? Behind the computer, right?

A raging inferno? Thought they were all sheep for putting up with it? Make your mind up!

Newcastle United, you are ridiculous.

A hundred million? That's a lot of zero's. I think if someone offered him a deal in which he broke even, he'd take it and run a mile.

Midds giving his best impression of Mr. Cool but fuming inside Not quite. There are some things that are worth getting in a tizz about - this isn't one of them. He popped his shoulder by accident. No curses, no conspiracies, just a little bit of bad luck at an inopportune time.
-
Part and parcel of the game unfortunately. It's a bit of a blow but there's no point twisting over it. Just got to get on without him and hopefully he'll be back sooner rather than later.

Whoopsie! Must be wonderful to be as clever and knowledgeable as you. He's going to be a journalist you know Really? Thanks for letting me know.

theres no need for it but plenty of angry twats will have been on the beer Aye, that's inevitable. They can sober up in the ground though.

Regardless of the events of the last week or so, the thought of seeing Newcastle fans fighting each other is pretty disgusting. There's no need whatsoever for it and I don't think it's going to come to that. There may be the odd incident but I think the vast majority will control themselves.

I just don't see why Gerrard MUST come back in. Sure he's a good player for his club but we don't need him in this system. Put the team before the players. Not aimed at you btw. We all know he's going to come back in though, I'm just wondering if moving him 20 yards up the pitch. It's a question of picking him in the position which is going to benefit the team. Just off Rooney might just work imo. Problem is Rooney's forgotten where he's supposed to be playing (see the second half tonight for what he can do when he pushes up - he only did that after the sending off, before that he was useless). They'd both be dropping deep leaving nothing up front. A word in Rooney's shell-like is required then. That's a fair point Toojie. He's got an eye for goal though and can finish well. That was my thinking behind it anyway!

Credit where it's due, England have looked excellent tonight under Capello. Not sure what he's said to them in the last 3 days but they've dominated a very good side and made them look very very poor. Walcott's performance and Bentley coming through should finally signal the end of Beckham's England career. Barry/Lampard also looks much better than Gerrard/Lampard too. Wonder if he's thought of playing Gerrard just behind Rooney and keeping Barry/Lampard in the middle?

I like Croatia and we'll do well to come away with a point. Don't think we will though and we'll lose 2-1. The sad thing is I won't even give a shit regardless of the result. I used to love the Internationals but I've lost virtually all interest. :-[

Were there highlights of the Andorra match? Setanta are after £1million for the highlights to this game. They paid £5m for the rights and wanted to recoup 20%. Apparently only 1million people have access to the game so they've paid £5 per viewer. Out of business in a year with spending like that! Not sure about the Andorra match but I read something this morning about the lack of coverage from ITV and BBC tonight. Can't blame them like, the last few years of England games have been pretty shit in general.
-
It's on Setanta tonight with a kick off of 8.00 pm No highlights on terrestrial tv for the first time in about 40 years apparently.

Used to be a member of the Jarrow branch of the Sunderland Supporters Association. Allegedly.

He's fucked. And if he continues to play on, he'll end up crippled.

Most odd that the Daily Mail, of all papers, should be the first to pick up on those comments....
