  1. Alot of young 'keepers major problem is their kicking, hopefully it'll get better the more experienced he gets.
  2. He was in the team to play as a lone striker and did everything that was asked of him by putting the ball in the back of the net. Gordon Lee used to criticise Supermac for standing on the halfway line with his hands on his hips doing **** all, but he still used to do the business at the business end of the pitch where he was supposed to. Too much emphasis on forwards tracking back these days, we won 1-0 and he scored the winner, thats his job. It's not really about him not tracking back, it's about how easily he lost the ball, and how he didn't even try to close players down in the later stages of the game when we needed to get possesion back. Not match fit, not a defender. The last thing we wanted was him flying in with a mistimed tackle, getting himself sent off and giving away a dangerous set piece. EDIT: Yes, that was tounge in cheek. Trying to show that I can be as ridiculous defending the lad as others can having a go at him.
  3. Really, what the fuck are you talking about? The Souness and Luque comparisons are bewildering, nay sorry, moronic. No impetus, desire, determination? He was playing as a lone striker in a team who went out there try and sneak a result. What did you want him to do? You're right, sorry, it is daft to compare him to players like Bergkamp and Bobby Pires. They had managers that saw they were quality and just needed time to adapt whereas we have a manager who just plain doesn't like him and won't give him games to prove his worth.
  4. Very true, but that cuts both ways. How do you mean? Some people have formed opinions that he's the greatest striker ever on the same lack of appearances. I don't see anyone with half a brain saying he's the greatest striker ever. I see them getting highly annoyed that even though he did his job he's still getting slated. He needs a decent run in the side if we're to see the best of him. Lets face it, Bergkamp was shocking for the first half a season at Arsenal then he found his feet and began to rattle them in. Luque had one and half games to prove himself, his hamstring went and since then everyone has been on his back. I just think it's fairly fickle and pathetic that we have this fella marked down as a complete failure yet he's played hardly any games for us and to be fair, none in what would be his best position - playing off a striker.
  5. Very true, but that cuts both ways. How do you mean?
  6. I read something quite startling today - Luque has started 11 games for Newcastle United. I love the way how people have formed well based, factual opinions on a player who's had less than a dozen starts in his time here.
  7. You're all ****ing moronic Luque scores and still gets slated for being lazy. No fucker has taken the fact he was a lone striker in 451 formation in consideration. I can't think of any striker that looks world class when stuck upfront by themselves. The job tonight wasn't for Luque to be a world beater, it was for him to knick a goal or two and get us a result which he did. Some of you are totally missing the point and need your heads checked.
  8. See how everyone gets much nicer once you start typing properly bluewink.gif
  9. Anybody who mentions any manager of a substantial quality will be bitchslapped by me for being such a fucking loon.
  10. Shepherd puts more cash up because it's the only way he knows how to solve a problem that he caused in the first place. The sad thing is though that it appeases the fans in the short term and gives Freddy more time to pick up his dividends.
  11. Isn't Freddy the man who always holds our AGM in London so that the fans can't put their views across? better book your tickets for Jersey then.... You just try and stop me, much more picturesque than the smoke.
  12. Aye, it's brilliant having our Chairman making constant emabarrasing comments about ManUre's takeover, how we don't owe lower league clubs anything, shooting bambi etc.
  13. Isn't Freddy the man who always holds our AGM in London so that the fans can't put their views across?
  14. where the **** do you think he got the money to buy his shares in the first place? From getting Shepherd Offshore handed down to him.
  15. I've been making my statement for 19 years by not going to the matches. Soopafan tbh
  16. "We have also got to look at ourselves and may appoint a director of football to take some pressure off the manager and make sure we take advantage of modern technology." I think Freddy would rather sell up then let someone else takeover the meddling duties.
  17. http://www.myspace.com/122505829 First person to PM me gets the username and password.
  18. Once it's done i'll PM the password over to someone else so they can fuck about with it etc.
  19. How clear headed of you, when all those around are losing it too.... Are Belgravia bribing the players on the basis of a massive bonus if they get rid of Freddy? Parky best placed to address such levels of paranoia tbh. It's them damn Jews again.
  20. I'll hoy one together. I'm bored shitless.
  21. Aye, the Roeder for the Toon campaign was massive like. If it makes you feel smug though go ahead and say I told you so  backatcha tbh All them dossiers we printed. I feel like a right cunt now. I wish i'd never quit my job for the campaign.
  22. Where'd you get that picture of me? Don't protest on Wednesday but carry on with the anti-Shepherd songs.
  23. There is atleast one consortium (Belgravia) that we know is extremely intrested in NUFC but nothing has came of it because Freddy wants a ridiculous amount for his stake in the club. There are rumours of other consortiums looking at us (The local millionaires and Polygon) but nowt firm. The only thing we can hope for is that the protests draw more intrest from potential backers and makes Fat Fred desperate to sell. I don't buy into this "we've got to get inside the ground and support the team" shite. The reason Freddy has been able to feel so comfortable at the top of his perch over the years is because 52'000 have packed out the ground, rain or shine. Banners, flags and other assorted crap can only do so much but protests and low, low attendences will really make Freddy take notice. This may sound daft but why don't you protest at both games in someway? If other fans who don't read the internet see it become a regular fixture then they'll follow suit.
