Got to agree with that but the difference is that we're not jumping around like we've picked up a world beater, and many on here are cautious as we've a) not been impressed having seen him play and b) learned the lesson of not buying Sir Alex's cast-offs having been bitten on the arse in the past. Have to pray that, if we do sign him, he comes good as he'll most likely be the only right-sided winger at the club next season. Voted 'Underwhelmed'.

Wayne Routledge signs 3 year deal with Swansea
Spider Jerusalem replied to clintdempsey's topic in Football
It makes a difference to one man. It's not Alan Pardew. -
Wouldn't say that like. Out would be - Routledge, Nolan, Enrique, Carroll, Barton, Campbell (does he even count??) And in would be - Abied, Cabaye, New LB, Ba, Marveaux That's IF we only signed a replacement left back, IMO we'll get a striker as well. I don't disagree that the situation isn't good, but you could pop Gosling and Ben Arfa on the new list really. Why Ben Arfa / Gosling on the new list. Both registered players last year , taking wages from the club, having paid agents fees and signing fees to bring them in which is apparently where the Andy Caroll money has all disappeared this summer on the three free and one paid transfers. Teasy, Campbell has to be included in the summer outgoing as well as he won't have been on a low wage (plus his agent and signing fees) which could account for more than one players salary brought in this summer.

Are you sure that you posted this in the right thread? They've done similar before and had most of the questions answered of the ilk 'Mr. Ashley, your leadership of NUFC seems to have the momentum of a runaway freight train. Why are you so popular?'. There will no doubt be many hazardous questions posted, but the powderpuff ones answered and the others ignored 'due to time / printing constraints'.

Unfortunately Geordie it's neither and to cover thier own arses. They know that they have to be the 'official' voice of Newcastle United and have a zombie readership that will believe whatever horseshit is put out one day and still buy the next.

Up The Arse. (or down anyway)

Guaranteed to be honest. As well as Scotland.

Not to mention he used the 'Grand Theft Auto tactic of going round shagging whores to boost his energy level' in real life.

Columbus Crew 0-3 Newcastle United REPLAY RADIO LINK ADDED in OP

A bloke that looks like a mash-up of Steven Taylor and Ardal O'Hanlon? Will he fit in the trophy cabinet? Of course he will, the trophy was the size of ten men! -

Did we get another of these? http://i52.tinypic.com/epk4r5.jpg They're not getting this magnificent bitch back until they take Xisco back with it as well! -
I wouldn't take that site for granted - unless we didn't actually sell Martins and Bassong in 2009.
-
Are you mad man! £6.5m + agent fee + signing fee + all of the wages paid up front is at least £30m in Pardew / Lamblias maths.
-
Aye, a £6.5 million offer to 'derail' the move. Then they can say that they tried, but were unsuccessful.
-
Either I'm missing the point or Smith will still be here at the start of the season Nope, we need to change the thread title back to 'We're still fucking stuck with him' with the addition of 'until he joins Orlando next year as nobody else want to give him money and even they aren't stupid enough to pay him anywhere near what we are'.

I think everybody knows that you can improve a squad a squad cheaply, that doesn't mean that we will. Do you not think Simpson, Williamson, Tiote, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Marveaux & Ba has improved the squad cheaply? HBA, Simo & Williamson were not signed in this window. Out of the £35m I bet its about half a mill spent on players (not including wages) but surely wages should be covered by other club revenue? He is taking the p*ss and lied to us again, yes we have done good business but does that mean its okay not to spend big money on quality too? If the big quality (Gervinho? Gameiro?) are being signed by bigger/richer clubs, then there's not much we can do is there? There's not a single player in the Premier League this summer I've seen join another club for big money that I think we could have signed, or would have been worth the money. The thing that is starting to grate with me, and it appears to be with a number of others on this board, is what Skirge has alluded to are what appear to be downright lies being told by the owner and his hired representatives that a large chunk of the money made from selling Andy Carroll has been spent on agent fees for four players, the signing of three free transfer players, one player actually purchased and the wages for these four new additions and a pay rise for Chiek Tiote. However most of the 'new' outgoings can be covered from the transfer fee from one player and the wages freed up from transfers / releases from the club. Over the past couple of weeks we've also seen the 'player x will be like a new transfer' being paraded around on this board as an excuse or rationale for the lack of transfer money being spent. It is obvious that we have a number of 'players' at the club that need to be shipped out as fast as we can, but this is also being used as an excuse to not strenghten the squad. If we do not stenghen the squad after receiving a windfall like the Andy Carroll money, I wonder what excuse will be used next year after the dead wood (all signed on large contracts under Ashley) have left the club and the anger from this summer has evaporated again.

Most excellent, and true to be fair.
-
Does this new 'surplus' of players take into account the loss of Campbell and Carroll / Kuqi (as well as some fringe players), not to mention savings in the wages that they no longer incur.
-
Llambias runs the club on a daily basis, stooge or not. Running something on a daily basis can mean a lot of things - hiring booking staff, which sandwich supplier will fill up the machines each day, organising the bin collections etc. What major decisions do you think Lamblias makes autonimously? Transfer budgets? Sponsorship? OKaying transfer targets? Player wages? Very few of those, if any I'd wager.

A work of art those boots. Suitable boots for the King. http://i53.tinypic.com/102lf1s.jpg Finally an excuse for those ugly generic boots on FIFA to exist. HBA10 is getting a makeover. By sticking him in 'ugly generic boots'? To be honest, they'd look excellent in just black. Proper 'old school' football boots.

Not bothered about the man to be honest - just another Ashley stooge taking his coin to field questions in front of the media. Has absolutely no power to affect the running of the club and is just an employee on the books to deflect attention from where is should be focused.
-
Any way, cheers Steve - I did very (and I mean very) rudimentary accounts at Uni, and felt that this was rather a 'value of the business' issue rather than actual money being taken out of the bank account. Just makes you wonder where all that 'virtual money' has gone from the club to help towards a large year-on-year loss...
-
Don't bite Mick, he's either a) after a ban b) a troll c) spamming d) an utter wanker e) all of the above I'm going for d to be honest....

So you don't know then. Thank you for imparting your lack of knowledge and increasing your count.

This is one of the other things that puzzles me about accounts to be honest. The whole ammortisation thing has became come to the forefront whenever the accounts are published during the time that Ashley has been in charge as a major loss area. However, in his first year we were told that a) players were being bought outright, without installments over the players contract and that b) prior to the January transfer window in that first year we were told that they had 'discovered' a load of debt owed from transfers and paid that off so we were no longer in debt. According to the accounts from the Pardew thread, the player ammortisation loss has gone up year on year under Ashley. Tell me if I'm wrong but isn't this supposed to be based on the asset bought related to money owed on that asset over time. If we had paid outright for players since he came into the club and paid off the debt, how were the ammortisation figures not just increasing, but actually present in the accounts?
-
In your grabbed out the air accounts are you including the alledged 4 million transfer fee ( ) as well as the 3 million + saving in wages (that will cover 1 1/2 players wages in your scheme) that came from the Nolan transfer. That will surely knock us back up to a 25 m (of course minus any 'loyalty' fee) transfer budget. Unless they're making a really fucking superb training facility for the anorexic thin squad we've got.
