  1. I know how percentages work. Having a massive population is going to lead to more crime as you have a massive discrepancy in the number of people in the underclasses who either have to - or feel the need to - break the law. Plus you have to take into social aspects, don't forget that Qatar is low in the human rights league. Are you more likely to commit a crime where you'll get called a naughty boy and don't do it again or get a bloody good kick in the bollocks. Apparently a major part of Qatar's population is made up of foreign workers so that has to be taken into account as well. That's probably the crims.... Wonder what the crime rate is in Newbiggin or Seaton Deleval? Anyway, enough social commentary, this is a football forum.
  2. I thought I'd post that as the advice is just about the same for every country in the world and was admittedly trolling. However - that's some fine use of statistics there Nicked this from the fountain of mis-information known as the internet "The population of Qatar on December 2nd 2010 is approximately 865,415. (Extrapolated from a population of 1,409,000 on September 13th 2009 and a population of 907,229 on October 9th 2010.)" and "The population of the UK is approximately 61,113,205.". So thats a 2% crime rate in a country with a population more than 6000% smaller.
  3. That's what our government says as well. "There is an underlying threat from terrorism in Qatar. Attacks, although unlikely, could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers. See the Safety and Security - Terrorism section. You should maintain a high level of security awareness, particularly in public places. You should avoid large gatherings and demonstrations. " Thankfully there are no events planned that will involve large gatherings of western foreign devils then...
  4. Player - Manager - Owner by then. That way he can finally wear the number 9 shirt and play every week.
  5. Just more of the evidence of why they were surely the best option. Hopefully Iran or China can take heart from these sucessess and make a bid for 2026.
  6. There wouldn't have been f***ing vuvuzelas destroying the atmosphere in every f***ing match for a start. Probably best that England don't ever win it then. Just in case the South Africans bring their vuvuzelas with them. South Africa won't make it to WCs they're not hosting, so no. Plus the cunts wouldn't be turning up at EVERY FUCKING MATCH with them.
  7. Do they have whores and drugs too? Not sure - you'll have to get your fill in Russia I'm afraid.
  8. There wouldn't have been fucking vuvuzelas destroying the atmosphere in every fucking match for a start.
  9. Anyone outside of the bunch of corrupt fuckers that voted on this can see that Russia and Qatar are the worst options to host a competition since Josef Fritzl decided to organise a game of hide and seek. Fucking FIFA cunts.
  10. Russia. There's your proof Baba, it's the worst fucking bid of the lot.
  11. Not even through to 2nd round - fuck off you corrupt fucking cunts.
  12. I thought the same thing - he was committing an act of violent conduct while he was being shown a red card for trying to break one of Barcelona's players.
  13. To be honest, giving him 50K a week isn't that bad. Having to replace him with a player of a similar standard will cost more in transfer fees and wages.
  14. They have them already, they're called Match of the Day and Sky Sports News. Oh, I'm overlapping from the Kangaroo Court by TV thread here....
  15. First time I saw him as a pundit was on a Newcastle match where he said that a) our squad was too unbalanced and small and b) Emre while a good player wasn't suited to the Premier League. While both decent opinions at the time where both things that he was responsible for.
  16. Don't be that cruel to them. To be honest, if England don't get it then the best option for us as a whole has to be Spain / Portugal. I think most football fans would be hoping for any one but Russia.
  17. . Well, England are trying to get it by themselves and not hold it in partnership with Wales or Scotland. 52 Years since we've held one is a bit worse than that. It's easy to be glib when you are in the driving seat and the most likeley to get it, but I honestly don't think that I'll see a World Cup held in this country in my lifetime and that's pretty fucking depressing.
  18. ManUre or Chelsea away. I'm going for Chelsea as this is normally the round where ManUre draw Sheffield United at home.
  19. whats that ? never even heard about it. Of course you didn't, the had bigger media had bigger fish to fry in Joey Barton from that match. It's just more proof that the FAs policy on this is based on who Match of the Day feel the need to crucify and show repeatedly than having someone looking over the whole match and finding incidents that the referee actually missed, making the rule unfair and subjective.
  20. I'd be using video footage of the foul on Williamson by Bedtner and be saying that he was just attempting what another alleged top class referee from this league deemed to be a legal challenge, and clashed heads accidentally. To be honest though, Elmander was about as believable as that stupid twat that's currently on the news with her feinting spurts, lying down 'knocked out' to get the ref's or media's attention.
  21. From the document - "Applies to the more serious sending-off offences (violent conduct, serious foul play, spitting, offensive/insulting/abusive language or behaviour) where the match officials did not see the incident. The purpose is to put the player in the same position as if the incident had been seen by the match officials. The Compliance Department is guided by the referee’s view of whether the incident merited a dismissal." Or in other words 'Admitting thier incompetence or bias' which they are always going to do - re Rob Styles vs Habib Beye. Or Howard Fucking Webb having a word with Williamson, so he had seen something he wanted to talk to him about.
  22. That is the FAs current 'process' though - watch who the BBC or Sky whinge about and charge them unless they (a) are one of the 'big 4' or (b) excessively rich. It's the inconsistency that's pissing me off though. The rule of retrospective punishment has been unofficially changed by the FA this season to be ruled out if the ref says that he saw the incident but didn't think it was worth punishment (DeJong) when we've been told for years that it was introduced as a back up if the referee missed something untoward or gave an incorrect red card. At the weekend the ref obviously saw something, not unlike Bedtner's foul on Williamson a couple of weeks back, as he decided to have a bit of a word with the player. But then the FA step in and decide to review it? And let's face it - Howard Fucking Webb being given an opportunity to punish us yet again. The cunt isn't going to pass that up.
