Bit touchy the neet? You made a comment that the goal has swayed people's opinion, and both me and Skirge said it was more the situation that we are in. I would gladly take just getting him off the books, not to mention getting money for him which would be a bonus, as he has had a few false dawns here, but would rather have him playing for us if come the 5th September we're shoe-horning Guthrie into either of the winger roles.
-
I think it's more the fact that we are currently down to the last 18 members of our squad, there are 17 days left of the transfer window, we have no manager in place and there is no evidence that any funds being raised from last season's or this summer's transfers actually being invested in the club in the next half month.
-
Giles Barnes? Good player but has spent too much of the past two years injured - so should be perfect for us really.
-
This. I'd rather go for £5-6 million plus Nugent in makeweight for £10 million transfer.
-
Would have bitten someone's hand off for this last summer, but the way things are going he currently is better then what we have as back up - fuck all - and the cash isn't going to be going into the club. Still, at least we've got a back-up right back for five months - only one year too late you stupid fat cunt. We might get a back up left-sided full back next summer if we're lucky and if we're actually still in business.

NUFC Bird Shit Blue Asics NUFC Asics Vomit Covered Goalie Shirt (This was one of my favourites to wear going to 'Uni' in Sunderland) NUFC Shroud Of Death with Shield on back (no number) NUFC Shiney Blue Away Shirt NUFC NTL Home Shirt NUFC NTL Away Shirt (Blue) NUFC First Northern Rock Home Shirt Stopped getting them after that (the away shirts were a bit meh and the next home shirt had the shitty gold trim). England Red Shirt England White Shirt The one that I can't understand was having a Leeds United shirt when I was about eight. Both me and me brother had them, neither liked football at the time, my parents didn't like football, nobody in the family supports Leeds (my uncle is a fan of Manure but that's as close as it gets). The only reason I can think of having them is cos me mother picked them up cheap somewhere. Luckily this didn't have any adverse effects on me. That I know of.

Wouldn't know who Yellow Ledbetter was if he was stood in front of me with a big neon sign with his name pointing at him. And even then I wouldn't have a fucking clue what he did for a living. They should have got ten Newcastle fans off the street and if more than two recognised him, then accepted his reason. Wonder if the tosser still drinks in town though.....

Has been injured / banned / shit since he go here. His reputation is lower than any other player I've ever seen and he will be a marked man with the referees and will not get much going his way, no matter if it's the correct decision or not, especially with our position as the name in the Championship this year where he will be made an example of as soon as he steps slightly out of line. Peddle.
-
No he hasn't - his distribution is awful, shooting is abysmal and has had just about no end product since he got here. If we can get a fee for him and get him off the wage bill 100% then I'd bite some teams hands off.

Only saw the last 20 minutes and it looked the same old. Jonas was fucking awful and seemed incapable of either running with the ball or finding a Newcastle player with any sort of pass. Nolan, Duff and Shola just looked like passengers, and Collocini was terrifying whe any sort of ball came anywhere near to him. I just hope they earned thier wages in the previous 70 minutes. After watching this, if things don't change and if I was an opposition manager I would just be humping the ball up long and waiting for one of our defenders to innevitably fuck up as our 'defence' is all over the place.

On the eve of the new season - dont read if suicidal

It doesn't work like that though - Club x buys overpaid player and then starts ill feeling within the club when the better players are thinking 'Why is he on £60,000 while I'm on £15,000?'. -

I couldn't see us getting a couple of million for either of them though - if they do go it will be for an 'undisclosed', nominal fee. The other side of the coin is that when we dump these fuckers we need to get other players in to fill the gaps in the squad and we need any money brought in to do that. If we are only taking half of thier wages off the bill and getting next to nothing from the sale then it's not a great deal really. -
Too right - we need to close the chapter on Ashley's time here as fast as possilbe.

But that's part of the problem though as going to a Burnley, Wolves or Stoke we will end up paying half their wages after selling them on for a knockdown price. Might as well keep them if that's the case. -
Probably because he's a shit manager.......

The problem with Duff and Smith is that they're so shit the only likely was to get them out the club is to give them away - but the money that they are on probably means that we will have to subsidise thier wages to whatever team picks them up. -

I was hoping to have a manager in place by the start of the season at least. At the minute we're a rudderless ship drifting towards the waterfall. We had a shit, understrength squad last year with either one or no players to play in key positions and we are in a worse position now we have lost six players (I'm NOT including Cacapa in that) from a threadbare squad, and now news is that Guthrie is out with a hamstring injury, which will probably keep him out for a few games. -
Makes sense. Leaving to 'save your career' and end up joining Hull. Daft Cunt.
-
Sorry, but if Ashley doesn't still own the club on 1st September I'll eat my own head.
-
Can't sse what point the article is trying to make. Is it 'Evil Tycoon Newcastle Owner bastard Mike Ashley defeated by useless cunts players. The same useless cunts players that were resposible for getting the club in the shit and should understand the lavish trappings of the Premier life are behind them. Who were able to 'scrape together' £8,000 between around twenty of them, from the ill gotten gains of the last few seasons. Joey Barton probably keeps more than that in his sock!' The headline should have been 'Bastards Leech More Out Of Club!'.

Not as depressed as we have since he walked through our door.

Wonder if the Oxford English are taking candidates for the next volume. The whole of football is rotten, from the Bosman (the likes of Owen getting a team releagated and then wandering off scott free), the 'loyal' ('But I love it here and the fans love me' Martins, so it's not my fault) to the confused ('I'm staying, I'm going and it's someone else's fault' Beye) and the nobody ("I'm off to Arsenal, no Tottenham, no Wigan' Bassong / N'Zogbia (delete where applicable)).

So you want to stay. Then don't because it's going to ruin your career (of which there is 3 years left at best, not exactly the time to establish yourself in a winning club). Sorry like, if any of these cunts had any sort of professional pride, they wouldn't be abandoning the sinking ship, but pledging themselves to the club at reduced wages after the shower they produced last year. And blaming the lack of leadership is a joke, as even with a manager they were taking the piss.
