  1. Total humping for 90 minutes. The gutless wonders should give thier weeks wages to some local children's (or Sir Bobby's) charity after that. Given - 9 Butt - 0 The Rest - 2 Incapable of controlling the ball - yes, we were playing the current league leaders, but an alleged professional outfit should be more capable of actually keeping possession and actually closing down and tackling the opposition when they had it. Gerrard must have had the easiest 90 minutes of his season / career. How many teams or managers would have allowed the most influential player on the field twenty yards of space at all times. Only Newcastle and Kinnear.
  2. Judging by previous experience of the Ashley regime I'd say profit.
  3. Can we have an 'Apprehensive' or 'Let's wait until February 1st' option in the poll please?
  4. whoooo hoooooo !!! finally the madness will end. lets start backing EVERYONE!!!! http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/7084/alansmithro7.jpg The state of the club and squad at the minute mean that we will even have to give full backing to this shitehouse as well.
  5. Jimmy Nail - remember hiom saying the best thing about Newcastle was the train to London. Doesn't stop him being the first in the queue when some show requires the stereotype Geordie character. And lamenting about a big river. Can run as fast as the Metro though.
  6. After the 'charm' offensive via the national rags over the past couple of months this is no real surprise. The ball is now in Ashley's court - he has a month to prove that he is willing to invest in the club - twenty million of his own cash (as he promised he would (but hasn't so far) plus the missing Sky money would be a dream, actually ending the transfer window having spent money is a necessity. Otherwise, it's back to September for him.
  7. Man City, the players were completely f*cked after playing for most of the match with ten men (with excellent support from the crowd) , Everton was away and it was a good team performance to get an unexpected point after a bad run of form and Wigan we played utter garbage until they went down to ten men, which looked like we'd snatched the win. All different scenarios to the Stoke match as well as todays.
  8. nothing but another attempted PR exercise, like all the other bullshit including buying pints for half the bigg market You realise that there's always a purpose behind someone conducting a PR exercise? People don't just do them willy nilly. What do you think was the purpose behind this PR Exercise, and the thinking behind that? I would say it's because he's got no chance of selling the club and is stuck with us. His only option is to suck up or sell the fixtures and fittings and write off the rest. With the squad we've got the latter is looking unlikely. So your answer to the first part is to "suck up" to the fans? What about the second part? Why would he want to do that? Please don't create a circular argument by saying because he's got no choice. To be honest I thought I did give the thinking behind this. He has only two options at the minute - sit it out or have a fire sale. A fire sale is ulikely because the value of the squad that he has failed to invest in wouldn't get him that much back and that is the only real saleable asset that we have. The only real option that he has is to mke life more comfortable for himself until a couple of years down the line he is able to offload us. Sucking up to the fans seems to be working as well, as whenever he or the pro-Ashley media release one of these powder-puff 'I've been hard done by' pieces you have more and more people on this and other boards saying 'well he's not that bad a guy really'. Of course another reason is he could be trying the Jedi Mind Trick on some poor sucker looking to possibly buy us - 'This is the club you're looking for. Come on buy it, it's fucking smashing. Honest!'.

  10. I'd say his ambition when bringing in Keegan was to hoodwink the fans into buying three years worth of season tickets based on his previous relationship and relative sucess with us. When do the first payments for those come out by the way?
  11. East Stand, South Corner. Have barely heard anything all season, to be honest.
  12. Yes - because that was the first choice 11 all season. The players in bold were also here before Ashley and N'Zog will be lucky to start a match as an attacking player if Duff is available. I never got into the whole 'Keegan's been shat on' euphoria - it's the lack of any sort of real investment in the squad since Ashley arrived, coupled with the excuses and what appear to be outright lies that have come out of the club that has got my back up with him. Keegan was talking about a left-back all last season, which the hierarchy failed to deliver on, and what was Kinnear talking about a couple of weeks back - getting in a left-back! When it comes to transfer talk from Kinnear it's all starting to sound like deja-vu. Even before the season started I'd decided to give my season ticket up next year - I'ts £650+ to line the pockets of one man rather than being invested back into the club, which will be going up to around £700 next season. The whole three year ticket thing just sounded like a giant money grab. Will that money still be in the club when Ashley has gone? Another thing that has never sat right - He allegedly bragged about having 'balls of steel' in the business market, but after one protest he's put the club up for sale and issued a whiney statement telling the world that he has been threatened, kids that he took to the matches (?) have been threatened and he was to invest £20 million each year into the club (that's £40 million + you owe us at the minute then). Does that sound like the actions of a man looking to be in the club for the long haul, or have the tabloids been correct and he's been in it for a quick sale from day one, making a tidy profit in the process, with the protests being the perfect excuse to leave and make him look like the victim to the outside world.
  13. Which he has clearly done. Oh no, wait we actually have a transfer budget in the black since he came (even though we picked up £30 million + from Sky last summer as well). The comments regarding transfers from Kinnear look like he's got the same speech writing team as Keegan had from January onwards - "I'm in control", "I identify players and Wise buys them". My prediction will be more out than in thoughout January.
  14. Have the last bastion of moral outrage (The Sun or The Mirror) started a campaign to kick him out of football yet, or are those only reserved for Joey Barton.
  15. What happened to the Milner money? What happened to the three years of ST money I put in? The additional TV income? f*** all. It's been trousered by Mike Ashley Has it now? Been reading the club's books have we? Does look a bit dodgy though - even when we've been paying off the stadium debt and the mysterious extra debt that turned up this summer (even though 'he'd pulled money out of his own pocket' to clear ALL of the debt last winter), as well as actually buying players, we were making a year on year profit. In fact we were one of the few clubs making profit in the Prem and regularly in the top richest clubs in football. Over three transfer windows our budget is in the black, the Sky money is not accounted for and there is no evidence on the bargain that he made with a yet un-named third party (Satan?) to invest £20 million of his own money each season into the club. The fact that the sell to buy policy has been met with such shock over the past couple of days in the local press is the biggest suprise for me, as Ashley has shown in the past year and a half that he has zero intent on actual investment in the team.
  16. Just shows how shite the contribution from Duff has been for the past 2 1/4 seasons that the second biggest sicknote in Newcastle history is being used as a comparison.
  17. Yes he paid off debt, which then meant his company didn't have to pay interest payments and also increased the value of his asset. However he's never shown that he'll actually put in his own money for transfers. Exactly - since Mallorca are chasing around for compensation for Jonas (undisclosed fee on the transfer listings) I beleive that this shows that he came on a free, which I beleive pushes transfer dealings for the past three transfer windows into the black. We we're making a small profit year on year on the balance sheet before he came, so where is the past two years worth of 20 million pound investment, as well as the 40 million or so Sky money?
  18. If Ashley said sorry and admited he got it wrong and promised to invest would you back him? Not really - the amount of shite that has reputedly been said by him, I wouldn't trust a word that came out of his mouth - not even hello! When the time has come for him to put his hand in his pocket and invest in the squad we have had various excuses - timing of the take-over, paying off all of the club debt, player wages, paying off more of the club debt that had already been paid off but hadn't really been paid off when they said that all of the club debt had been paid off the last time. His statement when 'putting the club up for sale' said he was going to invest 20 million a year. So far in the previous three transfer windows that he has been in charge we have actually made a profit in the transfer market. We could have at least invested SOME of the reported 30 - 40 million pounds that came in last summer from SKY, but that money seems to have disappeared elsewhere.
  19. Constantly Firing the ball up the field towards Owen and / or Martins at head height vs defenders a foot taller than them. Charlie on the right and Milner on the left. Geremi at right back with no cover in front of him vs Liverpool. 4-3-3 - more like 9-0-1. (even the non-tatician Keegan managed to show the master tactician how to play this formation with the resources at hand). Spunking 12 million pound on Alan Smith and a left full back that he wouldn't play. The biggest reason for his massive failure here was his inability to get out of the negative and occaisional bully boy tactics that had worked well for him in the past, even though the personnel that he had available to him were clearly not cut out for his style of play. The only thing that kept us up last year was Keegan's last throw of the dice ATTACKING 4-3-3 with Owen dropping deep. I dread to think what formation Allerdyce would have come up with when he was down to his last fit ten players.
  20. I remember the old gag about Scotland being class on paper but shit on grass. Think that this would sum up NUFC at the minute really. Big name players who are completley fucked and finished (Butt / Duff / Geremi), absolute dogshit (Smith / Viduka) or disinterested and want away at the first opportunity (NZogbia / Martins / Owen). Add to that the big buys (or freebies) that were brought in over the summer have no experience of this league, coming from what is acknowledged as a slower league in Spain, and have walked into a complete cluster-fuck minefield created by the fuck-witted club management.
  21. Bingo! If you want respect then you've got to earn it. Unfortunately Styles is so far up his own arse he'll be going home thinking of what a great match he's had and will never, ever change his mind on a decision he's made againt us.
