Making decisions isn't the club's strong point. We'll just cross our fingers and hope Kinnear gets better and comes back. If he doesn't, we'll just leave Hughton in charge and cross our fingers that he'll do fine. If he keeps us up, we'll give him a 3 year contract. No-one seems to have the bollocks to do anything but the default decision at this club.

Because no manager worth his salt wants to work under the system Ashley has in place, we're stuck with him and he's stuck with the club. If Llambias is to be believed(), Dennis Wise is apparently glorified head scout and chief negotiator. Don't see why anyone would have a problem with that. Even given the scenario where he's lying through his teeth and the "evil dwarf" actually has control of anything, pretty much every manager who's ever managed in Italy of Spain has worked under that structure. The structure won't be an issue when finding a new manager. The fact that we're in deep shit with no money to spend might be. Wenger, Robson and Ferguson have all come out and said they wouldn't work under a system like the one it appears we have in place (if they've got the wrong end of the stick or not we don't really know, because when the club breaks its stony silence about what the system actually is it talks in contradictory riddles). I don't think there's much doubt that this 'system' has seriously narrowed our options at a time when we're not exactly going to be beating managers off with a shitty stick anyway.

As much as I'd like him here I doubt Ketsbia would be considered. Too bold a move, too adventurous and I doubt most people running the club have heard of him anyway. We need that kind of positive appointment but I can see us sending pleading letters and promises of long contracts to the likes of Venebles, Curbishly and Chris Coleman and appointing whoever's willing to take the pay cheque without rocking the boat too much.

What's Andrie doing letting her write on his website? I thought he was more of a "Get in the kitchen, make me tea and keep your fucking gob shut pet" type from his interviews.

Wonder if there are unremarkable English players (or even good english coaches who have never played professionally) who would make excellent managers but are being kept out of jobs because clubs want the a big name and appoint based on past glory and reputation on the pitch rather than if they've actually got a managerial brain. There's not many great managers English or foreign who were great players. And some cracking players (cough, Souness) turned into pretty abysmal managers. Tony Adams was a great defender and even with decent defenders in his squad he had his back line looking like a bunch of schoolkids - even pushing their offside trap up into the opponent's half at one point with predicable results.

Would be nice, was just thinking the other day how we don't really have any instantly likeable "adopted geordie" types in the mould of Pav, Nobby, Albert etc.

Boro's last 5 games are really tough for them, and include us as St James's. Reckon we could well send them down.

There are some thick twat/flash gits out there though. I don't think it's impossible, even if it was just the ref overhearing them in the tunnel or whatever. The point is, if it's the club trying to organise who misses (or doesn't miss) a certain fixture, like planning your calendar - all well and good. If it's players just looking after their own interests and fuck the club/team/supporters etc. then it's bang out of order. Wonder if people are using a bit of reverse psychology on him. "Do that again and you're going in the book", "That's OK, I'd like a booking so I get Christmas off"

The league looks so much better for now. Liking the look of our goal difference compared to the others in the relegation scrap as well.
