We're reforming the French U-21's from 2007-2009, how much gelling do they really need?

Seems a really good bloke. Agreed that he could be better and I'm sure an upgrade is out there but I can't see how it's anywhere near as pressing a priority as striker, CB cover and possibly LB just yet.

They're jounos. it's part and parcel.
-
I'd be amazed if it was a lot It's probably not more but we can guarantee more first team action and probably 5 years sounds better than the 3 or 4 they might have been offering.

Pardew ringing all the senior staff to let them know Smith's been sold back to leeds.

Pleased too but I'm reserved in my optimism about spending big sums on single players. If we top 10m for a single player this summer I'll be shocked.

PLEASE ALL READ - Premier League Fixtures (DON'T POST THEM)

I would like to go on record, for the 5th year running, as being totally against this -
If he leads them to promotion land alongside fat sam, the fee will be worth it for them. If he doesn't, till the cows come home.

only fat brave english lions have bottle according to this BNP leaflet - EVERYONE ELSE GET OUT

Why should he shut up? He's being jerked around as much as anyone! Maybe, but sniping at the Club / Owners on Twitter isn't really the best way to get his message across. The club really don't give a fuck about the players or the fans. Joey has been told he isnt wanted, the club captain, the best club captain we have had in ages is being sold, our young, local, promising striker was shipped out. Why the hell should anyone, including Barton, just bend over and take this? Ah yes, twitter, that last bastion of passive-aggressive defiance and courage. Rage against the dying of the light, Joey.

We'll have to see if they're all slated to go straight into the first team. If they are, that'll be ... interesting. If not, squad depth, yay \o/

More like the ch in chong, I think. This is correct.

Hardly a dig. Pardew in "Talk to me, Jose" plea, tbh.

Watched France vs Italy from that tourney earlier in the week - I fear for Italian football if that's their future.

Sturridge is 20m right? There's more than enough Carroll money left for that.

thought that was offside when I first saw it. nicely done.

Good run by walker there.

These kind of incentives? It's the first time I've heard of a contract extension being dependant on a club's finishing position. We could have finished Top 7 this season, given a couple of quality additions to the squad. A lot of this was based upon the goals of Nolan. The contract offer sounds like the club saying "go and show that it wasn't a one-off season" and we'll reward you for it. You can argue for/against whether this is a slap in the face or a shrewd incentive for the club captain. It's a shit incentive and a slap in the face. Nolan can give 100% all game every game and we could still finish 14th from injuries, suspensions, dodgy ref calls, gutless performances from others etc. It's not a good deal to take because so much of that final position is out of his hands. True, but also from the club's perspective, if we finish 7th then we will need a bigger squad (to cope with the additional games; making the group stage would be the minimum expectation) so the plan to keep improving upon the squad we have wouldn't be held back by Nolan staying on as he would play more than enough games (25-30) throughout the course of the league and 3 cup competitions. Also, with the higher league prize money plus the increase in tv revenue (two-fold, once from Europa matches on ITV/5ive, more of our matches will already be moved to Sunday so the possibility of them being picked up by SKY might increase as we're already quite popular with them) - the increase in Nolan's wages and the additional year would be absorbed. True, but the wire fox terrier was developed in England by fox hunting enthusiasts and is believed to be descended from a now-extinct rough-coated, black-and-tan working terrier of Wales, Derbyshire, and Durham. The breed was also thought to have been bred to chase foxes into their underground burrows; the dogs' short, strong, usually docked tails were used as handles by the hunter to pull them back out. Although it is said Queen Victoria owned one, and her son and heir, King Edward VII of Great Britain did own the wire fox terrier, Caesar, the wire fox terrier was not popular as a family pet until the 1930s, when The Thin Man series of feature films was created. Asta, the canine member of the Charles family, was a Wire-Haired Fox Terrier, and the popularity of the breed soared. Milou (Snowy) from The Adventures of Tintin comic strip is also a Wire Fox Terrier.
