Not too sure how well that would work. Pretty certain someone out there would take it a chance on it at a cut rate price and hope to repair damage by January.

I can't remember all the details but I'm pretty sure high up there was being a contrarian bastard who didn't want to look like a bandwagoner manu, arsenal or liverpool supporter. That's worked a treat, btw.

N-O and FML joint venture.

A romantic but misguided notion.

Do you own stock in a suicide prevention hotline or something?

Don't know what it was about this past weekend but I have 0 confidence in getting sold now. August 1 will be a singularity of stupidity for this club, a point past which normal human reason and logic cannot fathom the next action of the muppet in charge.

If someone offered you 21st place for next season now, would you take it?

If Ashley is out for revenge and really wants to run the club into the ground why hasn't he just boarded the whole thing up and told everyone to go home? Default on the payments to overdraft and sink us right into administration? Oh, I get it. He's trying to be clever and devious about it. So clever and devious about it in fact that people with no access to anyone in Ashleys inner circle or his accounts can play Poirot and piece it together on nothing more than daydream stories in the rags by hack journalists and paranoia fueled by their own discontent with the situation. Face it : the guy is a massive cunt but he's not Lex fucking Luthor here. He had no idea how to run a football club, panicked at trouble, made bad decisions and wants out. Wanting out it this instance is necessarily going to have collateral damage associated with it whether we like it or not (we don't). That doesn't mean said damage is his prime motivator. I'm not defending him or his actions - there is no defending them - but I really do not think he gives a flying fuck about trying to harm the fans at this point.

The new away kit takes the edge off tbf. Helps me cope.

I thought one of the virtues of capitalism was that there were no rewards for failure or incompetence. Ashley is either an exception which proves the rule or something that demonstrates that's a load of bollocks. Every virtue of an "-ism", from communism to capitalism, is only applicable in its purest form. Britain is hardly that. Ashley, however, remains a gigantic twat.

Think Crouch was the one who also answered "What would you be if you weren't a footballer?" with "A virgin."

Ugh, the chicken makhani wasn't sitting well to begin with and now this.

I've tried. But we're hurtling towards a point of no return so fast that I can't even justify a position of cautious optimism any more. It seems every day we lurch forward towards that precipice instead of inching. I almost wish apathy would take a greater hold of me and I could view all this with a sense of detached bemusement.

Are they Sunderland "fans" per se or just people who happened to have owned Sunderland at some point?

Even now I can't help but mash f5 like a hamster hitting a feed bar. Except the pellets rocket out like that vending machine scene in Maximum Overdrive. But I keep hitting it.

Paying attention to the figures he's spouting at least it sounds like he knows it would take further investment to get the club back to that value, meaning hopefully their consortium would be prepared to invest heavily immediately in getting us promoted on the first try. Could all be bunk too though. Just wish this was over already.
