I think that'd bemore accurate if we just lost all three of them. Blind hope
-
I predict a complete shock of a win, followed by defeats by Hull and Stoke - would just about sum our season up tbh.

One thing is clear, we all need to stand firm and together over this. We have 11 games to save our premiership status. That means everyone needs to be doing all they can to make results happen. Whilst we cannot control what goes on behind the scenes, or to an extent on the field, we can still support the team. Now is not the time to be worrying about how big the transfer budget is in the summer or the motives of the NUSC, but more about getting the results we need to be safe. Whilst on paper we are starring at 3 pointless home games, they really do not get much bigger than the next three home games. Time to give the team monumental support (and the management) and fight for every point we can.

Jose Enrique out for at least three weeks with hamstring injury
Dan Gleebals replied to a topic in Football
He is only relatively young, and will improve alot IMO. He clearly likes being here so I just hope people give him a chance.. He has the makings to be a great player, just needs to get some more confidence. Sadly that is not coming from the management at the moment which is a big issue, players need to feel valued. He has been a model pro since he has been here and despite the shite thrown at him he has come out with alot of credability. Alot more than can be said for some of our other overpaid shite (Shola, Smith, Viduka, Owen etc etc). We need more players of his mindset -
Who are your favourite players who never quite made it...

Llambias Q&A with Chronicle: OP updated with Thursday's articles

NE5, I am sure this has been asked of you before. IF and thats a clear IF, the Ashley regime was to actually win something in the next three years, would that comparitively speaking make this regime more or less successful that the Shepperd/Hall times in your eyes. I know the answer is fairly clear - YES, however, I suspect you would say no. Seems to me the logic of most on here is a bit more thought through than yours. Okay we had some good times under Sheppard/Hall/Keegan etc but the truth remains - we won fuck all and in the process have amased debt that could have crippled us. Football aside, that is hardly success is it? -
Draws against - Bolton, Arsenal, Chelsea (neither like the toon much) and Stoke Wins at - Hull (we owe them one), Whitepoint lane, Portsmouth, Boro (they will already be down by then) and Fulham Defeats in the rest. = 47 points Okay, optomistic, but with the players we have coming back, just about achieveable

Joe Kinnear has triple heart bypass surgery, home on Sunday
Dan Gleebals replied to JH's topic in Football
Hope he pulls though okay. On the managerial note, I cannot see the club making any kind of announcement or changes imminently or at least until Joe is through the worst of it. It would not be respectful to Joe or his family. Even if they are now planning for a new successor, I very much doubt that will come out for a couple of weeks once the initial recovery period it out of the way and Joe is back on his feet. I think this will pull the club a bit closer together - from the fans,.the players right upto the top. For all Joe's management weaknesses, no one would wish this on anyone. In an ironic kind of way, this could well help us though this difficult period. Get well soon. -
Good move, it seems the bloke is at least trying to make things right. For all his wrongs, I respect him for that. Long may it continue.

What is the protest for? To get Ashley out, he tried selling the club and couldn't, are these people that retarded they don't realise a recession is going on, Billionaires are now millionaires, just like Ashley. He tried selling it but couldn't do you want him to give away half of his worth for nowt, would you? They are still hung up on the KK issue IMO (amongst other things) Rubbish. Perhaps you might like to shed some light then?

The reduction in losses is more important to me that what we spend on players. We are clearly in the shit financially and Ashley is trying to sort this out. For all his other sins, you have to say he is being sensible here. Anyway, our budget I am sure will change according to who we let go/leaves etc. I.e. No Viduka and Owen will save a fortune in wages, however, the replacement transfer fee's are going to add up!! Personally, I think the likes of Ranger will be ready for next season and once we are safe, I am sure we will see more of him and Lua Lua - both could save us loads of money.
-
The last protests achieved alot did'nt they.
-
They were proper shite yesterday, then again Arsenal were no better. A non event of a derby IMO. They have the players, but not the team spirit - that is clear. There are worse teams out there and I cannot see them going down. For me its between - WBA, Stoke, Blackburn, Pompey and Boro. Us, Spurs, Bolton and Hull as the outsiders to go down..

Agree with this although the media would still stir it and say that the Club/Fans caused this and completely disregard the fact he had history in this department. Time to move on while we can and quickly.
