Don't under estimate the importance of having someone who can deliver a quality ball in. With Shola and Carrol we have two very tall strikers - Viduka and Oba also very very good in the air. This chap could just provide the amo that Nobby used to deliver time and time again to Shearer and co.. We have been screaming for a Nobby style delivery since he left. BTW, I am not saying he is as good as Nobby!!!

I would rather have him, Oba and Smith available than not. Viduka, when fit offers us something very different.

IMO there is no smoke without fire. However, given the dislike from the fans towards Wise before day 1, it is not hard for the media to come up with this kind of story. Either way, there seems to be little point in having a strategy to change your manager after a transfer window has shut. Then again, we have never been there before have we!!!! Fuck knows what to think. Re Shearer - he was and probably always will be the best premiership striker ever. You do not get to number 1 by chance. I think he has the personality and no doubt determination to make it to the very top in management. I just could never see him coming here 2 days after a transfer window has shut with a team that looks ready to implode.

Great, we make a 10M profit again from a transfer window... No reinvestment and no improvement really to the squad at all. To put out some wank story of 2 8M bids is just pathetic considering this was at 4PM today. They only started to seriously work on deals after Owen and Barton got injured - what happend to the rest of the window. It really is going to be a very very nervous 4 months now, fuck.

Everything else aside, if true, I think that is pretty funny personally. Even more so if he pulls couple off a "put those in ya pipe and smoke it" transfers!!! Good riddance... Lets face it, bar the odd bit of brilliance, he flaters to decieve. His attitude has been a big issue for sometime. He has got what he wants with little respect for us fans or the club. £6.5m or 6 for a player that cost £500-1m plus a player is very good business just to get the little shite out of here for good. For the likes of Nolan and Taylor - the toon is a step up - not a step down. Right now, we need players like this. Ones that want to make the mark and prove a point. Good business so far. Let Shay go and spend the money quick - I think at least then we will have a sqaud that wants to be here (so it seems).. Owen and and clear out of others in the summer and the squad might start looking a little more solid - if not spectacular.

I think I have come to the conclusion I would rather have a bigger squad and hopefully stay up versus keeping a player we all love for sentimental reasons and going down. Leaving this late in the Window though scares me as we have proven time and time again we cannot get good deals done with days to spare.

7m for Bergkamp, £3.5m for Viera, £11m for Henry, £500k for Anelka = Bar Bergkamp, big profit What we paid for Smith, Barton, Duff , Owen = Big loss (no re sale profit either) Says it all

Give the lad a chance - there is no real risk to this at all and potentially alot to gain. No fee, 4/5 month contract. We have no money, limited players and are very much at the wrong end of the table. What do people expect?

Consider Ashley would probably take IRO of £250 - 300, they would be better of straight away to the tune of at least 200M. They would not need a new ground (more money) and would there for have 200M at least to spend on decent manager and a complete overhall of the first team - with money left over. Worth 8bn or not, I think this is the better bet - come and get us please.

The only streams I have seen (not via here of course!!) were shite anyway. Back to the point, who gives a monkeys about Sky, its not as if they have not been making a killing all along. Competition for the likes of Setanta is surely worse - there monopoly is broken.
