  2. Mouthinho Arda would cap a perfect end to a miserable summer Are you referring to the weather? Take a look outside and there's your answer. Sunny here...
  3. Someone tell them its midday!? Big words, lets hope its true.

  5. Bonus he is on the bench. Nailed on to get 30 mins or so tomorrow. Will be good to have him back
  6. First home game, new season, fresh start. The fans are crucial tomorrow, SJP needs to be in good voice. Bring it on.
  7. Given full of praise for Fabricio Coloccini Aug 22 2008 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle SHAY GIVEN is banking on Newcastle United’s new-look defensive rearguard to help see off Bolton. United go into the clash boosted by a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United. And Given is looking forward to playing in front of £10m Argentinian defender Fabricio Coloccini who lines up on home soil with Steven Taylor in the heart of the defence. Given told the Chronicle: “Coloccini’s English isn’t great at the moment – it will take him a while to settle in. “But I felt going to Man United he didn’t look out of place at all. He’s a great signing for us. “Steven Taylor is still a young player and he’s still learning, he is also going to improve hopefully.” Another Premier League home debutant will be Coloccini’s South American colleague Jonas Gutierrez who is in line to face Wanderers on the back of a great performance at Old Trafford. He says: “Jonas looked very good against Valencia and he picked up where he left off at Old Trafford.” Yet Given was delighted with the all-round team display against the champions. He says: “We’ve had a great start and it could have been more than a point. “We passed the ball well and created plenty of chances. “We take into a lot of positives and a lot of credits from the Man United game. “Bolton is one to look forward to and hopefully then going on a run.” He plays in goal as well.. great buy.
  8. Do we need Arda now we have Jonas? I think not. Arda left and Guti right I'd go with that! What if Guti gets injured? Who else could unlock things for us? Milner and Zogs crossing leaves allot to be desired and Duff is a bit hit and miss despite a good pre season. Fair point, sign him

  10. Its so common sense - But we all know KK understands the squad is small, and so do the recruitment men. I trust KK, he knows what he needs and what the calibre of player is required. If the player is not avail, and we don't sign anyone, then I know KK will sort out what needs to be done after. The man isn't oblivious to what is needed - but he also, won't dare sign someone who wouldn't wear the shirt with pride. He wouldn't stand for that. I trust him, always have and always will. Like someone else wrote on here....IN KEEGAN WE TRUST. At last we have a manager that won't be signin players for the sake of it, I completely agree with this policy. The Euro's will have slowed the recruitment across Europe to an extent (although 2 of our 4 could not play in them!!!). If the players we want are not available, there is nothing we can do about it. Okay, net we have not really spent that much this summer, but I think there is money there. KK just wants to spend it WISELY!! Over 10 days to go and alot can happen in that time.
  11. Would have thought after last week and first home game etc it will be close to if not sold out. Should imagine it will be a good atmosphere as well. KK wants it to be a fortress again, who could disagree. Bring it on. They will provide a tough test but if the crowd are patient, right behind the team and we play like we did last week, we should batter them. Also, be interesting to see what the new signing section will do to improve the atmosphere as well.
  12. Time to get behind him even more that we have before. Hope he has a cracking season.
  13. Providing he has a similar character to Colocinni and Jonas, I would be very happy. Seems KK is really doing his homework about character and getting the right players in. If he falls into this catagory, that he to be a good thing. Having not played much and things not working out at Madrid, he would hopefully have a point to prove.
  14. Anyone for administering "Andy Gray is a Cock" petition. I am sure the whole of SJP would sign it!!! Maybe do a website, might be easier.
  15. Spot on. Think Colo has come into as the game has gone on. Some positive signs out there. A point or three would be a massive result for us given the score last year.
  16. Bring it on.. cannot wait. Keegan is applying his touch now and this should be the most exciting season we have had in a while. Feeling confident about this game, fancy us to get something out of it.
  17. Edit : Swap Martins for Zoggy and push Jonas out left!
  18. We have not won there for fooking years, hardly a suprise if we loose. However, I think this is the best time to play them. Some of thier key players are out (as are ours) and they often start slowly and finish strongly. If our new boys are available, it will be a massive help. I would not play Smith at all costs. Better to play 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 against this loss and hope to hit them on the break. If available: Given Baye Taylor Colo Enrique Milner Butt Guthrie Duff Jonas Zoggy Still some goals in there and they can all get back as and when required (for most of the game I would guess). Just because we got hammered last time, I think the players and KK will want to put that right this time around.
  19. Personally think he is well worth keeping. Okay, not a world star but a very useful squad player and IMO one of our better defenders last year. I sat keep him.
  20. I don't think he has trained with Newcastle yet as Given's interview in the Chron yesterday said he'd never met him! Plus, Depor would surely not let him train if the deal was not done in case he went back injured? Hence him not being at the session today either. Something clearly holding this one up.
  21. In fact, Mods, can you ban me for a few days please you wankers
  22. This Colo thing is pissing me off now. Might just turn of the PC for a few days, not read a paper, watch SSN and not speak to anyone until Sunday when the games on - then see who is or is not here.
