  1. Is Guthrie a playmaker? (serious question) I've got some sort of image in my head of him being a defensive, deep-lying playmaker, just from some of the comments off here (i've seen neither friendly). Purely just from what i've read of his alleged spreading of play/ball retention skills, etc. Am i wide of the mark with that assumption, anyone? Aye, fuck off back to York
  2. Cannot see Benny winning the league - ever. Dont know why, just have a hunch. Think it will be manure again this year, Chelsea second.
  3. Not really getting compared to alot like True. However, KK would surely have given one of the younger lads a chance if this lad was no good.
  4. For Bassong to be getting a game, he must have done okay this week I would have thought.
  5. The names are scary close! Be interesting to see how the kid does. Hope he's the find of the season but i ain't counting on him being any better than Boomsong
  6. Can we start a new forum for these "one a day doom threads"? Gettig boring now.

It strikes me that this season more than most, our squad is being pushed really hard pre-season. KK will have had his squad at the club base for almost a month before we fly off to Mallorca. Poor Managers, tactics and formations aside for the last 3-4 seasons, do people think our approach in staying local and pushing the players will pay off this season? I remember Fat Sam saying he was shocked at the condition of some of the players when he arrived. Whilst he seemed to iron out some of the injuries, I am not so sure his methods were are as thorough and "hard" as he made out. It seems (with a new fitness coach this season) the players are getting pushed really hard - and training "outstandingly" according to KK. Is it the KK effect or methods that are ensuring the team seem to be training so well? With such a small squad will this mean our players will feel it later in the season, be more prone to fatigue related injuries or will it ensure a small squad is less likely to be affected by the niggles that have plagued us in the past? Finally, thinking back, when we have been at our strongest and fittest in the past, has this coincided with better results and performance? Clearly, if these methods keep the likes of Duff, Owen and any other serial treatment junkies in top shape it has to be worth it. If it takes its toll, who knows.
  8. RIP One (half) mumped striker for the next few games. Joy. (not wishing to sound insensitive)
  9. Think he was refering to his current manager.
  10. Would like to see WBA stay up this time around. They played some good footy last year, remains to be seen if they can do it in the PL though.
  11. On a serious note, I don't think anyone should be doubting that the club know exactly what we need. Whether or not we get them, or KK has the financial clout to do it remains to be seen. At least the right things are being said. Time to ignore the press and all the speculation and see what unfolds. One thing for sure, I am sure Keegan will be getting alot more out of the current squad than the last three managed (I know it was only one game, but look at Duff for example). With a few new faces, we will be a much stronger proposition.
  12. Victoria just walked in - both clearly wishing she would fuck off.
  13. Points should be deducted, simple as. Luton get done for 30 points! Leeds, who cares. There are rules (and points deducted for other things). Same here IMO.
  14. This attitude is really starting to annoy me. Some fans seem to be supporting the manager more than the club these days. Keegan isn't a miracle worker, especially when he's only got s*** players to turn into world beaters. I say one word and you question my attitude. Who the fuck are you to judge. Keegan spreads optimism. He makes the team play better football than fatty sam. At least well enjoy it more. If I was as prejudgemental as you, I would say you need some prozak. But since I don't know shit about you, except you shit comment, I'm going to wait with my judgment. Bloody hell mate, calm down. Who needs the prozak? I meant the attitude which plenty of fans are sharing that Keegan is the reason to be happy, despite everything else at the club being shit. I just happened to quote you as you were the first to post it in this thread. do you honestly think everything else is shit? I believe 80% of the club is shit yes. Too many years of wrong decisions being made and wrong players brought in. It's going to take years to turn around, and too many people are hoping for an over-night success now the"saviour" is back. i dont think the even the most confident people think we'll have over night success. fans need something to cling onto to believe in their club, if you think 80% of the club is shit can you really blame people for looking to him for the drive and inspiration? thats what a manager's job is after all isnt it, to lead from the front and motivate us all, players and fans alike? given what he's done here before, if KK isnt enough for you to have some optimism then i reckon you should give up. and dont start putting things like "saviour" and "messiah" in quotation marks, you look like a cockney journo. 3 or 4 posts up, look at the avatar. You wonder why the press take the piss? Because we resemble nothing more than a load of cartoon characters?
  15. Only Jenas would leave his socks on playing in the sand.
  16. As I said, just a thought - not a complaint.
  17. Furry Muff. I was pointing to the fact we seem to be signing or targeting alot of player in this age bracket, put differently, should we need to sign so many in the hope one of them makes it?
