Assuming we go back up and back him I can see the club offering a new improved and longer contract, which he will accept. This is a great project for him and so far he could not be doing a better job.

Probably been said but "we can improve" after last nights performance says it all... Totally class act.

Queens Park Rangers v Newcastle United - 13/09/2016 @ 19:45

Agree, important few games coming up and will be a good indicator of how good we can be. Rotation and the right selections will be key. For me, home wins and at least a point away from home would be a great return. -
Hard to comprehend just how desperately shit we were. Seeing us look professional for the first time in literally years is hard to get your head around. Think out more attacking foodball and approach will be reserved for home games and a dont loose mentality away from home.

Can see him staying there past Jan if they are still upmtherr

Sure rafa would rather 30K fans at £10 than 20K at £15.

Installments for this fee might actually be the best option. Given we (roughly speaking) made a transfer profit of between 30 and 45M this window, pushing some of this money into the next financial year is a good thing from a corporation tax perspective.

A huge amount of activity by anyone’s standards, which you have to say is incredibly impressive. Without Rafa this would never have been the case – many of the players who left would have either stayed or left for a lot less money and a lot of dead wood would still be here as our last three muppets in charge “rated” most of them…. How he has cleared the desks is unbelievable – he could clearly see what so many of us have been saying for years, too many players who were either not good enough or simply had to move on. He has done that. The team/squad of last season was clearly not good enough and they have pretty much all gone now. Clearly, there are question marks around a number of the players who have come in being able to make the move up, assuming we go straight back up. That said, we paid low fees for most of them and a year under Rafa you would assume we would get most if not more than that back as they should improve and we shift them on. The squad is actually smaller now that it was so I just hope we have enough to cover injuries etc – it seems on paper we do. Hopefully under a more competent manager and support staff, coupled with his rotation philosophy policy, injuries will be less frequent now anyway. We clearly have surplus money now and a lower wage bill hence we will be a lot leaner when we go back up which should give us room to bring in quality. Overall, very impressed with this summer. Just got to get behind the new team now and ensure they gel as quickly as possible and we go straight back up.

Hope loads of the guests are Everton fans...being robbed for a change....
-
Hope they come 6th (or worse) and some dipper knicks his wheels.

Colback?
-
Not praising him as such but he has had one hell of a summer with players leaving, players in and new deals. Done more in this summer than his entire career to date with the club. Guess thats what you get when you employ a manager who knows what he wants and is doing.

We should bang in a loan offer for Rashford. Hardly going to get much game time under JM.
-
Might need him on Saturday now given we have no strikers.

Ouch. Not sure where goals are coming from in this one now. 4-3-3? front three of Perez, Diame and Richie? -
What's the crack here? No (as far as we know) realistic offers. People hoping they can come in with a low bid on transfer day? Will we take it or say tough shit - you were (10/10) in the world cup and Gini went for 25M - do the math.
-
Assuming Sissoko goes we are on for a tidy profit this window and a load of big wages on the books too.
-
Have not done the maths but our squad will be smaller at this rate then when we started. Concerned we are replacing to many players with Championship quality - not many feel like they will make the step up shiuld we get promoted and we are back to a squad full of shit on long term contracts.
