Unless you are invited to play in a decent tournament in the US or Asia, with decent opposition (and commercial gain), there is no point in going IMO. Especially when you are playing second rate teams that offer very little in similarities to the UK or Premiership football. Any income we derived from the trip, will surely have been minimal and compared to the lack of benefits for the players, really not worth it. I would rather see us travel around Europe playing top 6 sides, with a training base in Spain or Portugal. At the end of the day the plans would have been well cemented before SM took over so little he could have done about it. That said, by the time next week comes around we will have had plenty of time to recover so it should not be mentioned again... (but probably will).

Appreciate what you are saying but you put anyone in a work situation they are not cut out for the pressure builds and performance gets worse and worse. Add to that the Pardew/Carver effect and its hardly surprising the lads has gone backwards. He might know his own failings but there has been no one around to help him get better. We have had far worse at this club who did not give a fook.

Nothing against Mike personally. Woefully bad as a premiership player now and you cannot really blame him for the fact he was never replaced over the last 5 years. He has gone in and tried to do a job, he is just not good enough. Would not boo him, its entirely the management and clubs fault he is anywhere near the team, not his. Hope he gets a move to an appropriate level, does ok and we can move on as there is no way he should even be on the bench.
