With the 34M in the bank and the profits from 14/15 to June this year, we could easily have £50M+ to spend and still have a positive balance sheet. By definition the new season should be profitable too with the extra money coming in. I would hope they spend most of it as there is little point giving the tax man 20% each year, that pays for another player (or a training ground).

Feels even better now it has happended Get in. Think this lad will hit cult status pretty quickly. Hard not to agree with McLaren that this is another statement of where we want to go. 2-3 more at this level this summer and this season will have an excitement factor for the first time in years. I get the impression more might come over the next 2 windows as well based on his comments when he signed. Could just be the start of something new.

Agree Haidara is pretty good in the final 3rd and could be better with coaching. Just not entirely convinced he is consistent enough yet at the more important end of the pitch. I like him though and think he could definitely improve with a good run in the team.

LDJ will as well, f he can stay fit. Definitely going to need more movement from our players this season to create the space and opportunity to get the ball in. I hope we are looking for someone in a similar mould to Aaron's but not looking like it based on the majority of plausible rumours so far this summer.

Who is going to provide the ammunition this lad needs? Looks very good in the air, where is the width/service coming from? Will we rely more on Janmaat or left back to overlap more this season and provide the balls in? If so, we best be looking for a decent LB as well.

Nice, get this done and then Aymen Abdennour to go along side him as a left footed CB please. Both quick, strong, good in the air and both score a fair few goals too!

They all only have 1 year left on contracts (I think) and very unlikely any of them will be offered extensions IMO - Coo (too old), Taylor (always injured), Williamson (). Personally, I think we will aim for 2 players at CB this summer - we can then afford to let any one or two of these go, get a small fee etc. Even if they see out the remaining year of the contract its not the end of the world as only carrying extra salaries for a year and the new money kicks in etc.

Wish these rumours, any of them, would happen soon! If its true we are going for better players, sure there will be more competition but FFS, this is taking too long. Worst case, I think we need most of our business done - i.e. first team players within the next 10 days to give the some kind of chance to get to know the squad - we have a hard start to the season. They can focus on development player or what ever in August.

MYM was fantastic against high speed attackers playing football on the floor, but then he got criticised for not doing Williamson's job of beating giant strikers in the air. Seems to me our best bet would have been a big cb like Lascelles alongside someone like MYM. Shame we flogged him because Pards didn't rate could not manage him.
