Nah, he's intelligent enough (well he says it himself in his interviews at least), to know that Hughton is held in high regard by both the players and the fans. I think he'd be surprised if Hughtons name wasn't chanted tbf, it's not an attack and we haven't had a chance to voice our farewell to Hughton, or our opinion on his bastard sacking. He'll know it's not an attack on him, and he can earn his own chants down the line hopefully. He'd be rightly worried if it was still being chanted 6 months or a year down the line though.

Because one shows support to a genuinely respected manager who deserves a good send off whilst also being a big fuck you to the actions of the board. The other is telling our new manager to "Fuck off, you cunt". Get it?

West Ham agree fee in region of £15m with Liverpool for Andy Carroll

Not for me, if anything he was underated for far longer than he should have. Though he was a great all round and intelligent striker. -
Hughtons dismissal, and Pardews appointment has made this on a par with when Souness was anounced, but I have a damn sight more faith in how Pardew goes about getting a team to play decent football and as a character, than I ever had for Souness.

Go on, indulge me. What makes you think that?

I tend to agree with this. Shepherd is on the BBC website, going on about how it's our "duty to support the club". It's that attitude that allowed shysters such as him and Ashley to get away with murder. Outside the grounds a different matter, but It's the booing bollocks that gets me. I'm all for chanting Hughtons name and for the players, and having a go at Ashley again for a bit. But booing the new manager does nothing but undermine his authority and helps nobody imho, however dislikable the general view of him is at the mo.

I of course expect them to, but for me, depending on the players state of mind, I'm not worried if some of thoese players miss the game. If he doesn't have them back for the following games though... well then that would mean he can't get even get the players on board, so he'd have no chance with the rest of us.

It's all talk, but fair enough I guess. Thanks for the updates.

Hah, did the same. Used a few more words mind.

Love the guy to bits, devastated he has been been jettisoned the way he has, but.... ...Just as with anyone who leaves the club, I hope they go on to do worse that we do.

Last paragraph could have been written for Hughton 15 months ago the way some people reacted to his appointment. He got there in the end. True, though I took to Hughton immediately, just went about things logically and talked sense. Still have no idea about Pardew and am not in the mood to watch videos of him yet. We'll see... if he comes accross as as much of a prick as people say, then he'll have an even greater task than Hughton ever did for me. Hughton had more class in his little finger than most people in football management have in total. It's hard to understand why he was so hated initially. P.S. Never has your sig been more apt than this week. Agree, on both counts.

Right, now that it's set in stone, my anger has turned to resignation. I wish you all the best Mr Pardew, I genuinely hope, for the clubs sake, you can keep the players we love and move us onwards and upwards as you say. I was sickened by the circumstances leading to your appointment, but I wish you all the luck in the world. Frankly, as we stand I can't see it ever happening, but if at some point we do start singing you name with joy rather than hate, you will have earned it.

Would be fucking delighted if the players got together and refused to play for him on principle.
-
Course not, they are probably going to rake it in in lay betting. :-[

Nothing against the guy himself, but bollocks to that. It is the clubs job to get the supporters on board with their decisions. Until he or Ashley makes that happen, the sacking and subsequent hiring of him gets no respect or backing from me.
-
Cock it, knew sticking a few quid on him would bugger it up. Going to bet on Pards now.

Dig a trench round SJP. Pardew, Ashley, Llambias etc, can go dance with the crocs.

Yup, it was only the timing of that sacking that pissed me off. I don't know anyone that thought Hughton should go, not one.
