HA! I got there half an hour before the players were meant to be there, queued up for 2 and a half hours only to get near the front for them to shut the doors. I mean they did say before hand they would finish at 4pm but had they have stayed a bit longer they could have got the majority seen to. There had been little bairns standing around longer than me who still couldnt get in, devastation on their faces was heartbreaking. Good to see the club recognising they'd let some people down and have done something about it. http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,70647.0.html

When the club suggested there was little money to spend in the first place, have not confirmed an offer, and have yet to even discuss the player other than to dismiss suggestions that any contact had been made? That's a hell of an angry imagination you have there Chubby.

His tenure has a long way to go before it earns the trust of the masses by making up for the numerous disasters so far. I think it's better to judge them on each situation. That's not to say I ignore the problems of the past and the downfalls of the club's staff, but it's about giving credit where it is due. For example the January transfer window in which we secured players in the positions we needed, picking up what I consider a bargain in Wayne Routledge. Then this summer we've got 3 decent enough players, we need more, but we have 26 days left to get those players. If by September we don't have them, then I will critique the management. We're on about this situation. If the player wants to come as desperately as made out, then if we don't get him Ashley will be on the receiving end of some grief. Simple as that. Desperate to come? I'm assuming there are still no direct quotes, just tabloid tittle tattle keeping that story going?

IMO Hughton has proven himself to be quite astute at seeing what the team needs and I think it will be just as obvious to him as it is to everyone else that our main priority is a striker. I agree that Hughton is perfectly aware that we need a striker, but at the moment I'm not sure it is the biggest priority, or should be. The defense is in a horrific state following the injuries to Kadar, Perch and Taylor. They might be shit, but at least we have some cover up front.

Not overjoyed that the papers have said he's already agreed a contract. Ah well, as more backup he will have a use with all the injuries already hammering us. Just hoping for a signing that we can get a little more excited by. Pretty please Chris.

He's fantastic! Was, *cough*, well in the running for the number 9 shirt, honestly.
