Aye, he's crap and i would be disappointed if we signed him, but he's a class above what we've got at RB, shameful.
-
Nicky Butt - Probably the right candidate, but i expect him not to be here and if so only as back-up. Steven Taylor - Too young, needs a strong captain to learn off, possibly our next captain though. Shay Given - Can't command his defense, terrible position as well to give a captaincy too. Emre - Fuking hell, we are desperate. Nobby Solano - Should be used sparingly, if at RB he has too much to think about there to lead a team. Joey Barton - Natural replacement for Parker as captain and the one SA will go for. Michael Owen - Scum. Other - There is no other

They've already got Fletchers and SWPs, what they need is Rooneys and Ronaldos. I agree for liverpool to actually challenge the top 2 then they need to be buying one or two world class players and not just squd players they already have enough of those to survive a long campign on 2-3 fronts But a lot of those types of players are leaving. Zenden,Kewell & Gonzales for starters which leaves fuk all down the left, and only Pennant down the right. Garcia is another possibility but he is total hit and miss anyway. They need worldclass signings, but they'll also need the like of Benayoun to fill in the gaps. true and squad players keep getting older so I know what your saying but like us they have a list of priorities and while I feel we need to add 5-6 squad players sinse we are really short I see that the big money and energy needs to go in to the big world class big hitter type signings and then work on bringing in one or two, I really dont think they should be proud enough to act shrewd get players on loan, swap as part of deals to get rid of the shite they dont want to get better in. They dont have a bad squad but they will soon feel their "third best" slot slip away if they dont invest this year, as they cant count on the rest of the league playing catch up forever The Liverpool task this season isn't as easy as it 1st looks, especially when you've got an issue over the budget ATM. Rafa has done an average to good job spending money so far, although his reliance of La Liga must come to an end if he want to have a title race next season. EPL proven players cost though, and if he wants one or two stars on a £40m budget then he's stuck as fuk, and time is running out to capture those types of players that Liverpool desperately need. Liverpool have a good keeper & a solid defense, but a big injury to Carragher and that defense would be very stretched over the season, their strikeforce is strong but not scoring enough goals, there is not genuine goalscorer amongst them, all of them are setup/support or worker type forwards, they need someone to finish it all off on a constant basis and for a top four club, they have fuk all down the flanks. That's a lot of issues to address at once, especially on a £40m budget. we will crush them then next season...... I dunno its hard we have learned the hard way loose players in important areas and you suffer. Liverpool have not felt that to the same extent loose Gerrard and they are fucked, strikers are fine but like us something is lacking in midfield as you expect them to get more. They are really at a cross roads as much as us, being taken over does not leave them minted and while rafa will still be licking his lips at the prospect of 40+ million to help him develop the squad I agree if he wants world class it will buy him 2-3 players max not enough to cope for a full season and challenege but as many people have written there is almost a bigger gap from third to second than there is from 10-5th at the moment testiment to how powerful chelsea and manu are at the moment IMO, and this will rile Liverpool fans, there isn't much difference between the team Rafa inherited and the one he's got now. Its still a lopsided, and considering he's had the time and the money he should have a better squad. However you cannot argue with what he's done in the CL, and has brought Liverpool back to one of Europe's elite in that competition, but has in the meantimes neglected the need for certain players in a tough league, namely consistent ones. GH had a 5 year plan to deliver the league and was driven out when he didn't manage it. How long will Rafa get? What year is this 3, 4? Also Rafa started with a much better team and it wouldn't surprise me if he's spend the same in his time here as GH.

Milner is a Gary Speed in terms of fitness, just one of those players who can keep going. He'll be fine, its only an extra 3 games at the rate Lita is throwing away England's hopes!

I didn't see it but i heard he assisted.

and yet we still finished above you. Again. How many times have you finished above us in the last 15 years? 3? twice in the last three seasons. Were ashamed of were we finished, for yourselves its an achievement, nuff said.

and yet we still finished above you. Again. How many times have you finished above us in the last 15 years? 3? £65k a week to stay at Boro? 'Viduka sez no!'

Anyone going to get 'Bartoon' across the back then?

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!! POSSIBLY THE MOST STUNNING POST EVER!!! Benayoun is better than any midfielder at Tottenham at the moment. FACT!!! Put him in that liverpool team and you wait and see what happens. Have you ever seen him play? i think somewhere in between the pair of your opinions is about right. He's decent, and can turn a match, however it hasn't happened that often in his career at WHU. Is he injury prone, always seems to be struggling everytime i've read match reports? Either way, £1m is insulting, he's a £4-5m player as long as he's under contract. Look at the team he's on though? He has been playing with Harewood and Zamora up front to link up with. I think he is class and has real quality. I hope he ends up at Liverpool as it will really open up some peoples eyes. I would have him over Lennon, Malbranque, Tainio, Ghaly, Jenas etc. None of their midfielders are better than him, so i found his comment a bit rich like! Rather have Lennon as he is a talent, (inconsistent and cocky one) the rest you are right about through, although none of them are a £5m footballer on average form.
-
Lmao, thats quality. Middlesbrough must be really desperate to put over there new signing. As if all of a sudden ''thousands'' of Turks would suddenly all decide to email Middlesbrough to say congratulations Just seems like a publicity stunt to please the fans now they've lost Viduka! Thing is you know what the Turkish invasion was like around here when we dared to play one of their teams in the UEFA cup, they were having board wars between themselves, Gala Vs Fene etc... mackems.gif As soon as a Turk leaves his homeland the entire nation decides we should be honored to have such class and they'll proceed to tell us he's better than any England player in his position and when you laugh at them they become hostile and start talking about how they've shagged load of English lasses, including yer mam! So the Boro chairman better be prepared for the onslaught when Tuncay cant get in the team as he'll no doubt be like most Turkish footballers who cannot play well outside their bubble. "To Boro chairman. We hate English, i hate u, i piss on u when i see u, i shagged your mother, she was good, Turkey forever!1!!1!!" I can see it now!

Does he just make all of this up? The tone of what he says is amusing. As I've said umpteen times before, I can get verification but I need ITK infomation first. ITK's also saying tonght that Defoe is going back to Upton Park. I've been told quite possible but not definite. Not quite the same but on the same wavelength. If you are going to sign Bent it doesn't take a genius to work out Defoe is leaving and WHU are in need of one or two strikers though. That of course, is a Spuds best case scenario, the other one is the Berbatov is off to Manu, which is probably why your ITK is arming themselves with this 2+2 =7 just to ease any suspicions at the Bent move.

Not true, SBR spotted CR before Viana, but CR had made it clear he had no interest in coming to a minor team like us, so SBR told SAF to have a look at him.

how many times have we seen this though player with world at his feet and fucks it all up the hype goes to the head and they dont think they need to train or stay fit or focus they are just the dogs bollocks soon they realise they are warming up the bench too much or getting panned by the press and its too late to claw it back. I really feel he needs to go where he is played week in week out to get confidence back and then he may have a chance if not then he is dead in the water He needs a move, a move away from the people he hangs about with, i've also heard his people back home are just as bad keeping him partying and up all night at his financial expense. He needs to get a hold of his career, but even a move might not sort him out, he could be a total lost cause. It would be a nice gamble for Newcastle to take, especially with SA, i think we'd get something out of him, but Inter would still hold a huge fee for him, anything over £10m is a massive gamble, as if you take him out what people think is a problem area etc, then it turns out the problems are more deeper than that and he's unable to be rescued such as Kluivert, ya fuked.
-
I take it the lad is still going off the rails? Been way too long now if so, he's damaged goods and will have destroyed his career and wont be able to pull it back, he'll realise this too late. Amazing player and talent when fully focused, but how long ago was that?

That's a winners tan. better than a dale winton glow tbh Or Glen Roeder's 'Some mad Jamaican has just gone and stitched me with a 10" blunt joint and i seriously don't want to be talking on camera right now in case i pass out' face.
-
One big conspiracy tbh. But one i could honestly buy into, not that its going to happen though, that they are just planning in case it does.

Anything else in the Dutch leagues worth a gander at? I think we should do all our shopping this season in Germany (Especially for CB's) & Holland (possibly WB's certainly mids)

Is Ron Vlaar at the Euro U21's? He is. But Van Marwijk is Feyenoords new coach so he wouldn't let him leave that easy. Not good enough anyway. Look canny last time i saw him. Was for AZ IRRC.

Rubbish. It's not like money is all Chelsea have over us at the moment. CL football, a real chance to actually win something, an extraordinary manager, etc. He will have talked to Mourinho or other Chelsea representatives and obviously feels he will be involved in the first team sufficiently. I think this type of comment is very much sour grapes and well strange considering money is what we usually throw in our transfer targets' faces in abundance to compete with potentially more attractive clubs careerwise.. Yeah. And I think it's worth noting that Chelsea were following him for a while, which would certainly mean a lot to me anyway. Mourinho even fell out with RA because of him. Mate i just want to warn you, you've put a picture of Jermaine Jenas in your avatar. Just in case you die of embarrassment or anything. Jermaine Jenas playing for England no less There are so many scales of playing though. I'm more thinking of walking about on some grass with an England top rather than playing.
