Are Chelsea really in for him? Are they not getting Alex for a bin lid anyway? Its not like they'd need both, Ben Haim would have to accept he'd be 4th choice, possibly 5th, he's be crazy to choose the money over that. We should be offering him £40kpw, and if that isn't good enough we should certainly look elsewhere, but i hope we do get him and SA is the deciding factor.

Its a big chunk of the budget to blow on a unproven player. If Keane thinks he can get away with signing Andy O'Brien and a few more of his Irish mates then i'd be a little concerned next season. The likes of Forlan are ridiculous links, but at least this guy isn't Irish or links with manu, shows Keane does actually know there's a world outside his bubble. I reckon we should try and sell on Butt & Carr, i'm sure he'd take em as well. I agree that was something that I was really worried about, that we were only going to sign players that Keane had some connection with, but hardly any of them are realisitic. I mean Forlan was someone just taking the piss surely. One of the top scorers in La Liga also linked with Barca and now Liverpool. There was no chance of getting him. Although I don't think it will be that much of a chunk of out budget as although I don't believe all the stories of tens of millions available ( that would just be stupid) I still reckon we'll have a fair whack. Certainly more than last time. He's certainly called on his contacts hasn't he? But you can't blame him, he needed quick fixes and needed to make an impact so he went with what and who he knew. I just feel the Irish connection is being used so much with your Irish sponsorship, that you maybe opting for Irish answers as its what the Irish want. Sunderland are not Irish, but anymore of them it will be green stripes next season. Oh I agree it was good work when he came in pretty much on deadline day but for everyone he brought in to have some link was quite crazy (Edwards and John must have been recommend by Yorke) and he knew everyone else from Celtic/Man Utd/Ireland. TBF to Keane though he's not the only one with an Irish obession it was pretty much the same with Reid and McCarthy, our Irish links take the piss. Are the board and investors Irish, i obviously know Quinny is, but are the rest as well? How about coaches & scouts, i just want to get the full Irish angle on the club, if an Irish lad wants to support an EPL team, there is only one place to turn to right now.

No. Keane found out he once visited Ireland and enjoyed it, so he became his no1 target.

Last chance to get money for him, plus he's on a very high wage. Sure he had a good season last season, but i'd be surprised if that was repeated, and with the correct signings we shouldn't be relying on Butt.

Half our problems will dissapear at the back getting rid of Carr & Babayaro. I'd be delighted if both of these cretins are removed from the face of the earth, but i'll make do with a transfer out of the club, free if necessary.

How do you know this? At Newcastle we had Baba who he may know from the Nigerian team & he knows Emre from Inter. Yak lives down the road. Newcastle has large & increasing Nigerian population most working in the "FRESHEN UP TRADE" in a city centre bar bog. I saw Oba walking through Eldon Sq not long after signed & was with group of at least 8 people. At the club he became very good friends with Emre probably because they had known each other for 3 years, same religion etc. The Baba link was probably there, dunno about Yak. Isn't Emre a Muslim and Martins a Christian? Anyway, point still being Shak was joking, and you still aint picked up on that yet.

He's not very good at charades either.

Not like he hasn't had much to deal with in his 1st season is there?

I'm one of those who think the move is perfect for him. Spells out everything about him, the celebrity taking over the football yet again. But on the other side i think he could have more impact on 'soccer' than anyone in history over there. Bring the Yanks on board with football, some are even now referring it as 'English Football' (although those people could of been part of the good Americans ) and it can only do our game the world of good. More money for our league for starters, which is nice.

Martins lacks consistency, but he's only 21 ffs. If we give up on him at that age we want shooting. Last season was decent for him, this season under a manager who knows what he is doing, and with hopefully a great setup behind the scenes they can bring him on in a re-shuffled squad which is winning games and playing decent football. People are so quick to jump on our youth, its frightening.

We should sell Dyer & Owen and go for the two Italian lads.

David Beckham's spokesman insists the player has no plans to get out of his contract at LA Galaxy. Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon raised doubts over Beckham's proposed switch to America by hinting he could stay in the Spanish capital. Beckham is due to join LA Galaxy at the end of June when his contract expires at El Santiago Bernabeu. Calderon has revealed Real planned to hold talks with Beckham about extending his stay at the club following his impressive return to form. The Real supremo told the Spanish media on Sunday that there was a clause in the England midfielder's contract which could allow them to keep him. However, a spokesman for Beckham has played down the chances of the England international staying at Madrid and that the player is still committed to moving to LA. "There is no intention of getting out of the Galaxy contract," Beckham's spokesman. "David is looking forward to going to LA - but he wants to end his career at Real Madrid on a high note first, by winning the league."

Even at a kit launch, one of those tossers who wear their socks up over their knees. The Arsenal - London underground backdrop is a shite idea. Imaging getting Owen & Co sitting on SJ Metro station platform sitting on the yellow seat with bubblegum stuck to their arses!

Problem is nobody in the Championship wants him. The highest he'll go in England is League 1. Eredivisie will be much better for him playing against teams like AZ, PSV and Ajax. Also your last piont is rather silly that he should be kept in England so the fans can watch and prople can post on this board about him. Chill out, tongue in cheek etc...
-
No one answer my question yet. Is there such an agreement, and shall we do like that? Best regards I dont think they'd be able to continue the loan unless there was a window open at the time. Reregistration details would be knacked otherwise.
-
I'd rather send him to the Championship, keep him in the country and experience more of the English game. Also means we as fans can keep a better eye on him and also we'll get some random posters signing up buzzing when they realise what a talent the lad is.
-
Probably not, unless them lot are his friends and he was willing to do the move like that. But those lots are some very decent players at the very least. I hope we have a peak at one or two.
-
There are loads of great Dutch players out there we should be looking at, i would love it if we built a team of top dutch internationals. De Jong is a good player, but i'd rather have the more creative mids of Snejder (who could also be up for sale) or VDV. All 3 plus a sniff at Huntaaler (sp) & maybe Heitenga (sp) would be a great little lot to have on the books.

Sorry but Babayaro does not count as a footballer. We need to sign two LB's imo, one expensive one, and one for the future, get rid of Babayaro, even if it means releasing him on a free transfer.
-
Agree with Crumpy, bar Martins. Martins youth and power edges Bellamy out of the picture for me. A good manager with good training will be able to bring him on and overtake anything Bellamy is capable of.

Yes, yes and more yes. I hope we jump them on this one.
