think something around £3-5m-ish, but dont know the values of players in russia The Russians pay big money and expect big money back, if he's good enough to be in the NT then he's worth £10m no doubt about it. The Russian teams have forked out some mental money on only decent players in recent history. PS: They paid £4.5m for him.

If Parker wanted out, you can't play that card, mate. well, again that says a lot about the club and Fat Sam tbh, the only c*** who needed persuading left you think Dyer or Owen needed much persuading? Bollocks What? Vic, I honestly don't understand what the fuck you're getting at, mate. If a player is vocal about a change and approaches the manager for it, what is one to do? Persuade him to stay? Fine if he does, but you always know that there is some doubt in his mind. I'd rather do what's best for both parties (If, in fact, Parker did want out) and send him where he can get a fresh start. If he was forced out, that's a whole other scenario. http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2006/04/queenCAMERA200406_450x450.jpg

Bollocks If a player doesn't want to be here, then why keep him? If Parker wanted to move back to London and that was in his head, then i'm glad he's gone, when a player loses focus like that its hard to get them back, and SA saw an opportunity to get some good cash for a palyer the fans haven't really taken to as their captain. Its what most would of done in the same boat.

Which many reckoned was our best pairing last season. Daft statement considering we will be looking for other players and its the 1st June not the 1st September.

McGinog is just Sven without the scandal. I think he's worse. You could guarentee something with Sven, whatever people say, we weren't as bad as we are under McClaren. The two are lightyears apart. I think people are confusing Sven's good work with Tord Grips training methods. Sven took a serious nose dive when Grip had a heart attack and wasn't able to train the team anymore. What dip? We got to the exact same stage the last three tournaments, and played equally as bad each and every time. I think you're confusing your opinions with fact. Horrific performances by the end of his reign, or was i watching a different England team? It got worse and worse, it was average to poor in the middle of his England stint, but by the end it was an embarrasing waste of talent. Is my memory deceiving me here?

When did we nosedive? we pretty much played the same way all through Svens reign apart from the 5-1 against Germany. Beat all the minnows and teams worse than us, get to the quarter finals of tournaments then go out to teams better than us. For me at least performance dropped even though the players were better individually than ever, i just remember at the time Grip wasn't training the team anymore and that thought has remained with me, Grip was as much involved and responsible for England as Sven was.

How much exactly do top players need trained in the week leading upto a match? All they do in international training is light stuff and tactical training. I seriously doubt Grip made a great deal of difference. Player, coach and manager relationships are complicated. Its not about the intensity at that level, what its about is the quality. Sven could relate to some player by speaking them, others need to be communicated through training, some like Rooney barely understand English, but know football, and when players feel that they are learning they instantly respect those above. Its like knowing you know more than yuor boss, see how long that relationship keeps working for. Its why in the end GR couldn't hack it, he couldn't communicate with the players and couldn't even train them. My opinion, and why Tord Grip & Sven worked so well until Grip took a back seat, McClaren stepped up and it all fell apart, because McClaren is just another Sven.

Hmm. Un-afraid to say that those comments backfired monumentally so. Not really, you've done us all a huge favour and i personally think you should be knighted. Now do you think Dyer will still be here next season?

Wasn't GR looking at him in the winter window? Not impressed with any player coming from a soft French league ATM. There are rumours that Ujfalusi is looking to move on from Fiorentina, i'd rather have a little look at the possibility of signing him.

Anyone who pays the full £5.5m release clause in Bartons contract is a mug. I hope its not us, £4m max bid with possibly an option to top up the £1.5m with appearances or if he doesn't go to jail in the 1st 3 years.
-
Everyone's a winner. Will probably become the player we all thought he was going to be, then again, he could just fall into the pits of football hell which is Aston Villa. If there is one team worse than us for killing off careers its them.
-
Oh dear. Picked up on that myself, didn't know if I was being too petty or not! Hahaha You're then. Give a shit, yous knew what I meant. Anyways, why do you all give a shit what Sunderland do or don't do? Know your enemy, why else? Were not obsessed like they are with us, we just like to keep an eye on what they're doing. Go to RTG and when something major happens in Toonland, they have more threads on it than us, seriously, they are like old women talking about the NHS, buses or some other major event in life that bothers them.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/arsenal/article1811322.ece One of the most credible sports sites on the net said that Arsenal have £40 million to spend. But i dont feel Arsenal will be after a striker in the summer! (Especially Owen). Although i did see it once reported that Arsenal and England Physio Gary Lewin had been reporting back to Wenger about his injury status! And yet: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/article1863879.ece So on May 19th, The Times says that Arsenal have £40m to spend. 12 days later, the same paper says that Arsenal have £15m to spend. Is it any wonder that people don't believe the press? And today: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premiership/arsenal/article1867947.ece Arsenal are skint. Official, The Times finally catches up with Toon's Taylor.

two good signings if you ask me. if we get ben haim it will be a great start. still think we need to sign a big name to signal our intentions Baines, Ben Haim, Barton, Viduka & Boateng for about £11m is a great start. £30m on top of that would be magic, if were wanting more then anothe CB a top-class RB and a right winger would all that would be needed really, unless we spend a big part of it on a playmaker while selling Dyer & Emre.

Second string in trophy winning teams, they still get the medals.
-
wow. they had a fantastic team back then. Too bad its not like that anymore fantastic team that got themselves relegated, and now only Ferdinand can say he has gone on to better things Smith at Manu Dacourt back to Italy Kewell to Liverpool and winning the CL

Agreed, like a better version of Faye tbh. Breaks up play and gets about well but a very limited player. Honestly think that's harsh on the lad, he's a much better player than that. Looks good for Liverpool at times because he has a very basic role, namely to win the ball in midfield. Meanwhile Alonso alongside him has the task of passing it from the middle, while at the same time playing as a ballwinner in midfield himself. They play with two holding midfielders for the most part, think its easier to look good for him in a system like that. His touch can be a shambles at times too. Hit n miss, but enough talent to be able to sort that out. I think he'd be a great option to have, i've also just found out Lucas has signed for Liverpool from Gremio, deal to take effect in 2008, fuking tits, dubbed the Brazilian Gerrard, when on earth did they sneak that one in?
-
Aye he's a great destroyer but can't pass very well and we give the ball away enough as it is. I'd prefer another African. We need a big African in the middle. :parky:

If the shoulder is a concern i think Liverpool would be more proactive in trying to sell him. I think Rafa wants to keep him but 1st team football is important to him and with the technically better Mascherano coming in maybe Rafa could let him go if the price is right.
-
He's good, best young DMC adapted to the EPL i can think of, dity fuker though. Less of a gamble than going abroad and digging out another Amdy Faye.

Did he play CL football for Celtic?
