He would be good for the team who owns him. It makes no sense that he and Courtois are not in their first team.
-
I would say 4 comfortable wins plus a clutch of other wins is good going, especially given the off field strife. Only real discontent is the bummings and bad runs we've had.

Do you think Shola will be offered a new playing contract at NUFC?
James replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
We will offer him a contract. It will be less than he is on at the moment, with no first team assurances. Lack of strikers and lack of English players make it the most cost effective option to maintain squad numbers. Shola will reject it, I think he is ready to move on. -
Was it the last 8 or 16? Can't remember
-
Well we did better than Spurs. We actually did rather well in Europa last season, a very pleasing campaign.
-
NUFC have booked a hotel suite and are going to have Pardew there with his video analysts, video conferencing etc according to the Journal

I don't get some posters wanting a 5 game ban. You either hope for no games or forever, there should be no halfway measures.
-
He probably should have been captain more, but the reason he wasn't captain much was: 1. Early in his career there were good established leaders like Adams, Platt, Shearer. 2. Soon after Shearer retired Sven became manager and was always a manager drawn to the top glamourous players like Beckham and Owen. 3. Once Beckham retired, Campbell was third best centre back.

3 month stadium ban with a further 9 months suspended for 10 years

Darren Ambrose is the next Rob Lee, what did people expect?

The trouble is in the great scheme of things 10 games is pretty meaningless other than a slight risk to our top 10 position, which is a slight commercial issue. However more than 10 games is a punishment for us and Pardew should go. The club should offer to begin the suspension right away, the risk is that it drags on for months and Pardew gets 4 games this season 5 games next season which is again an unacceptable punishment for the club. Basically if I was owner Pardew would be on gardening leave.
-
Unbelievably the most sensible comments on the whole issue probably come from Freddy Shepherd.
-
My view is that footballing wise he was just about hanging in there in deserving to remain as manager. No way back now. Bad example for his players. Complete undermining of his own position. We are still in a position to challenge 6th and 7th and boost our commercial performance, but this action potentially leaves us rudderless for the rest of the season which could have quite a significant impact on our club revenues, thanks to some bad behaviour. He has also completely destroyed our reputation as a fair play side. Bin him.
-
He should have just fallen over and rolled around in the hope Meyer got sent off
-
As a Newcastle manager I would give him a 6 out of 10. Other than KK and Robson, all other managers are sub 5. I've supported him, but I think he has lost it. Key to success is getting rid before the downturn has gone too far. The downturn has started, and I wouldn't want Pardew to be starting the new season as our manager any more. Don't hate him, but his time is up.

Still miss the old club statements. Freddy Shepherd would like to make it clear that he never said Alan Shearer would knock seven bells out of anyone.
-
Seen it time and time again where chairman or board back manager, then they are gone after the next defeat. The so called club statement seen in that light makes different reading.
-
Sounds like a vote of confidence equivalent.

This site does seem to like its exclusives, first Hoddle, the McMahon, then Shola going to China
-
I'd imagine in the unlikely event that McMahon was interested, Ashley would want at least: 150 percent the club's value Debt repaid in full A significant stake in WWE Exclusive WWE merchandise for Sports Direct Free advertising of Sports Direct at all WWE events Joe Kinnear as Director of Wrestling

RIP and condolences to the people of Preston.

Dont like that team. What do we learn by playing Taylor over MYM? That is worse than the Santon move.
-
Nowhere near as bad as when Mourinho picked Santon to make his debut in a position he never played in, against Ronaldo. let the manager judge the character.

We're playing for points, we're not playing Macclesfield you goon. If we need to make one change to bring in a midfielder he's turned that one change into two as he'll now have to bring in a defender. Pre-season isn't only about playing a few games, it's about working on things for many weeks in training. The second change is to bring one of our most promising young players in at left back, give him a chance to get proper playing experience and develop. Even if santon bombs in midfield (where there are no other genuine options), it will be worth it for that. Many a team have got through pre-season with new systems etc all looking good, then bombing the moment they hit the new season. A run-in like this is way more valuable and it is a good time to take risks. There is no instant success route this season, but we now have a chance to build and develop our squad. and unless we finish with less than 50 points I won't be angry with Pardew if he decides to test a few things.

i would do this: Krul Debuchy MYM Taylor Haidara Sissoko Anita Ben Arfa Santon Sammy De Jong
