    WC 2018

Aren't we forgetting Wembley? Also Chelsea should have a new stadium by then. Coventry's and Southamptons new stadiums are also good for the China vs Iraq type of games.
  2. Just read some comments of his on Joey Barton, and he has literally just boiled my blood: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/5195524.stm
  3. Thanks Nut, only the link doesn't work...
  4. From what I saw of Kuyt, I still want us to get him, I see him as a hardworking, strong and fearless striker - a slower Bellamy (but whose general play ie passing and crossing is better than Bellamy's). I'm worried however that people will perceive him as being Shearer's successor - he wont be, and will therefore dissappoint many, including the media who will in turn criticise Roeder for signing him and sticking with him, possibly evenleading to Roeder's demise. With all the burden put on Kuyt by Owen's injury, the extent of these problems will be quadrupled.
  5. Before Owen's injury, Kuyt would have been a greatplayer - more of a Bellamy than a Shearer. But we need a goalscorer, and I'm not sure that Kuyt can fulfil this role.
  6. I can offer no regular commitment, but occassionally if wanted, I could write some reviews for some Toon books/DVDs old and new, for example, my next book after I've finished the one I'm reading is Euan Reedie's Alan Shearer Captain Fantastic, so I could review that. I could also do a piece on the autobiographies of various Toon people including Shearer, Pearce, Robson and Lee, as well as plenty more books and stuff if its a success and I have time. The example article I submit is already on the site. I could also do some match profiles maybe.
  7. Apart from the two year contract ones mate. Oh, OK.
  8. I'm sure those quotes from Shepherd are a week or so old.
  9. I'm basing it on how he has played for us. Everything else is irrelevant. I don't give a fuck how he played somewhere else. I care how he played for us. It seems that loads of people want to make excuses for the likes of him, Boumsong, and Dyer, without admitting that these people get paid a lot of money to play for us, and a number of them fail to do so adequately. As for Luque.....his first two (?) games - poor. But people say he was settling in, can't expect any more. Then the injury. Whe nhe came back (and people on here were crying like babies for him to be played) he was poor. Very poor. Suddenly, he is still unfit (yet people were desperate for him to be played, and used it as a stick to beat roeder with), you can't have it both ways. He not only looked disinterested ("not fit yet", poor diddums), he also looked not that good. "But he's playing in a different country". Fuck off. I'm not talking about the pace of the game getting to him, but him showing talent, like Viana. I'm talking about him looking not very good. ITS THE SAME FUCKING GAME HERE AS IT IS IN SPAIN. Same number of players, same rules, same sized ball, same sized goa;. If he can't show individually that he's a great player, maybe he's not. "But he's playing with poor quality players". So was Owen. He managed to do well. Excuse after excuse for Luque, based on a few games people saw him play for Depor, and soem nicely edited showreel. I'm basing my opinion on what i've seen. Some players change my opinion by doing well, some confirm it being shite. I've seen nothing from Luque so far to show he's in the former category. Bluebigeek.gif
  10. Scored again today. The guy definitely deserves another chance.

    Its Roeder

I'm worried about that too. I reckon that Peasepud got lucky with a 1471, getting through to Lovejoy, who is actually Alan Oliver  Always look on the bright side of life though - I nearly put £50 on it.

    Its Roeder

The possibilities of a Roeder management are endless. Lets just see how it goes, eh?

Typical, having put money on it too... Anyway, Oliver has built his own gallows, if he's wrong, a mailing campaign aimed at the Chronicle should finish him off.

Put £25 on Roeder at 2/5 Should pay back and double the £5 I put on Mancini.

    Its Roeder

Hold on, does that mean that you've been told by the Chronicle that there will be a Chronicle exclusive,or that they've been told directly by Shepherd that this is going to happen?

    Its Roeder

aye, i just got 4/1 Well I might just pop over to Coral just around the corner as soon as I get into my clothes to offset my losses on Mancini.

    Alan Pardew

Why? His City ALWAYS play good football. I always enjoy watching City rather than Charlton, Bolton, and even Newastle. Careless defense sometimes, inconsistencies sometimes, but overall an entertaining side which can overcome stubborn defense. The person himself is also a man, responsible and sporting. A bit emotional, that's all. We'll see next season. Man City have really tailed off into 15th position.

    Alan Pardew

We aren't the right club for Pardew, he is too revolutionary, and became unpopular at West Ham for making tough and controversial decisions, which turned out to be the right decisions, although this was only noticeable in the long run. The Newcastle fans, and Freddy Shepherd are unlikely to be as forgiving and patient as West Ham fans and the West Ham board.

    The Final Run In

Wouldn't that just mean Spurs get Cl instead of Uefa and anything below is unaffected? The outcome of a successful appeal could have many outcomes, but one is that Arsenal and Spurs get CL places, and a club from Andorra who would have been in the CL gets our UEFA Cup place.

    The Final Run In

Ah, I see. However we would lose our UEFA cup place if Tottenham's appeal succeeded.
