  1. I doubt we will get anyone in other than Harewood and Zurab on loan. Whether they will be enough to sustain us to automatic promotion remains to be seen but if we lose to WBA and Forest continue playing as well as they are, my confidence in automatic promotion is diminishing.
  2. So, we could have got a small fee for Geremi plus gettinmg rid of 58K off the wage bill but now it looks like he will be staying because dopey Ashley will not bend, for some reason or other. I dont think this iodiot has heard of the term, speculate to acumulate or else we would have had 4 players in by now, probably for the same weekly cost as Geremi's salary or just over and we would be looking good for promotion. I dont see anyone coming in other than the return of Harewood and Zurab on loan and with the form Forest are in at present and if we lose to WBA on monday, it could be play offs only for us.
  3. Ian w Absolutely correct there. Considering the circumstances the club have been in, to have something like the third best average home attendance in the country in testament to the quality of the fans. I dont blame people for not going last night. Cold weather, the cup and the opposition were to blame for that. However, I would not be surprised in the least to see 50,000 at SJP on Monday night.
  4. Ronaldo Might be wise to leave Shola out of the next two games bearing in mind what he did to Harper on the first day of the season,
  5. I suppose he will come cheap and as a squad player only. Makes sense until the summer when we can decide who we want, if or when we get promoted.
  6. Which "HOUGHTON" would that be? Ray or Bobby?
  7. They are a good footballing side but I noticed against Foest that they are susceptible down the flanks and the long ball so I would certainly play two pacy wingers with the two forwards from last night. My only changes to last nights team is Smith in for Butt and Simpson in for Ryan Taylor, Harper in for Krul. Use Pancrate and Jonas pace down the flanks and hiopefully, they can deliver quality balls into the middle.
  8. Anyone know why Simpson wasnt even selected for the bench last night? I read that his agent was busy settling the Caldwell transfer to Wigan and that he was tying up loose ends on the Simpson deal to us. Wonder if he was kept out of the game for some reason regarding a possible breakdown in negotiations.
  9. Ronaldo I heard you were Joe Sugdens love child.
  10. I thoink you will find that Boumsong was acting as N'Zogbia's father figure during his troubled times.
  11. RONALD You should stick to playing computer games, son. You seem to be better at that than debating cold hard realisitc facts
  12. KINGDAWSON Dont talk tripe, man. King and Woodgate WERE good but they are both well and truly fucked now. I doubt you will ever see them again after this season is over and good old 'arry knows it.
  13. Robson is well past his best. I watched him in the old firm game last week and thought he struggled. He has a decent left foot on him but rarely delivers. Flood and Killen are also rans and Caldwell is a championship low level defender at best. Talk of getting McDonald is bollocks. I know S
  14. You cannot really blame Leeds for holding out for as much as they can get for him. I said a while back that this transfer would not be completed, one way or the other, until the end of the month. If it is true Wolves are in for him, then it will be interesting to see who cracks first and I dont think it will be us. Wolves need a goalscorer to avoid relegation. It will be interesting to see if Beckford is more interested in a relegation battle or a top of the championship team. Leeds might accept Wolves offer but Beckford couild tell them to get stuffed.
  15. Isnt the bloke Charnley in charge of contracts and admin at the club now?
  16. Sorry, I will try it again. The Sun are quoting Ridsdale lining up yanks to buy Cardiff City for 150 million pounds before the end of January. Not that I believe a word of it, of course.
  17. Skirge Succinctly put, old man. Can you be a bit more specific though? I dont think Ronaldo quite understands your last post.
  18. Over to you, skirge............................LOL
  19. Skirge I can now see the reasoning behind your desperation and as things result such as, Nuclear War, Global Warming, Armegeddon, Ronaldos posts, I can well understand your state of mind at the time., YOU ARE FORGIVEN
  20. yes, Maynard is the Bristol City player I was thinking of and whenever I have seen him play on TV, he has looked quite clinical in his finishing. However, you guys over there will know more asbout him than us over here so I will leave it up to you to judge his suitability for our team.
  21. Skirge Oh God, you have actually dropped to the depths of despair here by actua;lly quoting Tribal Football. I never thought you would stoop so low. I thought you were more intelligent than that. My only saving grace on this issue is that maybe it was Marley the dog typing this message......................but there again, he is a top dog, isnt he?
  22. Bowling I am not one of those. I always liked the lad and I couldnt care less whether we sign Sunderland players as long as they do a job or sell players to Sunderland as long as they end up below us. He has obviously learned a lot from the likes of Keegan and the football he has Huddersfield playing is very good. Of all former players in management or contemplating management at the moment, I feel Clark has the best chance of suicceeding at NUFC in years to come, if he gain good experience at top level with someone else.
  23. RONALDO READ THE POST AGAIN. It is not about what ,Leeds would get for him, it is about what they would VALUE him at. Whether someone in this day an age cOmes along and pays the valued price is not known. If we are prepared to pay Leedds 1.5 million for a players they VALUE at 3 million with 6 months left on his contract, the probasbility is that some team struggling in the PL will offer Leeds somewhere between 2 and 2.5 million for Beckford which I presume Leeds will accept. We are clearly not going to go above our valuation of the player. If he had 3 years on his contract, his value would be more but they would possibily be prepared to accept less which, would almost certainly be more than what they are prepared to accept now. CAPICE?
  24. Absolute rubbish He was playing non league football 4 YEARS AGO......................Ancient history...................MAN Ian Wiright was playing non league football before Crystal Palace signed him. Arsenal paid 2.5 million for him Les Ferdinand was playing non league football before QPR signed him, we paid 6 million for him. There are many many such cases. Why cant you agree with facts for once?
  25. Ronaldo They want 3 million for him now. If he had 3 years left, it would be at least double that. You need to understand the basic facts about natural goalscorers and their values. It doesnt matter in which league they play, as long as they consistently score goals, they are valuable commodities and therefore I dont blame Leeds for holding out for as much as they can get. I also said at the start of this thread that the transfer of Beckford will go through this window, but not until the very last minute and probably to a struggling PL team who need a goalscorer to save them from a relegation fight. I think you will find the likes of Hull, Bolton, Wigan, WHU and Wolves in for him and willing to meet Leeds valuation as January closes and therefore he will go to the highest bidder. It will not be us.
