Bring in one top class centre half. It would work fucking wonders.
-
I'm fucking livid. I've chilled out a bit now, but I was getting slowly more and more angry as the second half wore on: it's was so Newcastle United. It's like punching yourself, realising it hurts, but then going on to repeatedly punch yourself in the face.
-
I swear, if you're not all putting money on Roder to be sacked 6 matches into next season, you're mental. It's nailed on.
-
People talk bollocks about Parker. I thought he was very average last match, but he was one of our few decent players today. Butt was gash.
-
It's already absolutely guranteed what will happen: we'll give Roeder some money to spend, we'll start the season terribly and he'll get the boot after 6 or 7 matches.
-
he was bloody awful, you could equally say "huntington couldn't keep a cool head alongside such and such" or "solano couldn't keep a cool head" etc etc. load of crap to say he's some put upon hero a la Maldini who is wrongly suffering due to his team mates, he made by my count about 15 or 16 INDIVIDUAL errors tonight, which is pretty incredible. awful even by his poor standards. Yes, yet there's a thread exclusively for him! The whole defence was shit. What would you expect from this CB you evidently wish was out there in his place? A god-like saviour amongst schoolkids? It says much for your tenuous stance that you would count his errors alone, after he'd been one of our best players recently. I take it you counted the errors of Oba Martins? Butt, maybe? Shay Given? Pathetic. Trying to scapegoat a god-awful team performance on any one player is worthy of Andy Townsend, brother. Centre halves are judged by their mistakes and Bramble made a fucking bucketful.
-
I don't even want to think about his mistakes. Christ. IT'S FUCKING EMBARASSING! It's makes me recall that time at Anfield when the Liverpool fans were fucking cheering him onto the pitch.
-
He was shit, the whole of the back four were shit. Solano's been decent at right back but he's put in 2 or 3 absolutely shocking performances and tonight's was right up there. WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT OF TALKING ABOUT NEWCASTLE'S DEFENCE?! We'll still be pissing and moaning about it in 50 years' fucking time!
-
True, but the man REALLY to blame is Fat B*stardo. ya...deeeeeeeep down, it really is souness' fault yeah? ofcourse! who spent 50 million on players who aren't even playing except Parke rand Emre is shiite! Thought Parker was alright today, tbh. Better than Butt by a canny way.
-
Thought Dyer was alright, tbh.
-
I'm sure the Bramble apologists will try and bail him out, but he was shite today and his defensive colleages weren't much better.
-
We were fucked after conceding 2 at home. After that we had to go for it, but we didn't. Roeder should've taken Huntington off at half-time as virtually every fucker watching knew, apart from him.
-
Fucking commentary... shite. Worse than C5, tbh.
-
Decent player when he was here first time, imo. Don't know why everyone's putting him down when, tbh.
-
I'm not sure this is a new thing. A lot of Sibs game for us has been based on these little flicks and touches for players to run on to.

I watched the entire match again this evening. I think our first half performance was probably as good as we've played for a year or more. I still think Parker was disappointing, and we definitely lost conhesion in the second half. Seemed to be a lot of tired players and sloppy passing. For the first AZ goal, it's a difficult one to apportion blame: I don't think Bramble could've done much, and even Taylor could be forgiven, I think, as it was a great diagonal run that was difficult for a CB heading towards goal to cover: a midfielder should've gone with him. Sometimes, you just have to hold your hands up and say they deserved to score.

It's that photo of SBR, it makes you look like you know what you're talking about.

Aye, me and my dad were in the East stand and Duff was standing just in front of us with no one in about 15 yards of him and Martins just dribbled into a wall of defenders and lost posession. Duff went aboslutely bonkers. Terrible service yesterday.
-
I 100% agree with Morph: his all-round game is rubbish. Worse than Shola's in fact. His first touch is terrible, his passing is wayward. His decision-making, his awareness of colleagues, his anticipation, the runs he makes (or, more often, doesn't make). But he can turn a match in the blink of an eye and he's got some magic about him.
-
True. Don't think he was outstanding today, like, but it's hard to judge as his partnership with Parker is rubbish.
-
I loved the first half: a great game to watch. Second half, imo, we were really poor. Martins pisses me off sometimes. Second half he was infuriating: what's the point of laying a ball off to a winger if you can't then be arsed to get into the box? He comes too deep, his first touch is AWFUL 50% of the time, his awareness is shocking at times, he's goes down like a fairy. If he wasn't such an exciting player with a great shot I'd really have a go at him. I was really disappointed with Almaar after all I'd heard about them. They barely turned up in the first half and we had to really play poorly in the second to give them another goal. They looked intimidated quite honestly. Maybe it'll be different at their ground. Having said that once they got the ball down, you can see they can pass it around, good movement from their forwards and a number of good through-balls that could've paid off. We've got to defend better over there. Parker & Butt were a mixed bag for me. For every tackle they won, they gave ball back just as much. I think Parker's problem is this: he works very hard, he's got an excellent football brain but he lacks the ability to pull off more than half of what he wants to do. Lastly, Carr was shit and why did no one give the ball to Duff?

Just a polite round of applause, a quick handshake from Parker, and on with the match. Let's not degrade it, but let's not make a big deal out of it either.
