This is the problem having Shearer in the studio as they always glance over Newcastle fixtures now. Reading etc. got some decent analysis, but now all we get is 'Oh, Alan, your team won/lost/drew you must be overjoyed/disappointed/puzzled' and that's it. And, correct me if I'm wrong, but Shearer has never once mentioned Bellamy since doing MOTD even when discussing Liverpool fixtures. Petty?

His general play. His control, technique, linkup, passing, vision, dribbling, etc, on a consistent basis. Its often poor. Similar to Milner. Good player when hes producing something, but general play can be poor, eg in comparison to the likes of Nobby, Dyer etc. Too many players like this and the team will get nowhere near top 4 imo. Not sure I'd agree with that. His link-up play and vision have both seemed excellent whenever I've seen him.

Performed well today next to a 'very Bramble' Bramble. Also showed a bit of nous when 'fouled' by Bellamy.

Tbh, I can't be arsed to discuss Bellamy ever again. I will, owever, say that Agger was wank today and thank God for Reina's insanity.

Whassat? Just being generally pally and joking around. They did it during matchplay, too. Thought Bellamy behaved pretty decently throughout.

Semi-dive for the pen. Definitely left his foot there, but a good dive: certainly by Taylor's standards.

I don't understand how the defence seemed 200% more composed in the second half. It seemed we were playing a higher line, which you would've thought'd be trouble against Bellamy, but it seemed to focus the back four into actually being a unit.

We were a bit fortunate first half with Titus doing his usual and Bellamy terrorising, but second half we looked the better team for most of it and 'Pool ran out of ideas, tbh. Great win.

Excellent result, enjoyable match which could've gone either way. Well done, lads, never suspected a result like that, tbh. Roeder's celebrations:
