    Edgar?

    About 1000000:1, I'd say.
  2. That's a shame. Good crack watching Jeff on a Saturday while eating beans out of can.
  3. Basically, I'm surprised history has frowned on him to such an extent. He was one of the few players who tried to stand up against Souness (which was foolish, admitedly) while others (Shearer included) smarmed into his good books. Souness is a cunt who ruined this club and deserved to be kicked off the fucking training ground by the players.

    Edgar?

I'd certainly like to see him keeping Ramage--who's got very little going for him--off the subs bench. See how much more composed the back four were against West Ham when Ramage had to come off and Edgar replaced him.
  5. I thought FIFA could impose punishments for players who refuse to join up with their national sides: see the Makelele case.

    Edgar?

What's the score with this lad? Has looked the best of the recent reserve recruitments, imo, but hasn't seen a game. Better than Carr at LB, surely? Surely? Looks like he's got a cool head and seems to have that little bit of quality that Huntington, Ramage, etc. seem to lack.
  7. From a Toon persepctive, this isn't so bad: the worst thing that could happen would be for FIFA to ban him playing for us. Actually, the worst thing that could happen is that he gets chinned by irate fans next time he's in Lagos and gets both his legs broken.
  8. I dunno. I still wonder if it'll be split a little. There still a lot of fans who remember the good things he did. At the start of the Souness reign it was basically Bellamy playing the oppo by himself for the first half-a-dozen matches.
  9. I'm not a big Feyenoord fan, so this isn't the worst news; if only if could've been someone other than Spurs that prospered.
  10. I think that one Outtatoon posted is the best so far.

    Bookies

You should settle this with dares.
  12. Has no one got a decent shot of the flag at the Millennium Stadium?

    Football pet hates

Nicky Butt's little backwards dance thing has been celebration of the season, imo. Anyway: * Motson * 'Lawro' * Shit Lineker gags * Lineker's false modesty (ALWAYS followed by either Hansen or Motson saying, 'You're being a bit modest there, Gary, you were GEET LUSH' or similar), * Desperate fans shouting for handball everytime the ball hits an oppo player * Defenders waving their feckin' hands instead of playing football * Robbie Savage * Smarmy refs * English FA: a load of shit * Rubbish attempts at authentic pronounciation of foreigners names * 'Little triangles, 'the hole just behind the front two', 'running from deep' * Newcastle throw-ins Lots more besides.
  14. I'd say there hasn't been much difference in terms of quality of football. At least Roeder puts out half-sensible teams now and then; I don't think I agreed with a Souness first XI since the day he joined. Souness put us in the shit and Roder is struggling to get us out.
  15. Aye, those SPL TV rights are worth literally hundreds of pounds.

    England-Spain

Carrick was shit today. Barely a pass came off.
  17. De Zeeuw is a good shout. Also, MGP, Friedel (who's been incredibly consistent for donkey's now), Geremi, Ljungberg, Diouf, Boateng, McBride.

    Robert is playing

I can't see how people could get more excited by Scott Sellars then Robert. Some of the shit Robert pulled off was mind-boggling: the most exciting player we've had for donkeys.
  19. I've no idea how that's done. Insane. Good, though.
  20. I'm glad it's not just my pet hate. I don't think I've ever seen a team concede possession so easily from throw-ins. If it's in our half we may as well just give the oppo the ball.

    Gooch

Looks quite nippy for a big fella.
  22. Why would Liverpool want him? He can't even get a game for the Hammers.
  23. Tbh, one of the best things you could do for Newcastle would be to extend the metro into the West End like they were planning on doing a few years back. It's all very well pissing about on the Quayside and in Ouseburn, but the areas that need 'gentrified' (to use a horrible fucking word) are all down the other end of the city. You stick a few Metro stops in there and house prices will rise, facilities will improve and will lead to an improvement in people's lives in areas which have been ignored for decades.
  24. Good on the Bay. Was there much of a crowd?
