If Shearer comes in, wouldn't be a bad shout. He knows him well, could get him to buy in to his vision, and his bride to be is a geordie and they've been checking properties out in Northumberland. Plus if no Premiership clubs come in for him, beggars can't be choosers Great points made. I'd be over the moon with Nugent, Beckford, and Sol. Partner Sol & Taylor in the CB - Think Sol could teach Stevie a ton. Beckford is prob the 1 player I want us most to sign, just hoping we do - he's that pacy, strong, tall CF you can have playing alone up-top causing havoc if you ask me.

Krul R Taylor S Taylor Colo Enrique Jonas Barton Smith Lua-Lua Duff Carroll for me.
-
I'm pretty sure a fair share members on this board can cross better than Jonas, he is bloody awful at crossing. In all honesty though, I think someone mentioned a decent idea of playing him off of Carroll to just use his dribbling and pace and running at defenders which will make them take a step or two back. He wouldn't need to cross the ball, and I've seen some pretty beautiful through-balls behind the defense last season he made, ex: to Owen with the outside of his boot that Owen ACTUALLY converted.

I was dissapointed in us not offering Loven a simple deal. He has bags of pace and scored a few handy goals, albeit he missed that Everton chance (ack, sitll gets to me)... But in the Championship he'd be very useful as he would be an ideal foil for someone like Andy Carroll.
-
The man comes on for a short time, already his passing, moving, and his driven cross looked more dangerous than anything our other midfielders did all match, bar the strong defensive performance from Smith and the 1 pass from Nolan. Barton took the free kick that Nolan should have put away. As much I dislike Joey Barton, right now - I'll take him over most the lot in our squad.
-
Spot-On. Part of me was a little happy watching Mickey not start and come off the bench and be on the losing side.
-
Been waiting to see Guthrie and Barton play together, but when one comes back, the other gets injured or in Barton's case, suspended.
-
honestly, could have went either way. same story as last season, Krul played like the Given of old, saving our defense of a million mistakes. Nile looks better running around then Shola did all game, he actually looks cooridinated. How sad is it - Shola is awful.
-
LOL, so i made a comment about the arsenal style and we score with a wonderful move literally passing it into the goal....
-
wow...we never take shots - the lads think they are playing for wenger or something? trying to pass the f'ng ball in the net.
-
I wish i cuold convince my company to buy the club. Hah.
-
Who do they have at RB and CB again apart from Davies and Bouma?

Toonarmy, THANK YOU. My cable provider does not allow me to access ESPN 360, but my brother's does and he has kindly given me his sign-on details to get remote access to watch teh matches. I'd buy you a beer for that knowledge my friend.

Don't see how any bank would allow you to have a loan without terms saying all proceeds and income must come back to service the debt in forms of principal payments on top of the interest. By the way, the interest paid on this loan must be massive, no LIBOR-only backed loans these days im afriad. But who knows... -
He'll get a longer contract. Had he been willing to wait until say August 30th he may very well of got a longer contract here oh and a Captains armband. I'm with you Skirge, this one boils my blood. He loves us so much, he stays until late and either gets on with it or leaves then. FFS he would have been our captain and our club leader. Way to abandon ship buddy.

It is what they do. They buy a pub chain for £4.6bn then sell it on for a profit. Sometimes they'll make losses, they take risks, but the wins have outweighed the losses in their careers it would seem. NUFC are at a low ebb at the moment, and they may feel confident they can get us back up then sell us on. Vincent Tchenguiz is apparently very publicity hungry, so this might be an appealing risk for him. Dare I say that looks like a mouth-watering prospect, real business folk with real business savvy. Not some cheap-discount sportswear fake tycoon.

Optimistic last night after many many many beers, now this morning, with my hangover - my brain, hurting, and being as realistic as possible - this deal sounds too good ot be true - and its prob 100% untrue.

Bassong, you were the one guy on the squad I did not want to see go, rightly so, the club didn't appoint Shearer, you p*ssed off and are now officially p*ssin off. But of all teams, you had to go to the Spurs? Yuck. -
The name went public, so isn't that already ruled out?
