If he goes anywhere near Sunderland City Centre I'd give it less than a day before he buys his own contract out and does a runner. I can just envisage Keane's blag - "Aye Dibs man, you'll love it up here - very similar to Marseille, got a port and everything!"

Bizarrely more confident - not because of Sunday but more of what Keegan has been saying. He acknowledged we need 3 more signings and is trying to get them. Its a breath of fresh air to hear a manager of ours on the same page as the fans - so many times in the past when it was glaringly obvious we had shortomcomings, managers would come out and protest that we had a great squad etc or would sign a player totally inappropriate to our needs at the time. If we don't get the signings I'll be dissapointed but feeling more confident that our management know the issues and are trying to address them rather than having a numpty manager who doesn't have a clue/too stubborn to acknowledge them.

For that cash, Diego or Huntelaar but both are probably out of our reach at present. Have to say I've always gone on about how much I wanted us to sign Arshavin but the longer this goes on, the less I'm enamoured by his apparent attitude. This could be wrong and agent/media led but he is coming across as something of a mercenary/gun for hire.

Capaca is weak, Davies etc will have a field day.

Call me stoopid, but it seems to me that would be entirely pointless. Not really if it's 12 months interest free, you could make a couple of hundred quid profit. It's interest free for the life of the balance. But either way... a) It'll cost you £2K initially, so it's hardly a loan. 2) They only pay 1/19th of the season ticket value minus costs, so you'll get less back. III) What goes in the bank? Won't you need the money from ticket sales to pay off the credit card? Eh? I know nothing of said card offer, but I was under the impression that if you bought your season ticket with it it would be interest free. Whast this 1/19th crap? Ha, sorry mate, yes, it was based on the 1/19th malarky

Won't you need the money from ticket sales to pay off the credit card? That's how I had it, plus: 1. Timing of the cash received from tickets sales is spread over the year so you won't receive the full apr interest on that total £2,000, which as Happy said will be less as you are paying fees. 2. As Happy says - you actually do need to pay back money each month to the card, thus that won't be going in the bank either, reducing the money you will actually get interest on. 3. Risk that you actually sell these tickets each time??

I used to think Andy Gray was alright but I am now firmly in the camp of 'he's a t*sser'. Continually called Man U by "United", kept bleating on about how depleted they were and what a thin bench they had - erm, Andy, look at ours you f*cking pr*ck. When they scored - went on about typical Newcastle not able to batten down the hatches - erm Andy, we were down to 10 men - which he said didn't really matter. Kept havering about the old Newcastle, poor defending la la la, on and on. I swear I have never got so riled about a commentator in my life.

Can Saviola play as a playmaker or is he an out and out forward?

I agree completely, Butt's saving grace is that he can tackle well and harries well, but if we are to progress we need a DM who can actually pass the ball and who is more positive. Butt's experience is also an advantage but he's too slow and his passing is too limited, we need a cutting edge in the middle of the park. Guthries passing and ability to dictate the tempo is amazing for his age and his experience, I think Keegan just may have signed another Rob/Gary!!!!!!!! Agree with that, Butt almost cost us a point a couple of times with his slowness in reactions and giving the ball away. Guthrie looks like a great prospect

Have to say £9m is tempting, only problem is lack of cover on the right side
-
Jonas looks excellent, Zog aint a LB and Duff is wasted in thats role, desperately need someone to hold the ball up
-
Only reason why Heskey has been called up is the dearth of quality english centre forwards rather than Heskey being brilliant - his time has come and gone - rather have a half fit Viduka.

Woogdate's prime has been and gone though, don't forget that. I believe we are judging them both on current ability. Fair enough, but I still will have to wait and see how Collo adapts to the premiership, on paper I would take Collo given his last season and consistency but there is always an element of doubt re foreign players adapting.

I don't call not getting my season ticket till potentially the day before the first home game of the season - " a little bit of a delay" - I call it an almighty f*ck up and a disgrace. They have had almost 2 months to give me my season ticket, god knows they took the money quick enough.
-
Collo hasn't played yet in the prem, the comparision is ridiculous. Woodgate in his prime was the best defender I have ever seen, if Collo ends up being better than Woodgate then we will have a steal.

Class but we need a big, mobile forward

Good, can we now close this abomination of a thread!!!

Disagree, while not a massive loss, we can ill afford to be letting experienced centre halves go without a replacement. We have no idea how Colo will fit into a new league (from posts on that Depo forum, he took a while there), Capaca is old, fragile and very shaky against physical teams and Taylor is both inconsistent and prone to the odd injury. But for all we know, we have someone lined up to come in. If that's the case and he is an improvement then I will be absolutely delighted, really delighted.

I don't think Faye is that good but I don't think he will be replaced if he goes, which is my problem.
