The flaw in selling Milner is the ability of our management team to get a better replacement. Given their track record so far, I doubt we would have anyone in before the end of August, thus leaving our squad even thinner.

Unless we have a replacement lined up I see no point in depleting our midfield any further and by replacement not including another central midfielder that I think we additionally need.

All the other 20 goal a season midfielders are unavailable. 20 deflected goals? I'd be absolutely delighted if any of our midfielders could bang in 20 deflected goals. I'd settle for 10 given the last few years

I'd actually hoped for better than Warnock, I think we need a 1st team LB but Warnock doesn't exactly get me full of confidence

I know this meeting happened as one of the guys I play golf with went to it - the amount he was asked to pay for his corporate seat was a joke - from memory it was going up from £14k to £22k - needless to say he didn't renew but the meeting with Ashley did happen. We have six strikers at the club and yet you expect Keegan to sign some more? Injuries have well and truly f***ed us up for the games so far, how anyone can claim otherwise is beyond me. Six strikers but only 3 that should be anywhere near the first team and two of those three have terrible injury records. Ameobi and Smith should have been let go or at least put on the bench and someone else brought in. Given the performances of Smith and Ameobi both last year and in pre-season, I would have thought this was painfully obvious? Yes, it could be argued that nobody will take them, but for the good of the team and the upcoming season, a hit on their transfer fees should have been taken to get rid - long term this would have been cheaper.

Play Faye there He was good for Bolton in that position and at least his headers wouldn't loop straight up in the air like butts Again, I agree, he looked good there when he did it last season for one or two games

Greatly concerned - the performances so far have been inept both as a team and individually. Additionally, some of the players we have out won't play a full season anyway so we will have to rely on some of these knackers at various points in the season and they are clearly not good enough. We haven't bought nearly enough players and have a painfully thin squad that will get exposed quickly given the injury record of some of our first team players and the ineptness of others.

Spot on. End of last season I was expecting a lot of transfer activity and to really put together a team who could push for a decent season. Except we still have a small squad not much talent to be honest and still playing players we know are no good. Yeah fair enough you can argue that we have Martins Owen and Viduka out but you have to have a team big enough to accomofate injuries and suspensions and at the moment we simply do not! You cant really expect to have replacements for Owen Martins and Viduka I agree, though maybe for Viduka whose fitness just isn't reliable. My point was we need more in the midfield as well, where we lack creativity, speed and ability to cross and if I was being brutally honest, have a DM whose legs are well past their best.

Yeah, we need Beye, Faye, Viduka and Barton at least. Would that be Barton who hasn't had a pre-season and is looking at a healthy ban and Mark "I can't play more than 2 games in a row" Viduka.

Looking at this team, we need more than Oba and Owen
