I don't want Deco, massively talented but attitude and fitness suspect. He may have played well in the champs league last week but has been a bit part in the league for Barca. Can't see us getting a consistent run of games out of him and he is getting on. I would hope we can find quality that is also consistent and is more than short term.
-
So much for the new set up with Wise and Co, no change, best players still want to go to London or the big clubs. Lets hope they are more successful with other targets and have a back up for Modric which isnt Deco.
-
It feels like a classic case of Modric's side/club leaking some stories to eek out any other interested bidders and creating some competitive tension to improve our offer/s.

It's the bolded bit I'd be concerned about. We signed Duff and played him ahead of N'Zogbia on account of reputation rather than ability. I'd be worried if we signed the likes of Riise for that reason only. By all means sign someone better if possible. Just make sure he is as good or better first. Good point
-
Not quite sure what the problem would be signing another left back - if he is better than Enrique then he will be very good, if he is similar then its great competition and if he is poorer then he shouldn't be signed. In utopia we would have competition for all places, god this club has suffered greatly from players getting complacent, I'm not saying Enrique is or would and there are other positions which need more urgent attention but if KK wants to get a decent LB then I say go for it, as long as its not to the detriment of buying in other more important areas.

Alex, I agree with you, Kuyt is very underrated and I think in Owen's position would be excellent (i.e. pushing Owen up) His only problem is he has been too unselfish.
-
Geremi is a bad, bad player. He's created a couple of chances, in his defence, but they have been spread across a dozen games. He's nowhere near good enough for a team that wants to be pushing for the top 7. Agreed
-
I didn't think Barton was very good but thought that Geremi was even worse - the cross for the goal aside, I'll be glad when Milner back.
-
We were poor they were worse, that's the worst we have played for 4 or 5 games and they still didn't look dangerous! Extremely happy but didn't think the 433 worked today, gave the ball away so much but Sunderland have a buch of carthorses so got away with it! Hurrah!

Wasn't Pele deemed to be priceless? Not joking, wasn't he at one point classed as a national treasure to stop him from being transferred abroad? Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me or its an old fishwives tale but I'm sure I read something like this ages ago.
-
£100m could prove cheap for him given the potential to win the Champs League and more importantly the amount of money they could make from marketing him - could be bigger than Beckham as a worldwide brand if done right - make their money back no problem. I'd be inclined to keep him as he can do the business on the pitch and make them loads of cash off it.
-
Mascherano is a top player and I would take Kuyt as well as he would be great behind a front two, Carragher is a no brainer - the rest I wouldn't be totally fussed about. Maybe Crouch as well.

Very true, Others like Gilberto are on the slide, even Gallas is either tired or starting to show signs of a decline and I am going to get shot down here after the season he has had but I think Flamini is starting to tire at the wrong time, he has been brilliant for most of the season but I don't think has looked the player he has previously done over the last few games (I might add I haven't seen all the games just the ones on TV)
-
I don't think over the two legs Arsenal deserved to go through. Their squad is getting found out now, too many tired legs out there and not enough quality back up. Defensively they look their weakest for years and people like Eboue are playing well below par. Liverpool will find it tougher against Chelsea whom I think at the moment defensively are a lot better. Walcott's run was class mind.
-
What impressed me most was our ball retention, finally we look comfortable on the ball and keep it without it looking like.a hot tattie!
-
Brilliant, what a performance

I thought Stephan Guivarch would be good.....till I saw him play
-
Kelly's by a country mile, jeez, just thinking back to that day gives me shivers

Never laugh at a player getting injured but I think because Spurs are such media darlings of the southern press and can do no wrong, I do enjoy a chuckle when something goes wrong - I think its more an issue with the press rather than Spurs!
-
Yeah, I said Owen was finished but he's been really quite excellent in the last few games.
-
What has happened with that russian lad that people were raving about in January - Aravashin or something spelt similar? Is he on the move in the summer/any good/what we want?
-
I read somewhere recently about that Boro player Tuncay who said he had found the premiership very difficult since he came because where he had been before, the league was very much 'one hard game' then 'one easy game' whereas the premiership is hard every week and it summed up what I think about Emre - comes on for one game, plays a 40 min cameo where he looks full of energy, full of enthusiasm and then next week he is either injured or just plain cr*p! You never get a sustained run of good performances from him and I'm sure that was something he was accused of at Inter as well (just guessing on this part so don't shoot me if the stats prove otherwise).
